Hi All

I have TIAGO petrol XZ; I am facing two problems in my car
My car ECU is updated last week, after that I am hearing the lite whistling sound from the right side back side of the car.
Sometimes Herman system malfunctions, when I press switch off button it refuses to switch off, It continues to play until I press the Display button 3 to 4 times, Or else I need to do Factory reset for the Harman system.
Anybody faced same problem Or any solutions, please help me

Since you are from Bangalore, you can report the music system issues to Tata Motors. They will forward it to Harman and will send you a technician to reprogram the system. Someone in the Tiago owner's group had done it and got resolved.

You try reporting to Concorde first. Then if that doesnt work out, you can find the contact details of the main office online itself.

Sorry don't know solutions to your problems but why was your ecu updated?

It's part of many petrol Tiago's during first service (including mine). I am guessing bug fixes with the ECU software as I did not notice any major change after that.

I had booked tiago XZ, The car has arrived and I did a small PDI and payment part of the payment. Since this month( AASHADA)
is not well suited to vehicle delivery, I would like to take the car delivery in next month. My concern is what the chances of
car being used for test drives and resetting the ODO. Is this possible.

I do not have problem and in paying in now and getting it registerd and keeping it in office and taking the delivery next month.
Should i consider this option?

I am happy to be part of TATA family. Got delivered TATA Tiago XZ Revetron Pearlescent White last week(July 13) from Preana Motors RajajiNagar. Waiting Period was ~6 weeks.
Clocked 600kms on ODO.

Likes:
1.Build Quality is way better than Maruti,Hyundai in its segment
2.Harman music system.
3.Cornering stabilty, awesome and highly stable .( Last time i had the same experience with one of my friend's punto 90HP)
3.Steering response, Its light and easy to maneuver in narrow city-roads.
4.Ground clearance is decent(~170mm).
5.While driving you always feel that you are driving a bigger car
6.Happy with FE of 20KMPL on highways with full AC on and CITY mode.

Didn't Like:
1.Vibrations Vibrations Vibrations.
Whenever I start the car in idle, gear Lever dances with engine. Lot of vibrations are felt during 1st,2nd and 3rd gears. Vibrations seeps through dashboard and making tuk tuk sound.
(I am closely taking to Tata After sale service, they seem to be quite responsive.)
2.Not happy with mileage in Bangalore CITY(&CITY mode). getting close to 9KMPL.

Congrats on your Snow whitey and glad you are enjoying your car.
Yes, there are some vibrations which is typically associated with 3 cyl engines. Tata is preparing a fix for this and soon it will be provided to all.
Mileage will increase with more running. Since it is a fairly new car, the engine is yet to properly run in and smoothen out. After this run-in period of 1500kms, the efficiency will increase, also reducing viibrations.
Anyway reset the Efficiency indicator in the MID every time you fill up fuel and follow the standard driving tips for optimum efficiency.

Welcome to TAI and TML family .
I am in the same boat as you but got the gear lever and dashboard vibrations reduced by service center guys (see details here). However, mileage is the same story - clocked 2200+ and still only 11ish in city and 20ish on long drives with fewer gear shifts.

If Tiago is cool nexon is going to be super cool. Why not a Tiago for your dad and a nexon for you, just a thought.

Will the dealer agree to wait for a month for you to make full payment? Especially when the demand for the car is high. What if somebody in the waitlist offers full payment in cash, will he still hold the car for you? What is the guarantee?
Most dealer and service centers @ TATA are short of space. If you leave it with dealer, chances are they may keep the car in open place and hence it will be subjected to rain and dust. Dealer using the car is also a possibility that cannot be ruled out.

Please ask for your VIN number and start your loan process in parallel. If your dealer cannot give you the VIN within a week, then he bluffed to you about the allocation.
Make sure you do not hand over the loan check to dealer until you complete a satisfactory PDI in their stockyard.

He has provided this as a VIN number: MAT626281GKF19***
Could anyone help me decode it? I had already asked him that I will do a PDI for which he is saying start the billing process and after the car is billed they will bring the car to showroom for PDI.
I did tell him I will bill the same day I get my PDI not before that ( or if they allow me to visit their stockyard, they are giving an excuse the stockyard is at Badarpur and is filled with knee height mud and all)
I have just submitted my documents for processing and will wait for the loan to be approved.
Please help and guide which papers I should/ should not sign prior to PDI and or delivery. I will be paying around 1.2 lk divided in 2 cheques and rest as loan amount (TIAGO petrol XZ).
Would also appreciate with national insurance company to go for, they are quoting 20k for B2B Zero dep insurance.
Anything else I should know as I am a first time owner ( apart from PDI checklist and going through papers before signing and checking registration details.)

Dont know when it will launch. But yeah i think you made my problem easier.
My running is around 1200kms so I can manage with my petrol verna for now(mileage is just 10kmpl in summers :/) after 2-3 years I can go for another car.
And new tiago ownership thread might open up soon B)
