Hey guyz, posting after long time. I have a question though it seems stupid :stupid: but, if there is a choice to be made between Tiago XT(O), Baleno 1.2 Delta and Elite i20 1.2 Magna which one should I buy. Keeping in mind that I can stretch my budget of 5lakhs to 6.5lakhs if these cars are distinguishly better than Tiago. I love Tiago very much but only concerned with NVH, underpowered engine and yes both other cars are visually bigger than Tiago. I like good refined car with good performance and awesome road presence. I would have gone for Ecosport blindly if my budget permits. So here's the dilemma if I can stretch my budget by any how, would the baleno or elite i20 worth the difference in respect to Tiago XT(O)?

Also has any Tiago owner selected or even seen (in showroom) the Aktive body kits?
For any segment of cars, the top spec would land in the basic-mid variant of higher segment. Its grossly unfair to compare Tiago which is not even in swift league to compare with Baleno or I20.

The latter 2 are way better than Tiago and Tiago need not be in Radar if you are in Baleno / I20 Range.

Re: Tata Tiago Review & Pictures: Tata's Tiago

Hi All,
I have been using Tata Tiago XZ (petrol) Since May 4 2016,Purchased from Auto matrix Mangalore.
At start there were some issues with the car,As the car was manufactured in month of Feb 16.

Issue listed below
    1. NVH
    2. Gear Vibration and rattling
    3. Glove Box Left upper part has a quite bit of gap in it,Still under rectification. And I have seen many car having this issue
    4. Top Black Strip issue on left side,Looking like uneven fit
    5. Refuel message was coming even when there is 8+ lts or petrol.
    6. Low mileage around (12-14 Kmpl)
    7. Pulling was very less.
    Too much isn't it [frustration][evil]

But after constant interaction with Tata Motors,All the issues were nullified,And now the car is really Fantastico [:D]

Now its returning a mileage of around 18Kmpl on a bit busy highway and village curvy road,With A/C on sometimes.

Here is complete owner ship review by me written on Quora with 2.5K+ views :http://tinyurl.com/zf4pphb

    There are some other queries:
    1. Did any one try the original DRL provided by Tata Motors for Tiago ?As I am looking for one.As mine is XZ variant it already has a Fog Lamp with chrome finish.I just want a LED DRL without fog Lamp. So did any one install LED DRL?If so please post a video / image here with light on and off state.Just wanted to see the look' s of it.
    2. Did any one try Original Seat covers for Tiago?Hows the quality are they durable or should I buy it outside ?
    3. Did any one cross 110 Kmph mark?
    4. Did any one install Roof Railing? Please share pics

Will post some off road driving videos very soon. It's FANTASTICO!

Same here, I had topped up my Tiago to full tank today and calculated the FE to be only 11.6 kmpl. ODO is close to 2500, using city mode with AC most of the time. I drive in Coimbatore and can't call this B2B traffic at all. [frustration]

This is more of a dilemma. The Tiago offers better ride-handling than the Elite or Baleno while the Baleno is quicker only because its lightweight.
The Tiago may not be as refined as the four cylinder cars, but it is never underpowered and is in the league of the Petrol Polo 1.2. The initial vibration issues are being corrected by Tata and we expect the Tiagos manufactured from August onwards to be totally free of vibrations.
If I were you, I would rather go for the Tiago xz, since the Tiago lower variants with optional packs are yet to be delivered to anyone and no one knows even if it has been produced. And yes, no compromise on safety.
I personally don't believe in the Baleno being a premium hatchback as it is just a Swift underneath that ugly waxy melty body of it. I won't be surprised if the owners get bored within just 2 years of Baleno-ing.
The Elite is one premium feeling car, but it's best as a city car. The handling and feedback of the steering is sleepy and toyish enough to make your highway drive very boring.
Why don't you try the Figo? I don't know about it's petrol engine, but the diesel is absolutely great. It may not be as exciting to look at as the Tiago, but it's good to drive and have fun on highways.
If petrol and fun are your priorities and looks don't matter much, then the Bolt 1.2Turbo is great value. The Sport mode is real fun. Yes, you may need to mod it by slapping on some cool body kits and alloys to make it look better, but it's a great car nonetheless.
Regarding the Tiago Activ kits, only the body skirts are available with SRT Tata here in Coimbatore. Alloys and roof rails are yet to come.
Happy choosing.
This Blue Tiago is an XM variant, with 13 inch alloys and Activ skirts fitted by SRT Tata. There are images of Red XM, Blue XZ with activ kits on other threads.

