I was quoted 1200 for door visor in TASS pune. 883 is quite affordable. Can you please share the source of this information? Seems except for door visor they have increased the price for all the accessories. [frustration]

TATA NANO Revotron Turbo Officially Confirmed

Turbocharged Nano Project is ON – Officially Confirmed

There are exactly one thousand two hundred and seventy two variants of Nano in the works so that at least a few may work! On a serious note the latest Nano GenX loaded with AMT appears to be ‘The Nano‘ that should click for Tata. It should end up being the kick the Pune based manufacturer was waiting for… But what apart from this, if you may ask….

Back in June 2014, the first whispers of a Turbocharged Nano being under works emerged. But hey a Nano with a turbocharged engine…? really? And in a latest interview with Autocar Pro, Tata’s Senior VP Programme Planning & Project Management, Girish Wagh, officially confirmed that they are, indeed, working on a Turbocharged version of the cute little Nano!

He further said that the turbocharged version of the car will be for the more passionate car lovers in the country and to give Nano a sportier inclination. With this, they also have plans to build upon the ‘Nano’ brand, which has been given an ultimatum by Cyrus Mistry to Perform or Perish!

Currently Tata offers a Turbocharged engine on their Bolt hatchback but for sure, if Nano gets one, it will be a lot smaller. We do not think Tata may add a turbocharger to the current 624cc NA engine and instead they may just use a shortened version of the 1.2L Revotron, possibly a three-cylinder motor or something. However, its all conjectures at this time but what gets confirmed is that the project ‘Nano Turbocharged’ is definitely under consideration! Our thumbs up Tata, Bring it on…

The Gen X Nano has reached Coimbatore. Visited SRT Tata yesterday to have a quick peek.
First impressions are very good as the Paint quality and design elements are very good.
Build quality and metal strength of doors, bonnet, pillars and hatch are much better than the previous Nano and the Alto.
The Interior ambience and quality have improved by a large margin, with the help of better quality materials and the upmarket looking steering wheel. Seats are as usual well-bolstered and Space is as usual the Nano's forte. The only grouse is that people with medium build will feel the steering wheel brushing against the thighs. There is a lack of bottle-holders in the Nano, apart from the pocket ahead of the gear-lever in the manual variant and the dual glove-boxes.
The opening hatch is the highlight of the new Nano. The manual variant Nano can hold 110L, which is enough for a weekend trip luggage.
The showroom car had accessories worth 23K; black alloys and black/red seat covers.
I loved the black alloys design and they looked fabulous on the Sangria red car.
Some special points: There are no roof-ribs on the roof of the new Nano, while the previous version had them. This gives an idea that the roof has been significantly strengthened better.
Also, the Manual variant XT has the power window switches placed behind the gear-lever while the XTA has them ahead of the gear lever.
On road price of the XTA AMT variant is quoted around 3.4L On-road, Coimbatore. I guess it's completely worth the price and has great value. Great package for a City car.
Test drive will be available within 10 days for the AMT variant.
Would be even better if TATA brings some higher variant with a bigger engine (or Turbo) with external fuel cap, disc brakes and driver airbag.

I quoted these prices from Team-BHP website. What I fail to understand is why TATA is not showing these accessories on their official GenX website. Clearly this is very lazy attitude from website guys. These are good accessories and should be aggressively advertised and marketed.

Waw! When was this spotted? Clearly the tires are larger and the car has a sporty stance. I thought that was an external fuel-port. Add a cool set of alloys (preferably black), disc brakes, driver airbag, some cool decals or spoiler and nice sporty interior colors; this will be to package to beat. Is the turbo added on the same 600cc motor or is it a downsized version of the 1.2 Revotron (maybe with 3 or 2 cylinders)?

According to Motorbeam.com TATA Motors working Two new variants of TATA NANO

turbo charged version 624cc twin cylinder powered TATA NANO capable to produce around 45 to 50BHP

and TATA NANO with Bigger 800cc to 1000cc 3cylinder petrol engine produces around 55 bhp to 58bhp

Tata To Launch Performance Nano With Turbo For Enthusiasts
Tata Motors is working on a turbocharged version of the Nano that will be added to the twin-cylinder engine while an 800-1000cc engine is also under development to make the Nano driver engaging.

