Yeah, I meant Merlin will be pitched against scorpio. But then, there had to be some '+' over scorpio atleast in tech goodies. Maybe they will throw in bluetooth connectivity, steering mounted controls etc. & rest like Manza.
GPS had to be there atleast in VX model or whatever top end one. Perhaps Tatas are not thinking beyond reverse guide cam/sensors for Merlin.
Btw, any confirmation about its pricing ?

So seems to be the wait time is Next Auto Expo.
I had a test Drive in the top endl Tata Aria, I personally loved the handling. Very good if you don't mind the sheer size of the thing. Corners very well even if you are little aggressive turning in. Also liked the Seating and the cabin is just very nice place to be in, full marks to TATA on the fit and finish.
I hope atleast the handling and Fit and finish of Safari Merlin is Based on Aria platform if not any of the Land rover/Range rover products
Safari is been a real joy to watch since childhood, If TATA can give some respect really put in effort for the actual vehicle just like they make an Awesome Safari Advertisement it will wonderfull

Dont know when is tata really going to launch their new safari,Merlin.Its been a year since we have been seeing this test mules and still they have not got their testings done.I dont care what interiors they give, what difference it comes out with, but a vehicle costing this high should be niggle free,better fitments and screws tightned well to compete with scorpio as well as new XUV as well.

Get a niggle free TATA Vehicle..
I think Tata may be trying to upgrading or improving performance/ride quality anything whatsoever that will make the Safari best in its class.
More than 1 year of testing etc just doesnt make sense.

On one hand, we say that Tata should produce a reliable and trouble free car and on the other hand, we say that continuous testing does not makes sense. How?

i really never understand why people say tata is unreliable . they are as reliable as toyota only here there small niggle which keep coming which make life bit uncomfortable

@ 350Z - Guess u miss-understood me... Safari has been there from more then 10 years now and was a flagship model for TATA for quite some time, and By the looks of the market Safari merlin shud hv been out by now. Even for Aria since the test mule was out it took about 8 months for the real car to surface, My facts might be not exact.
Its been almost since 2010 Mid there has been news about the new Tata Safari Merlin. With XUV500, thee 4x2 version of Yeti, Force one Suv in the market and Mahindra already closing its booking for XUV500 at a awesome 10000 number in its first month. Tata's needs to Get this baby out.
My brother drives a 2007 Innvoa, which he bought from a second hand show room in Bangalore. it had done about 80,000 Kms. Today its clocking 3,70,000 Kms, if we start the vehicle today its like a vehicle after its 2nd or 3rd service or which has done about 25000 kms. Even the interiors are still in place are do not wobble or vibrate. Well I agree We are paying abt 14 lakhs + for a new high end version of Innova but its worth for the reliability and refinement.
So as per the Rumors Merin is placed at 14laks, So we should be expecting that level of reliability and refinement.
