I'm going to share my experience with my tiago. My odometer now reads 992km and it's been about 3 weeks since I got the car.
I have a red PETROL tiago XE. Got the leather seat covers, remote and central locking added and fitted 2 pairs of jbl cs-6c component speakers which fit perfectly into the speaker and tweeter slots.
I must say that I find the tiago absolutely brilliant and pleasurable to drive. Beautiful interiors, comfortable seats, spacious and comfortable to drive.
On my first 200km I would get an fe of 9kmpl which worried me. I made sure I never revved the engine past 2500 rpm. After around 500km I finally decided that there is no point in burn in periods for modern engines since every one I asked said it wasn't required and my dealership made no mention of it. Have a few runs pushing the engine and I started to get much better fuel efficiency all round.
If I consciously drive smoothly in the city assuming there isn't much stopping I get around 17kmpl. Otherwise generally around 14-15kmpl. If there is lots of traffic and stopping at traffic lights around 12kmpl. On the highway I got about 21kmpl. I once tried highway with eco mode and reached up to 22kmpl before I ran out of highway to drive on.. I'm confident on long distance trips you could get 23kmpl.
Getting stuck in traffic is actually pleasure to me. I have been in my friend's top variant tiago and can say that the speaker I have installed match the sound quality of the Harman system. This car was built keeping in mind a good music experience... If you get the right speakers they sound absolutely beautiful in the tiago.
The engine revs to around 6700rpm before it cuts off. You really feel the engine push past 4000rpm. Overall very happy with the power of the engine. Free reving and enough push to smoothly take on high speed breakers on second gear.
There is a bit of fine engine vibration on idle but it really isn't something you will notice. They smoothen out as you Rev the engine a bit. Not at all an issue. Cabin is extremely well insulated from sounds and the you really can't hear the engine much at all until you are reving past 4000rpm. Even then the engine has a very satisfying note.
My only small issues are -
1. Child lock on the of the rear doors kept switching on every now and then on its own.
2. Central locking has a few small issues at times. ( was very irritated in beginning because they didn't install the system properly. The car wasn't going into 5th gear because the apparently the locking system was interfering with the gear stick. Service center sorted it out)
3. I want to install my double-din touch screen head unit but still no clear news on double din unit fitment/finishing piece that is supposed to come out later. (please inform me if anyone gets news on this)
Soon going for my first servicing :)
