Re: Tata Tiago Petrol XZ - A Layman's Review: Third Service Update
Fourth Service Update:
6 months on the calendar and it's time for my Tiago's 4th (minor) service. I did it two days ahead of the date noted by TASC on my driver side visor, as it was a less busier work week for me. ODO stood at 20677 when I reached TASC, which is 2000KM short of the 22500KM schedule.
This time around, I printed out a checklist and handed it to my SA, he must have thought I'm a nerd .
Solutions Provided (Major):
1. Left Pulling : Alignment corrected. Since this was not a strong pull, I did not bother picking on them.
2. AC not cooling under hot sun : AC Filter cleaned, they also blowed compressed air in engine bay (thank you dashcam) to remove all the mud accumulated. I do not hear disrupted airflow anymore. Yet to test after parking under hot sun.
3. Fog lamps : Replaced under warranty. This was a known issue with a specific vendor's parts. Just that I did not use my fog lamps long enough to heat it up.
4. Half rolled down windows making noise : I guess they tightened something in doors, forgot to ask what was done.
Solutions Provided (Minor):
1. Long cranking at times : They suspected it to be related to battery but it was fine.
2. Center console USB charger loose: Tightened.
3. Rear left door vibration : This was noticeable with bass notes at higher volume levels (15+). Corrected by TASC.
4. Repeated relay sound : Experienced this only once during reversing, not sure what they did.
Replacements:
1. Rear left Tail lamp bulb : Replaced & invoiced.
2. Front right fog lamp bulb : Both fog lamps replaced under warranty.
3. 12v socket cover : The plastic cover's open/close point got broken and asked them to replace if possible. Not a deal breaker.
4. Clutch pedal cover : Had worn out and close enough to reveal the metal beneath. Replaced & invoiced (both B and C pedals).
5. Change wiper blades : Both front wipers and rear wiper blades were changed under AMC.
6. Handover RHS ORVM : They took my old ORVM and I will be paid shortly (or adjusted in upcoming service visits).
Regular checks were done; tires rotated, wheels balanced and aligned:
Invoice Copies: I was charged for wheel balancing citing it's not part of 7500KM service. However, they wrongly charged for wheel alignment as well which was taken out with a credit note. My final payable was Rs 728.
Thanks to fellow Tiago owner Muthukumar who gave his unused LHS ORVM skull cap. I now run with gloss black ORVMs on both sides
As always, avoided washing the car from them to prevent swirl marks. But then their new water spraying machine caught me and so requested to wash under-body alone. Turns out, the check list print out stood out inside the workshop and I noticed they reading through my points which are far better than typical SA's scribbling. It also ensured they did not do any of their regular stuff (like washing, topping up of wiper fluid etc) and adhered to my special requests.

And some Tiago friends too. BTW, these gentlemen are watching the car wash process:
That's all folks. Happy motoring .