The GenX Easy Shift is the latest update received to the Nano small car and Tata Motors has certainly done a good job with the upgrades that include an openable boot and AMT unit. However, the Nano still loses out on power and the twin-cylinder engine certainly does not manage to suffice the needs of the driving enthusiast. Now, in a bid to make the Nano more appealing to the enthusiast, Tata Motors is working on a turbocharged version of the hatchback.
The Tata Nano is powered by a 624cc twin-cylinder engine that produces 38 PS of power and 51 Nm of torque, paired to a 4-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT unit. While the hatchback offers decent performance within city limits, the lack of punch from the puny engine is severely felt on the highway. More so, if you are on inclines and you need to press the accelerator really hard to crawl forward. In comparison, its closest competitors the Maruti Alto and Hyundai Eon offer 48 BHP and 56 BHP respectively. The turbocharged unit will suffice the need for power from the same twin-cylinder motor but is at the exploring stage at present, the company stated.
In addition to the turbocharged version, Tata is also working on new variants of the Nano that will be launched with bigger 800-1000cc engines to rival the Alto, Eon and Datsun GO. The bigger motor with around 50-55 BHP of power coupled with the Nano’s light weight will be a peppy performer while also being able to carry five adults over long distances. The strategy is in tandem with what Maruti and Hyundai did with the Alto K10 and Eon 1.0-litre variant after customers complained about the lack of power from the 800cc engine.

I think the new Kite will be Nano with 800/100cc engine otherwise there is no point in having two different cars in same category.

Upcoming TATA kite is powered by All New Aluminium Block 3cylinder 12valves 1197cc petrol engine is capable to produce 84Bhp and 115NM torque with VVT and 70 to 75BHP without VVT and with VVT and turbo charged version produces 115BHP and 175NM torque

and coming back to TATA NANO's 3pot 800cc - 1000cc engine is based on current twin cylinder 624cc 4valves engine so by adding addition cylinder power will bump from 38.19BHP to 50 or 55BHP so both engines are different

So tata pit against these engines to maruti line up for example

-800cc to 1000cc 3cylinder version of 624cc engine will competite with maruti's 800cc engine and k10 engine

-All alluminium 1197cc 12valves petrol engine direct competite with maruti's k10 engine and with VVT engine competite with maruti's k12 engine

Another bad ad on GenxNano. What are they trying to convey..?[anger] Really frustrated. And not much vast change in customer experience is a concern. And what is the expected sales? 3-4k is what I'm expecting as a maximum..

Ok. But then its not very different from Bolt with 1193 cc, 4 cylinder, Max power 90 @ 5000
Max torque 140 @ 1500-4000 (especially Turbo charged version).
So is Kite is just lite version of Bolt?

In future line-up TATA dont use Zest/Bolt's Revotron 1.2T engine its just made for TATA ZEST/BOLT and may have chance to use in their commercial vehicles because Revotron 1.2T engine is not that fuel efficient like k12 and kappa2 engines its based on generation old cost iron engine block its not suitable for passenger cars in coming days tata will stick to all alumium 1.2L cylinder engine for their upcoming all new cars like kite4,kite4 and TATA Nexon compact SUV. if TATA ZEST or BOLT taste they sucess in their respective segments tata may have chance to replace Revotron 1.2T engine with Revotron 1.2NG

Some sources are saying that TATA NANO GenX MT and TATA NANO GenX AMT have some different mechanical design changes like NANO AMT exhaust pit not is positioned in left side rear of the car and rediator is moved to front but in TATA NANO GenX MT(manual transmission) version their is no changes in engine bay that are seen in AMT version the exhaust not is positioned center of the car and radiator is at rear like regular tata nano for reference see below images

can any one visited to tata showroom to confirm this

I have few doubts.

Can I install rear power window kit in GenX? is it worth (my mother will have hard time rolling the window manually)

How important is air freshener for this small car?

Are tinted windows legal? Can I install them?
