I am new in this forum. I have couple of things to know. I am staying in Bangalore. I am looking for a new car, and then saw the Tiago. I loved the car. But the problem is I have heard that Tata service center is not good in Bangalore and the dealers are always fooling and getting more money when you are buy a Tata car. I am not going to talk about any other car company. So, my questions are below:
1. Is it good to buy Tiago in Bangalore?
2. If, yes, then which dealer is good?
3. After sales service which dealer is good?
4. I am planning to take insurance outside not from dealer? which insurance company to look for?
5. What about RTO tax? everyone is quoting almost 78-80K as RTO tax for Tiago XZ version.
6. Dealer is saying Tata stop manufacturing XZ of Tiago w/o Alloy wheel. Not sure how true it is.
7. Planning to go for SBI loan. Any idea how to get it directly from SBI.

Any help will be helpful for me. I am a new buyer and don't know how to negotiate with dealer.
Today I went to Aadya Motors in Bangalore. They gave me offer. It seems they have November 2016 Tiago XZ model and if I go for that they will give me 40K discount. Is it good to go with 2016 Nov model. Please reply.

...questions are below:...
So, my
1. Is it good to buy Tiago in Bangalore? - I think Bangalore is the better one as it has more dealers and ASC compared to most other cities.
2. If, yes, then which dealer is good? I tried KHT for sales. They are good but be ready to have some or the other mistake in your RC card but they eventually corrected so I would say they are good. Concorde is also good. I would suggest avoid Prerna motors as I didn't find them helpful and their price was slightly more than other showrooms long back when I checked. Also they ask for handling charge which other dealers don't ask.
3. After sales service which dealer is good? - I tried Concorde opp JPMC/PTP which was a good experience. Heard from Tiago group members that Concorde Diary Circle and Classic Motors Service is also good. Few didn't had good experience with Prerna Motors Kudlu Gate and I personally didn't like KHT service along with few others in my group so would suggest try the ones I recommend.
4. I am planning to take insurance outside not from dealer? which insurance company to look for? - Any Dealer would overcharge for insurance so please buy from outside. I purchased 0 dep from Royal Sundaram as they seem to have good reputation and are authorised Tata Service Provider.
5. What about RTO tax? everyone is quoting almost 78-80K as RTO tax for Tiago XZ version. - Road Tax depends on the price of the car and is as per state govt rules so I think Dealers would give you correct amount for that. That said check prices with multiple dealers.
6. Dealer is saying Tata stop manufacturing XZ of Tiago w/o Alloy wheel. Not sure how true it is. - Mine is XZ w/o Alloys and I find it more VFM than normal XZ. I haven't heard this. Definitely call and check with mutiple dealers and few would provide you and buy from there.
7. Planning to go for SBI loan. Any idea how to get it directly from SBI. - I did full payment so no idea on this.

Any help will be helpful for me. I am a new buyer and don't know how to negotiate with dealer. - Ask for freebies if possible but most won't give for Tiago as demand is good.

Is it good to go with 2016 Nov model. Please reply. - I would suggest ignore it as it would not look new, there might be issues, might be used as TD vehicle.

Thank for the info. Is it possible to tell you how much percentage for RTO. I calculated they are charging almost 14.5% and above. How much you gave for RTO?

I don't remember exact amounts but for xz w/o alloy that time road tax was 64K approx I guess and RTO charge was not much may be 2.5k if I remember correctly. Note that Karnataka has highest road tax in the country so its not Tata but KA Govt. who is the culprit. Even if you go to any dealer of any company, you are bound to see very high road tax. It goes to the state govt and not Tata. RTO charge is mostly fix and doesn't depend on model. You can register the car yourself but would end up taking more hassle and paying same or even more amount (probably bribe) in the RTO office.

1. Is it good to buy Tiago in Bangalore?
Reply: Ha ha yes, i have been using it for the past 11 months.

2. If, yes, then which dealer is good?
Reply: KHT is good for swift delivery. I dealt with Prerana, Lalbagh Road.
The sales experience was poor.