Thanks bro, It seems Tiago is indeed the best option then. Will go for it.

BTW read somewhere that AMT version will be launched before diwali. So it will be just before diwali in festive season, or I can expect it sooner. Also seems kite 5 is ready for launch, can I buy the harmon ICE of that and get it installed in TIAGO?

Hi Shiva i have crossed 140Km/hr and it is very good with zero vibration effect
Kudos bro :) I Still didn't get any opportunity to revvv my vehicle at that speed. If I cross more than 140km/hr then will surely post an update.

Here you go. This is only tip of the iceberg, will look very ugly after a rainy drive.

This happens even after a dirt and rain ride and i never checked this while i drive in city. And I think this happens in other manufactured cars as well i guess.

Hi Shiva My car also giving mileage around 10 - 12 KMPL , can you please let me know what are the measure you have taken to correct it ? and what service person did to correct this problem.
Ok first take your car to nearest TATA service center and tell them the issues. They will change the synchronize i think or they might adjust the gear lever slots and If ECU update is not yet done, then please get it done ASAP,after that you wont repent.
------------------------------------------------------
Some more common issue
1.Did anyone notice the gap in left edge top part of glove box,it has some opening and it doesn't close fully,Some kind of manufacturing defect i guess.I don't no if its a part of Honeycomb design (LOL).I have already complained about it some 2 months back and its still under process at tata's manufacturing plant.Looks like I need to send them one more reminder call now.(sorry i don't have pic right now,but you all can check it one's)

2.And i saw a TAI member complaint about rats. This issue is common for all the cars.Rats are intelligent beings. So better to have a underwear's for the car (LOL).So that it protects the engine bay [lol].Obviously this is the worst issue that we can find!!!

3.One more common issue that can be found could be with AC when you keep the A/C circulation knob to second one (Main + Foot Vent),Here most cooling is lost.I tried driving in bare foot sometime and i couldn't feel the chillness inside,But when i change the circulation to just the main vent then there is substantial amount of cooling which can be felt after some 3 min's.

I feel so sorry.brand new car.You will have to be patient now.God knows what else it has cut. Please tell them to check entire wiring. And once you get it back ;God forbid don't park it in the same place. There obviously is a way for the rat to enter. You got to find it out and put a mesh screwed in.Rats have great memory...personal experience mate...with the baleno...multiple times..No point worrying. As and when issues crop up..jus do it.Most likely no major problems will come. But a modern machine should have that covered.Rats just dont enter the aria so far..as i said there has to be a way.
By the way offtopic dont you think the tiago's rear has more than a passing resemblance to the Chevrolet onix.pic attached.Your opinion TAI guys?I like the TATAs to remain distinctive. They are very capable at that. Mr.Bose are you listening??But its got beautiful proportion after all and the market is lapping it up.Recently sat in one.The heavy doors;the solid thud...way to go TATA.
Really?
I don't think so, all elements which collectively make a rear of car are different. Be it Glass area, rear lamps, different crease to break visual mass, registration plate area etc.
Similarities which I can see are 4 tyres, a hatch, a bonnet, 4 doors etc. And I hope picture clearly states the difference quite well.

1500 KM on ODO, Petrol variant, TFTF i got a mileage of 18.5 KMPL, the MID displayed 20.5 KMPL (+10% error in the MID FE display). My car consumed 22.7 liters for a distance of 420 KM out of which 120 KM is within city limits, 180 KM is on butter smooth highway and 120 KM is on rural roads (almost no road, lot of pot holes, a driver's nightmare kind of roads).

I feel that the actual mileage of Tiago is around 18-20 Kmpl in highways and around 15 in city,This is with or without A/C.
So with Eco mode on +1/+2 more mileage may me.
And 23-25 KMPL is just a Hype from Tata Motors ,If am not wrong :) Using Rajnikath's (Kabali tactics) to fool people.
Anyways vehicle is good and more safe to drive.

Which company doesn't do it?
Infact far more is achievable has been demonstrated by Tata motors on the production ready car without any tuning. Ofcourse under close to ideal driving conditions.

Real world mileage is totally different from all car manufactures mileage report. Also, it varies from person to person.

For Eg: My car delivers very good mileage(around 18kmpl) when my dad drives it, when it comes to me, it is not(Stuck at 15kmpl)[lol]

Enjoy your new car without checking the mileage, your car mileage will became steady once the engine is set after running some thousands kms.
