Avoid mud flaps, they will look terrible. Same goes for rear bull guard... they will make your car look like a "taxi".
Well looks are subjective but it depends on what kind of rear bull guard you pick. And in NCR region you find almost 80% SUV's with rear bull guard since it saves your car from rear attack by bikers, taxi's, auto and even some stupid drivers who are in hurry.

It's better to have a rare guard rather than giving your vehicle to a paint shop or the dealer for getting some scratches and dent's fixed on the rear end of your car.[:)]

is best to avoid this display vehicle.
TD vehicle is best avoided.

No, it was not TD vehicle but I was referring to the demo piece that has been enclosed within Glass walls of a Show room with one catch in this case is "Date of manufacture" - December 2012. I discouraged from going that route after further thought through. Total discount on this vehicle Storme VX is 50k with Zero waiting. [:)]

@all -

The dealers are encouraging to go for self insurance, currently my Fiesta is with Bajaj Allianz but could you please suggest the better provider from the below list from your experience.

1) ICICI Lombard insurance
2) Bajaj All
3) Royal Sundaram
4) TATA AIG

Please suggest in case you happen to have any recommendations on below dealers -

1) India Garage
2) MPL
3) Zulekha

Almost all have quoted more or less same discount, 5k worth of accessories, fyi.

In theory that has nothing to do with marriage. [:)] Moreover the discount are not "huge" on XUV at the moment.

Coming to the CARS availability both TATA / Mahindra delaers have said that they can deliver specific colors within a week time? Other colors would take 3 -4 weeks after placing the order.

Tata - White and UB readily available

Mahindras - Almost all colors within a weeks time but that said they also commit to deliver in a week time even that color is not in their yard at the moment.

Other than Month of manufacturing are there any other things I need to be checking prior to place my order if the color of my choice is readily available? M & M dealers tell me even the color is not exiting with them at the moment they can deliver in a week time. Could you help me understand how the process works from your understanding?

you need to try negotiating further.

until you book your car, you can always haggle for more freebies. more discounts, upgrade to better alloys etc.

Assuming you have decided which car suits you in your budget . And having your priorities set right .
The following will be logical steps to carry .

1) decide the dealer

2) variant

3) color

4) take insurance from outside or make the dealer match the market qoute the best one which you are getting . And also research which insurance companies offer cashless insurance .

5) place dealers against each other and force them for discounts or freebies .

6) once booked ask for VIN number and then post it on forum and guys will decode it for you .or use this Vehicle history and vin number check, car information by vin number
The dealer might tell you anything but the VIn number will exactly tell you when the car was made .

7) do a PDI

8) take the delivery

9 click many pics .

10) delight us with a ownership report with many pics .

But why you want to know the process ? Its their look out to get the color you want .

You must be concerned with VIN number which will show you exact manufacturing month suhas . And check the VIN number physically on the car too if it matches to the one given to you by dealer .

And then you must give enough time to do a PDI when the car reaches stockyard before registration to see if things are perfect or if there are some obvious issues which need attention .

You can take a printout of the PDI list with you which is on the forum .

We must not be concerned so much about how they bring the car to us in one week , it is their logistic departments headache .

Stand second to you, I should not be much worried about how the dealer manages to get me a color of my choice whether or not it is in his current fleet. But still wanted to make sure that me pushing on delivery date should not allow them to cut corners and compromise on "Quality of Vehicle".

I got the PDI downloaded.

How soon I dealer would be able to get me the VIN after placing the order?
