Can someone mention post no. on this thread to check the Berry Red Color ?

I have finalized Tiago as my next car, but before proceeding further, i wanted to finalize on color and variant.

Features are not a priority, but hey i do require AC & Power Steering though. Airbags are also wanted, hence have decided on Option Variants & XZ. I will be buying based on color to variant choice.

Striker Blue & Berry Red are my 2 choices. Have seen Blue in the stockyard & it looks refreshingly different from boring Whites/Silvers.

Dealer has quoted 2 months waiting for Diesel Tiago. If AMT (Diesel) comes soon, i would be tempted to get one.

Please refer page 8 of this thread; refer post by Unreal

or you may refer below link to Tiago website

Tata Tiago

Though I think colours shown on website do not match with actual vehicle colours [roll]

Wanted to see it in flesh but dealership (Concord Pune) was not having it on display, so dropped the plan for Red

My three year daughter is dis-pointed and is refusing to accept other colour
Gong to be a difficult task to convince he, I guess a big chocolate would do the trick [;)]

Wish you all the best!

Dear Prabhagar, thanks for the effort. That is some hard work you have done to help buyers here. Appreciate that.

Since you're already Tiago Owner, it would be good if you answer certain quaries I have

1. Between Two Engines, which would be you're pick ?

2. Did you notice difference in drive & other small things (AC, Vibrations etc) between you're car & TD car.

3. How is the after sales service, is TML able to address you're complaints if any ?

4. Have you opted for Gold AMC Pack ? Is it useful ? How much is the term period of it ?

5. Service intervals of Tiago Petrol/Diesel

6. Fuel Economy you are getting ? If yours is Petrol, could someone mention the same regarding Diesel ?

I had lost trust on Tata, because of the unreliable Indica in 1998. Post that I haven't owned a single Tata car although my brother did have Vista but that too was sold due to problems.

With Tiago, I have felt huge leap in quality and overall aspect of car, it doesn't feel like Taxi. And Tata have priced it well, so much that it replicates "More Car Per Car" tag very well.

Nishant@ am sharing my thoughts here may differ with others.

Engine- I prefer Petrol for less money spent however it seems like its not refined if you step in after driving 4 pot mills. It's a good engine and tuned towards economy. so your pic.
diesel mill feels that it more refined coz balancing shaft and its frugal too. I really liked the mill comparing it with other 3 pot engines available near as we are paying very less for this engine & car. VFM is the line here.

Ac - not a problem at all. Just step on the accelerator and it will cool you the way it should. I never felt any issues whatever time I spent in the car however it is notch less than My sail sedan but no complaints at all.

Vibrations- Yes a bit of vibration is there at idle and 3 cylinder thrum is evident which is the case with other cars in the segment as well. Not a deal breaker and the kind of money we are spending.

After sales service- You need to choose your dealer carefully. sometimes dealer is the culprit not the product or the company. Tiago is a well engineered product and the news are positive even from the ASS front.

Dear Prabhagar, thanks for the effort. That is some hard work you have done to help buyers here. Appreciate that.
My pleasure Nishant. I just did a thread search and listed some posts. Please see my answers below:

1. Between Two Engines, which would be you're pick ?
I bought the petrol engine considering my low running and budget. Being a 3 pot, petrol engine is noisy to some folks but I ended up loving the engine note.

2. Did you notice difference in drive & other small things (AC, Vibrations etc) between you're car & TD car.
I have clocked 2500+ now and did not notice any issues with the engine so far. Faced some issues with dashboard rattling as well as AC knob which were taken care of by TML service team. AC is sufficient to cool the cabin real quick.

3. How is the after sales service, is TML able to address you're complaints if any ?
I see they are improving a lot especially for Tiago and are attending to complaints (raised via TMSC smartphone app) promptly. They are not at MSIL levels yet but nothing to bad mouth about.

4. Have you opted for Gold AMC Pack ? Is it useful ? How much is the term period of it ?
Yes I bought Gold AMC for Rs8800. It's more of a gamble IMO, beneficial if something breaks within its term, otherwise not that much of savings. It covers upto 2 years or 30K km whichever is earlier.

