it's hilarious to see people considering this breaking of windshield as a big design flaw. Now i see that the windshield matters more than the passengers head or even the impact absorption. Tata designs the body structure with proper crumple zones. The crumpling glass could also be designed to absorb the forces. Now stop discussing petty issues and pls get back to topic.

I m going to book my first car Tata Tiago this weekend at Concorde Motors, Pune. Opting for XM (O) variant. Have few doubts need your guidance.

I) Will be going only for audio system as an extra accessories, Dealership they suggested two audio systems one is kenwood & the other one I forgot the name, the name starts with BA or BL something both comes with 4 speakers & they are charging 11K for that. Is it worth for 11K. Can I buy this audio system from after market incase if I go for it, will it affect my warranty.

ii) As it is a new car no discounts are offered, Even I didn't ask seeing the demand, the thing is should I negotiate on the accessories at the time of booking or at that of time full payment, please suggest. Looks like he may give some slight discounts on the accessories if I opt any.
Note: Even corporate discount was denied.

iii) I m more interested in upgrading my tyres from 13 to 14inch, which dealership is turned down to that. Where can I do this & how much should I spend for this.

When I enquired about upgrading the tyres from 13 to 14", dealer said it might cost 25K approximately so if you are interested in fitting audio upgrading tyres, it is better to opt for XT(O) variant which costs around 30K extra.

I have booked Tiago XZ diesel. My SA gave me 5k accessories free though he denied me to give loyalty bonus.
Please make sure to take insurance from outside. In my case I told him that I will be taking it from outside, the next sentence was that he will match the insurance amount and give me, so i saved another 7k.

Considering your requirement of music system and 14" tyre which would cost you 25+11k you could opt for XT(O) which costs 30 k more than XM. Infact if you are not looking for alloy wheel you could check with dealer regarding XZ without alloy wheel option is available for a discount of 12-13k. Also get insurance from outside so you may end up paying 20k more than your current XM(O)+ music system+14" wheel, however you will not miss out ABS 8 speaker system steering mounted control premium seat and other small upgrades.

If changing tyres is not strict necessary for you, remain with you XM(O) option which makes good savings. Negotiate on external insurance on any option .

Price will go down in states like Karnataka and will go up in UT like Pondicherry.

I took the test drive of Tiago today and was stunned. Some back story.

I had booked the Tiago in Concorde(Bangalore) way back before it was even opened for booking. Concorde had a test drive vehicle in February End or March beginning. I immediately liked the car and booked it right away, even though it felt kind of crude, with gear lever vibration, Clutch pedal vibration, NVH level was ok, even though it felt under-powered at times, but still the car felt way better than Celerio. I booked the car for 5k.

Unfortunately, I had to travel to Mauritius for work, where I got the opportunity to drive various cars that could go 140kmph without even breaking a sweat. I started wondering if Tiago can satisfy me with the performance in Highways. During that time period, the car was allocated twice to me, and I had to ask them to re-allocate. After reaching India I didn't feel keen on buying because I was supposed to travel again, so I didn't contact the dealer. One day while I was standing, a Tiago stood right in front of me. It was in a standstill and the front tire was vibrating was so much, it really got me concerned.

At home they started pushing about cars, so I was thinking of going for a 4-Cylinder vehicle, and thought of test driving Ford Figo and Swift, but I still felt drawn to the Tiago.

So today I went for a test drive and got stunned. I felt like I was sitting in a different car. There was no vibration in clutch pedal, gear lever, the cabin felt better, the car just drove a lot better. I really don't know how to say, it felt like a well made car. It seems that Tata has been taking feedback seriously and that is reflecting in the car. Even though there is slight lag at times, I can live with that.

Now coming to the most confusing question, I don't want to delay further, but the launch of Kite 5 is making me wait. It is a real stunner and Tata would have incorporated the feedback it got in Tiago to Kite 5 as well.

What might be the price on road for the Top end Version of Kite 5 and by when would it launch?
The car dealers told that it would be launched next year. So any ideas of the launch from any birdies here?

I agree with you except the cost. I think it will be nearly 1 lakh costlier than Tiago because it comes with much more features than Tiago.

The difference between bolt and zest top end in my city is rs33482,even though I do not have any concrete information but i strongly believe difference will be not more than 60000.With tata it's always more bang for your buck,expect same with kite 5 , at-least in introductory pricing.Rest we can only speculate.