3. After sales service which dealer is good?
Reply: This is a mixed bag. I have gained confidence in Prerana, Kudlu Gate. After dealing with few issues, have got hold of few folks in the workshop.

4. I am planning to take insurance outside not from dealer? which insurance company to look for?
Reply: Yes. You have plenty of options. Go for Nationalized insurance companies.
I am with National Insurance.
Try United India Assurance and Oriental insurance for quotes.
First year zero dep insurance costed me 10,836 for and Ex-Shoroom - 4,89,019/- IDV.

5. What about RTO tax? everyone is quoting almost 78-80K as RTO tax for Tiago XZ version.
Reply: It was 70,565/- an year ago.

6. Dealer is saying Tata stop manufacturing XZ of Tiago w/o Alloy wheel. Not sure how true it is.
Reply: Yes, for faster delivery folks are following this.

7. Planning to go for SBI loan. Any idea how to get it directly from SBI.
Reply: Even my car was financed through SBI. Even if you go through the dealer, the process is same. The dealer would give you a form of SBI, after getting all the required documents. You need to plan one visit to the branch. There were no processing loan charges way back then. Only charges were for stamp papers worth 800 Rs. They would do all the documentation. The accounts department would provide you all the assistance. This experience was good with Prerana.

With the SBI you have a flexibility of pre-paying the loan any time. Which is a good option. Apart from the EMI, you can keep paying additional amount, that is credited directly to the principal amount.

Reply: Don't fall for this bait, wait for the latest batch model.
My car was manufactured on 23 rd May, reached the dealership yard by 31st May. And i took the delivery on 16th of June last year.
With the GST being rolled out there could be marginal price difference, but there are speculations that road tax might be hiked by respective State Government.

@Mukesh I paid almost 16.2k for idv of 4.71 for zero dep insurance. How did you pay only 10.8k ? Possibly you have voluntary deduction? Are these nationalised cos good like RS? If yes then I would use those nationalised ones while renewing my insurance. I always believed nationalised insurance companies aren't that good during vlaims.

Abhisek, I switched from RS to National during renewal (bought from TASC). Apparently, insurance brokerage margins between Tata sales and service offices are quite different. I paid 11K for second year renewal with zero dep and IDV of 4L.

Thanks a lot Prabhagar that was helpful. But are these Nationalised companies like National and United India as good as RS/other private ones during claim settlement? I always doubt Govt. stuffs.

From what I asked around, when purchased from dealerships/ASCs, settlements are quite easy and fair. It is also cashless across all TASC nationwide which gave me the confidence to switch to them.
RS quoted Rs 13K for same IDV but with some extra perks like unlimited zero dep claims and free Road Side Assistance. I will know the true value of the 2K savings only after going through a claim (hopefully that never happens). [:)]

Took the car for 3rd service yesterday.
Car seems bit better. But observed today, that the initial full sweep of RPM needle isn't happening when switching the ignition on.
Called up the SA and he says the sweep doesn't happen. Says will check in other Tiago.

I am hearing this for the first time. Several owners I know of have completed third service and have not reported this issue. May be they flashed the wrong version (like XZA) on your car [confused] ?

Bit confused [confused]. Are you saying the RPM sweep (inital checkup as they say) doesn't happen in Tiago? Or it does happen and nobody faced this issue of the sweep not happening after the 3rd service?
For AMT, the sweep doesn't happen?

It might be a case of some small issue, I believe as yesterday it did work at one instance. By the way, not even sure if that needle sweep is a gimmick or actually serves some function. Car is fine otherwise.

Also, at one instance, Reverse Park Assist didn't work. But tried again and it worked.

Sorry about that. I meant the sweep does happen and nobody faced the issue you are having (before and after 3rd service). I do not know about AMT and was just thinking out loud. [:)]

Its a self check feature to ensure the needles & gauges work. Here is what the user manual has to say:
At every key IN and ignition ON, the Instrument Cluster needles and gauges moves to MAX. and returns to '0' position. This is a welcome strategy and a self-check feature.

Also, at one instance, Reverse Park Assist didn't work. But tried again and it worked.
I too faced this once. And very recently the switch had gone kaput and it was replaced under warranty.