5. Service intervals of Tiago Petrol/Diesel
Petrol: Oil changes every 15K/1yr but service intervals at 7.5K/6months (I guess more checkpoints being a new model).
Diesel: Do not know but its mentioned in the user manual attached to my ownership thread (link below).

6. Fuel Economy you are getting ? If yours is Petrol, could someone mention the same regarding Diesel ?
B2B city: 10-12kmpl
Mixed city & single lane highway: 14-17kmpl
Single Lane Highway: 18+ kmpl
* All calculations based on Tank Full method.
* Never used eco modes on these checks.

Totally agree with you I personally experienced Tata dealership service levels when my uncle was shopping around for a hatchback and did not bother to look at Tiago for a while but my perceptions have changed now. Yes they are not perfect in service department but none of the car dealers are perfect anywhere (from what I read from user experiences in auto forums). I understood the risk and had bit the bullet, looks like its worth it. [:)]

Below is a link to my ownership thread which has answers to most of your questions. Check out the updates at the end of my review: http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...6530-tata-tiago-petrol-xz-laymans-review.html

This is true. Personally I didn't felt culprit in Tata Cars but the service center breaks them and we blame Tata.

Hello Nishant,

Are you going to buy Tiago in Hubli? If so, the dealer is Manickbag Automobiles Vidya Nagar, right?

I owned a Tata Nano few years ago and I wasn't happy with their service. Infact they caused malfunction to my nicely working car and that led me sell it for huge lose.

My experience with the dealer:

1. On every service I waited for more then an hour for a service adviser to take my car. Waiting is common but you get a small cup of tea though.

2. Service advisers are more interested in Taxi's, SUV's and well known owners. In other words, they care only those vehicles that needs more servicing and parts replacement. New cars have free service or require only oil change and general checkup, that means no big money for them so they are least bothered.

3. Now I don't know whether the dealer have hired technicians with more knowledge but back then, all were dumb and have no idea what they are doing. I believe they were not car repair technicians but general factory workers. They used to take my car service manual on every service and return it with all greased.

4. On first few services they delivered my car on the same day but later servicing started to delay for 2-3 days. SA used to call me to pick the vehicle but when I go there, they come up with apologize and request to come next day.

5. After each service, I used to check everything on returning home and something would be missing or improperly fitted. No piece of mind while driving because I had doubt vehicle would stop mid road. It really happened 2-3 times, that too in traffic signals.

There are more bad things I have come across with this dealer but I don't like to remember them now. I'm much interested in Tata cars but the dealer is no good and he is the only dealer in Hubli but if another dealers comes in, I will be more happy then anyone. [:)]

Above said things are my past experience but now I don't know whether the dealer attitude has got better. I think you have already visited the dealer but if you haven't went to service center then please go there and have a glance. Ask queries to car owners about service center, service advisers, technicians and etc. They will give you honest reply.

Thanks...
Best Regards

^^100% agree, it all boinls down to the service center at the end of the day. But manufacturer also needs to keep a strict check on service quality and feedback, else no reforms are going to give good results.
Right now I am also in the midst of a story of the service experience itself, couldn't hold myself from replying to this post though.

Hi all,
I have booked Tiago XZ petrol - White on June 20th in Tirupur with Tafe Access dealer. Prior to booking they said waiting period is 6 weeks, then after booking they said it is 8 weeks. Now they say 10 to 12 weeks. Now I am not sure whether it will be delivered at-least by end of August. I heard that maruthi and Hyundai have increased their prices in all or most demanded cars. I guss, this will trigger price hike in Tiago aswell from September. Extra money[cry][confused]

If the post in Bhp is to be believed, Tiago has sold more than 5000 units in July. Seems the car has gained momentum.
If the trend continues for couple of months then good word of mouth will make it a sustainable success.

Looks to be a positive trend, either market leaders will review their value proposition or Tata will become one of the top 3 automakers in India.

