Re: Tata Tiago Petrol XZ - A Layman's Review: Third Service Update

Anybody got P2P plan for tata tiago. Here in tirichy the SA is not aware of such plan. He says only AMC available. Is this region specific?
Hi Hari, P2P is not region specific and is available throughout India. Please show the P2P brochure pics from my earlier posts (you can lookup the link from my first post) and ask them to get it for you. I am guessing they are not properly trained on the products and services of TML.

Thanks prabhakar,
I will do like that. What is your overall opinion regarding the quote I got here from tirichy dealer. How is the service in coimbatore. Here in tirichy I didn't find any tiago on the road. Only indica can be found that also call taxi. Don't know much about the quality of service.

Re: Tata Tiago Petrol XZ - A Layman's Review: Third Service Update

Hi all,
I didn't know such a thread existed. Had I known earlier I would have checked it by now. Anyways I have almost read all the comments posted in this thread in regards to my new car Tata Tiago. I have bought it just over 2 months and had my first servicing done.
No issue was there at all, everything runned so smoothly till day before yesterday when I realized that car is vibrating at idle.
By the way I had Tiago XZ 1.2 petrol. And it was manufactured in the month of June, 2017 and I bought it In August.
Till day before yesterday there was no vibration at idle, but all of a sudden it's vibrating. I switched off the ac, still it's vibrating. But the moment I increase the rpm it gets smoother - no vibration at all.
The steering, the gear box, the driver's sit and even the passenger seat next to driver's seat is also vibrating. And it's very annoying as the traffic in kolkata is very infamous. So one can't handle this vibration siting idle in a car while having a B2B traffic.
I had talked to the Kolkata service center lady today - Lexus Motors and they have asked me to bring the car on coming Monday.
I don't know why it's happening. But I have read so many comments in regards to vibration in this thread that I'm a bit confused. Someone says that keeping the ac off reduces the vibration, someone says change/replace some parts and some others say replace something else all together. Some even says that being a 3 potter it's normal. My concern is if it was normal then why wasn't it there from day 1? Why now after 2 and a half months it starts vibrating all of a sudden. However it's absolutely smooth on the move.
Can someone please throw some light on this? Is it some thing very serious. And I must confess it's not just a sporadic vibration, it's continuous and very irritating as if I'm sitting in an old ambassador kind of stuff.
Here I would like to say this is my first car and I have no idea about these cars whatsoever. I have only driven my father's endeavor (earlier) and later on city ivtech.
Please suggest.

As mentioned by Akash ji, I would buy insurance outside to save minimum 5K, push the dealer to waive off handling charges, and buy P2P (4 yrs / 60K KM) instead of AMC.

Hi there, I do have idle vibrations, but it's within my tolerance levels (changes for every person). In your case, I am not sure why it started all of a sudden. Is it possible for you to upload a video of your idle vibrations? In any case, please have your TASC folks investigate the issue and let us know how it goes.

Friends, I am confused between tiago XZ & XZA AMT version. I never owned a car so have no experience in this area. I prefer AMT version as it gives relaxed tension free driving experience. But I don't know whether this has any downside. Please help me with your expert advice.

Given the ever increasing traffic, i would suggest going for the AMT. It may not be as smooth as other costly automatic technologies, but it does the job well for an average Joe. The only downside i can see is some jerks which will be experienced in lower gears (1-3 mainly). Please try and test drive the AMT variant to have a first hand feel of the same.

You could add Tigor XTA and XZA to the mix, these have been launched today, priced 5.8L &6.25L., and see what suites your needs.

Hi, tiago is ok for me. I am not extending my budget further. Today took a test drive & booked tiago XZA immediately. According to dealer it may take 3 weeks for delivery.

Wow.. that's a good news.. Eager to see review of TIGOR Automatic..
Tigor automatic should be similar to Tiago AMT. I dont think there will be much difference in the way they behave. Do we have any Tiago AMT ownership review here? I am keen on understanding the way AMT behaves with the petrol motor. I have a celerio AMT at home and it is always keen on shifting gears, unnecessarily. I hope that AMT behaves normally with a bigger engine as compared to celerio.

Hi friends,
Booked TIAGO XZA striker blue. Thanks for your valuable advice and reviews here. It will take two to three weeks to deliver.
I decided to take insurance outside which saves some money. Dealer charges 6500 towards handling charge and they are not ready to reduce it.
In the meantime I am preparing a list necessary accessories which I should buy. Can you suggest some essential accessories.

Congrats Hari. Hope you have checked with other dealers if they are not charging handling charge. Nice choice of color in between. It has become my favorite color now which grows on you. There is a thread on Tiago accessories do check out.

Congratulations on your XZA booking. Blue was in my short list as well and it still enjoys exclusivity as there aren't many on roads. On accessories, please check out the below thread and post your questions:
