All that hype about the Duster and here we are with rattles and seating problems already. And the videos demostrating the water issue is just too much. How can Renault release a product with so much design issues. And people rant about TATA's quality checks, huh. [surprise]

If a product doesn't sell, it all of a sudden becomes a 'class' product. I have a strong feeling the people at Tata think among similar lines; no wonder the company finds itself in this pitiful situation.

Freakdude this further enhances the opinion that high sales dosent allways means a better car . We have many cars in the market which are superb yet sale very less example rapid , fabia , yeti , sunny , micRa / pulse , punto .

Wow Raja thats really an eye opener. But I am not that surprised because A) Its a Dacia
B) its a Renault. Both of the companies have a dodgy image when it comes to quality and reliability. I always suspected that something like this would happen, thats why did not even bother for a T.D. I was studding the international renault surveys and really they also have a LOT of electrical problem.
Sales never say that a car is better.Some more examples- The Cedia,Xtrail,baleno etc.
Agree that people thrash Tata a lot.
There is something in the Tata group that many other companies could not do. They bought JLR and completely changed the ugly and outdated Jag to something so irresistible.
I am happy that Tata is all original and Indian. Its not like other Chinese brands who copy and have no identity.
Renault is just changing the badge of others cars and selling it here. If they dont change and improve this new issue then they might loose their image.
Expect more videos.

The most powerful citizen of this nation told that he is a father of three doughters and understands gender issues better.

Yes his statement holds more value than the father of Nirbhaya,because number does mater than the truth and rationale.

By the way ,democracy is not the way to label the cars as good or bad.

Not done my buddy, kindly bring some more...AT LEAST THE RATIO SHOULD BE NEAR TO THAT OF ARIA OWNERS. But yes, interior of Duster doesn't look high quality at least(in fact I won't even put my money on something like this) but still, the car drives quite well, but it's overpriced..hell overpriced, no doubt. BTW, I don't understand why Yeti is overpriced, I always find it's price well justified for all it offers!!:stupid:
BTW, what is Duster doing here now?? We are already having Scorpy, XUV, Fortuner and STORME.

If I go with majority members opinion on the forums, the initial niggles and problems are acceptable for the new launched vehicles like XUV,Duster,Storme, but

What about Scorpio, it is not a new launch and thousands of niggles being reported(do not ask for source, you can find them plenty on the web) even today, so

1. how can you say that you bought scorpio with a confidence that it is niggle free
2. what made you to conclude that scorpio is niggle free completely

I happened to meet a Duster owner yesterday in a marriage party who is my friend, he was so happy for buying Duster initially but he is not very happy these days as he never feel it as a SUV(in number of aspects) and he has also faced some problems like the one reported by Raja. I mean to say that initial hype made him to buy it but after using it for some time he is not happy with his decision and I am sure that none of the Storm owner will report this even after years(example is safari owners). This is not in the context of niggles, this is in the context of personal driving or ownership feeling[:)]

I think you need to chill out .
I just wanted to say that everything can not be justified on the basis of numbers.Atleast we tax payers should analyse the things rationally. Sales number only matters if it is so low that it leads to discontinuation of a product leading to spare part availability problem.

and by large scorpio is niggle free, the initial lot had suspension and brake issues which were corrected along its timeline, but the ratio of sales to the ratio of niggles reported is much lower than their counterparts.

i apologise if my statements have hurt you. i did not mean it.

regarding tatas, it has got to do with local A.S.S which has got into bad name enough so much that it cant be trusted.

the reason dharmesh goes to concorde and not the one available locally.

Well, although OT on this thread, let me tell you this. I don't know what you are waiting for but that niggles thread that you are talking about is never going to reduce in page count ever.

As for stability and all, I have one of these things with me for more than 7 months now. Not the absolute new ones. And I can tell you, fear loves to grow on people like to be afraid. The only real issue was with brakes which is gone a while back now. For the rest of the niggles or at least the most of them (my PW is not working, my steering is not tracking straight etc.) that fill those pages... well! People always like a sob story and given a platform we also like to air one. Fact remains that those M&M is not the first company whose cars need a PW motor fix or a alignment straightening here and there. And when you sell in the numbers that they do every month these things only come out faster.

Bottomline - You wish to take that plunge, go ahead, do it. Do not worry, there is no Loch Ness Monster hiding out there.

2) the one who had more niggles in scorpio

You are actually right, it is more to do with fear psychosis in my case since I already faught and tamed my Loch Ness Monster in my first 2 years of ownership of Scorpio which spent more time at the A.S.S. then me, till the time almost all the major components were replaced, and now it runs like a dream , but yes, it is up for replacement now.

You can’t ignore ad deny the fact that this beauty has been getting 3.5-4k takers per month consistently over this long period of time. Per month ,If its 5 or 400 or 1000 at most, one could argue, even if it is just for the sake of it. [lol]

There can’t certainly be 4000 stupids every month going for Scorpio. Please don’t bring in here Villagers, illiterates, people getting rich by selling land etc as I am bored of reading the same then and again. Let us also give due respect to village and villagers and act a bit more civilized.

Initial niggles if at all any of them had got rectified at ASS and never reappeared again that people are confident in putting their hard earned money in it. Duster is yet to prove its worth and long term reliability ,ASS inclusive.

I also read elsewhere that Storme VX 4x4 costs 17.2L OTR in Bangalore. Are you joking?

The point here is Manoj its not imp allways that high selling number cars are good , even low selling cars are very very good . I bought spark when it was selling just 1200 vs 19000 altos . In 4 years the car is superb and running great with zero problem , did 50,000 Kms service yesterday . People who buy Scorpio are not foolish that is not the point here , but that is no way the only indicator that the product is great .

Banglore has a extremely high tax structure any vehicle seems over priced there , if you find the price a joke well there are many options you can go and buy them just ignore the storme