I've also got the chance to drive both Petrol & Diesel Tiago XZ variants, while selecting & shortlisting a next city car for myself.
My inference points:

Tata Tiago XZ Petrol

-Engine: First impression is Good.
-Power delivery: Good. A bit jittery at low revs & while start of a drive. I guess many 3-cylinder Petrol engine does have it.
-Engine note: Ok ok. But as revs build it sounds like Turbo of a Tata Truck/Bus, maybe its a whine or Airhose pressure noise or maybe due to clogged Air filter. Tiago petrol owners or aware ones please clarify on this.
-NVH: Personally I'm satisfied with it NVH as per daily commute demands & usage patterns. I guess its acceptable for all but what where I felt a bit of shortcoming is its Shaky gear lever, specifically during Idle & at standstill. I didn't liked it much because it's literally annoying when you're standing at a traffic signal or in a traffic jam & waiting to start with gear engaged & clutch pressed. Atleast I felt it not so good at that time.
Driveability: Excellent for a car of this size, weight, Power & feel. Its absolutely stress free & relaxed with Predictable power delivery & torque spread.

Tata Tiago XZ Diesel

-Engine: Good, Infact I liked it very much & best out of its rivals. Its really smooth for 3 cyl & doesn't feels like it so.
-Power delivery: Good. With even torque spread. Revving or redlining it's a fun.
-Engine note: Soft & sporty.
-NVH: Vibrations can be felt very mildly through Gear lever, but isn't much to be called an Issue.
While in one brand new Tiago, I felt a bit of vibes through its Driver seatback at my back, behind the abdomen. While it was almost negligible/almost missing in TD car.
Remarks:
My friend sitting at Rear seat complained of slightly less AC cooling at its Rear seat.

Tiago owners please clarify on these negative attributes, as does they're rectified in new production cars as I've driven were from the Initial batch TD cars.
And please do update about its fuel efficiency of both Petrol & Diesel Tiago.

I was very much interested in Tata Tiago XZ Diesel but the design flaw as discussed in the post #1928 at the link below has changed my mind & made me to rethink my decision.qhttp://www.theautomotiveindia.com/forums/indian-auto-sector/11557-tatas-new-hatchback-zica-now-renamed-tiago-129.html#post502212

What could be the alternative option ?
To remove front Passenger Airbag or uncouple the wiring harness of it after buying the car or somebody should throw some light on this matter.
I'm not much interested in buying Non-Airbag version or version lacking Crucial safety equipment.
Anybody who've seen or could come across any Tiago which has got its Airbags open at Body shop/Tata Authorized service centres, do post its detail pics & Please clarify on this subject.

People talking about Airbags "Design Flaw" Ha ha ha ha ha
It doesn't even qualify as design flaw !

just read this to understand what is design flaw's depth and damage it can do.
https://www.consumeraffairs.com/news/scientists-point-to-fatal-flaw-in-takata-airbags-022416.html

Had the windscreens breaking by themselves it would have been design flaw.

I don't know why people are trying to save windscreen (which is anyway covered by insurance) in case of a crash which will activate the airbags.

You don't see airbags quite often and incase you see it, you definitely don't care about anything else, broken bumpers or crumbled bonet or dislocated engine or "broken
windscreen".

airbag opened, Windscreen is ok but . . . .
https://www.consumeraffairs.com/news/14-million-more-takata-airbags-being-recalled-051716.html

Bottom line "Tiago is much better than those paper made cars by Maruti(all)/Hyundai(i 10)/Honda(Amaze)/Renault(Kwid)" period.

I remember seeing a few posts enquiring if a double din music system can be added after market to tiago(for models which do not have harman kardon). Well, I stumbled upon this 7 inch android device which fits perfectly in the tiago..

https://www.olx.in/item/android-car...-navigation-ID16z9px.html#c27553c300;promoted
Seems great !!!
quoting price 26K and 1 year warranty on OLX

What is wireless steering wheel button feature mentioned in description
can you please elaborate

Refer below link for more details
India’s First Android Powered Car InfotainmentStereo system (7 inch LCD touch panel (Double Din) with unbelievable features at lower price tag – Laxo Orbis Pvt. Ltd

But I doubt if it can really fit into Tiago as description of this system says Double DIN 7" size and Tiago brochure says segmented DIS display 2.5" [confused]
