Your thoughts are welcome on this
Pictures looks good but I doubt if it will be a perfect fit. Also there is no cut out for dead pedal. Please order only if they offer return policy. Please also consider buying noodle mats by sq ft and cut to fit as a DIY project. It's easy to do and may work out cheaper as well. [:)]

Re: Tata Tiago Petrol XZ - A Layman's Review: 20,000 Kms Update

Hi,

My car was parked with cover on it, someone hit left side mirror just breaking the black plastic that joints the mirror to car, nothing major damage... but service center guys telling it should be replaced full unit (Rs. 2800, painting extra) as no spare will come separately... I feel spare parts cost is too much and just for small damages like this need to replace whole thing????... I have no option but to replace it with new one, any ideas?

Unfortunately this one specific part is quite vulnerable and costs too much to replace in ALL cars.
In my WagonR (VXi) somebody intentionally broke mirror of left ORVM. I took it to Maruti Authorised Service Station and the amount they quoted for this supposedly small job made my heart skip a beat. It was approximately Rs 18,000 for both side units. Since these are motorised and they don't sell any spare part related to it, it costs so much.

Instead of claiming insurance for it, I took it to local car repair market and purchased a 'tukdi' (mirror piece only) for Rs. 80 and paid 20 bucks to the person who fitted it with help of FeviQuick. [glasses]

For your damage also, I'd suggest to look in local car repair market. Many shops sell OEM products fetched from scrapped cars/parts. Even a locally manufactured one works properly. Just check it is operating normally in all aspects while buying.

Talk to your local FNG instead of the ASS. They may repair it. The plastic parts, if broken can welded by plastic welding.

Harman Music System Remote Control:
A couple of weeks back, I had requested my SA to procure the IR remote for audio system (got the part number from another owner, many thanks to him). After few phone call follow ups, I lost hope and interest in getting it. To my surprise, my SA stopped by the lounge with the remote control in his hand. It was priced reasonably at ₹539 so I instantly approved the purchase. Wife will be happy to use it from rear seats [:D].
Please share the part number here for our benefit too.
TIA, from a TAI-ger driving TIAgo [:)]

Collinite 845 Wax
One of my buddies recently flew from US to India for his vacation and was able to bring along a bottle of Collinite 845 wax for me. It costed ~$19 from Amazon US website and is imported for us in India by Greenzcarcare.com, bringingbest.in. Collinite products are praised by the detailing industry world wide, and I liked its results on my car as well. Though I did not polish my car before applying this, I expect it to last longer than Meguiar's Hi Tech Yellow Wax which hardly lasted 2 to 3 weeks for me. I had read through this guide from auto geek online several times and ensured to follow his tips during application.

Dipped in hot water for about 10 minutes and shook the bottle to liquefy contents. Thanks to my TAI detailing mentor CRACING for sending me one of his microfiber applicator pads (the green one below). With it's huge diameter and a nice sleeve to hold, wax application was never so easy for me. It also absorbs leftover water droplets on the panel gaps/joints unlike foam pads which I used earlier.

After buffing. Visually I did not find any difference between Collinite 845 and Meguiar's Hi Tech Yellow Wax in terms of shine. However, 845 seems to have boosted the color a little more than Meg's.

Glossiness is more pronounced under shade:

Some playful kids at a village tore off one side of my black tail wraps so I had to remove the other side as well [cry]:

Water beading on the second day:

So it's now time to wait and watch how the 845 fares in our environmental condtions. I will be more than happy if it lasts for a month's time. [:)]

Got my tail lights tinted again. This time with good quality wraps, sourced from US through a friend (product link). Being 1.5ft tall, there was no need to patch up with a second sticker on the top, like my first wrap job. This is also a shade lighter than my old wraps.

Also wrapped ORVM and B pillars with carbon fiber pattern. This wrap was bought from Amazon India for dirt cheap price (Rs 299 for 2x4 feet). Product link.

The guys at the shop couldn't get the wrap to stretch around ORVMs and had to cut it on the inside. I was getting late and didn't have the mood to start a fight with them.

Hood lip too wrapped in CF pattern:

Re: Tata Tiago Petrol XZ - A Layman's Review: 20,000 Kms Update

Thanks Prabhagar. will escalate it. will update this forum for the community.
Hi All.. the AC issue is sorted out after escalation to tata.

it was a complete different way they treated me after the escalation with such politeness and willingness to listen.

Hope this can be the case everytime for every customer and just not after escalation.

TASC said Tata has issued a updated part called the "temperature cam". im not sure if this is the actual term though. after changing this the temperature on all the AC vents are the same.

Heard similar complaints coming up to many people. You guys have a fix now.

Regards
Andrew.

Hey glad to know this is finally resolved. If you could please upload your invoice copy, other owners can refer to the part number if they have the same issue.
