Re: What’s Wrong with Tata Motors? An Open Letter To Karl Slym

@maran,

What suspension are you talking about sir? Suspension has so many parts in it. Is it the struts? Is it the bushes? What part exactly causes you problems?

I'd owned an old gen Indigo for 5 years clocking 125000 kms along the way. And it was used in NH17 and Shiradi ghats. I dint face any issue with suspension. I changed the struts after 85000 kms. And that too only front ones. I've just clocked 59000kms in my Grande now, its suspension is perfectly fine. MY uncles Scorpio has only done 80000kms (7 years) and has changed the shocks 2 times already, Changed the alternator, numerous times the windshield washer pipe etc etc. Does that make Scorpio also a crap in your opinion.

Lets not bash a product assuming things. There are so many parameters that can result in a failed suspension.

Re: What’s Wrong with Tata Motors? An Open Letter To Karl Slym

Had a 2004 Indica V2 which need replacement very badly so in the month of nov 2011.

Now time to decide so planned for test drive

TATA MANZA

MANZA Class Apart became my car on 6 FEB 2012.]

After taking the Delivery

First Niggle

>Vehicle started pulling towards left when the hands are taken off from the steering
>Rear Suspension Sound

I feel that you must be suffering from double personality.
If someone opens above post and read it, he will understand that you purchased the car in Feb 12. Since the delivery day your car was suffering from unresolved worrisome] issues like ,
issues like,
Car pulling to one side,
Second quality tyres,
Pathetic ASS,
Bluffing on the part of workers and bosses of TASS,
Noise from various suspension,
and what not.

But at the end of year 2012 you have voted for Manza for the prestigious award ' THE CAR OF THE YEAR 2012'(as quoted bellow). And worst part is that Manza was not even a contestant for the award!

@Autosafari , do you think Mr. karl would take this letter seriously ?

IF its
sedan -Manza
Budget SUV-Safari Storme
Safety SUV-Aria
Hatch Back-Vista

Premium SUV-Pajero sport

Maranprashant has owned & used v2 indica for " 7 years " . What puzzles me is now Maran prashant is saying tata cars are bad and useless yet he keeps buying them inspite of having so many options in the market .

And another confusing thing is , he believes all tata cars are bad and at the same time thinks as per the post quoted by you of him all tata cars are best in class in their segments and deserve awards .[confused]

It becomes hence difficult to take maranprashant post seriously or not seriously .

@maranprashanth,

I'm using Vista VX from April 16, 2012 to Till today, I've not faced any issue with my Vista. Why my Vista is trouble free!! Am I using my Vista occasionally!!. Nope, in 1year 3Months, my Vista crossed 33,700Kms. Still feeling strong.Even we have tested the build quality of Vista by rear-ending with a Dizre.

want to see the Build Quality, check the below pics:

Photo-0011.jpg

2013-02-16 10.38.03.jpg

For me, TASS is not a problem . they are doing a very very good Job. I appreciate their tinkering & painting work done after the accident.

What I like in Vista is Suspension. It is the best part in Vista. Even during my Munnar trip, I've covered 1074Km in a single day. But, I never felt any tried. Not only me, even my parents also not felt any tried.

The Vista often getting problems with the Fan Motors and Power windows

They them self say its only a eye wash
till today, all the Electrical/Electronic items are working well.

so far I've attended the 3 TAI meet, one in Vellore and other two in Bangalore. Most of our South TAI members seen my Vista & they know the condition & status of my Vista. I never hidden anything about my car.

@ navneet & all

Kindly read the following re- quoted post below which are written by none other then maranprashant himself .

they are written on 10th and 17th February 2013 . Source of the re-quoted post is also provided .

In the below re-qouted posts written by maranprashant himself he is suggesting and debating how cost effective , reliable and strong , durable Tata cars are in general and how Tata motors has best in class warranty and change parts without any fuss incase of something going wrong .

Not only that he is infact suggesting tata cars ( manza club class ) to new memebers on the forum who are researching sedan as their next buy for their hard earned money .

All this makes me wonder which post of maranprashant must be taken seriuosly and which must not be taken seriously .[confused]

@Manish: Manza is a good vehicle Valu For Money

Good suspension
Great Brakes
Touch screen with steering control
ABS is good will nil jerk while braking

20000Kms my maintance is only syntetic oil and filters totally Rs.6000 only

Anything you want or have problem in manza immedeatly gets changed in warranty

Front suspension alone i got changed completely in warranty so no need to worry its great to own

As others said the old Manza tends to visit the ASS often but the new Club Class they have improved the rattling plastics now its peace to own no negative tracks

@alexddas
How do you know TML vehicles are finding dificult to cross 1L mark???IF there are any problem with engine the TML Guys change the whole engine free of cost the TATA SUMO GOLD gets default warrenty upto 1,00,000Kms and can be extnded extra 50,000 How about Bolero?
Bolero gets corrosion soon and faster than other vehicles in india
Bolero is a MUV designed like a dog catching van

Actually both Sumo and Bolero both are having goods carrier engine and both are lowest maintance and service free vehicle but Sumo Gold is
more reliable
low cost spares
Service Network
User friendly Car
Spacious and it means to be comfortable MUV in its class with Power Full Good A/C

SUMO VICTA BS II/III IDI 90 PS Tourist with 100%A/C Drive have crossed 3,78,000Km without opening engine once.

i did FIP overhauling at 2,10,000 Kms costed Rs.10,000 or else only oil change filter change the vehicle is still running

The 3.0 CR4 was already doin its for 25 years in 407,Spacio,207,609 and Even as 120PS DiCOR also they have runned those goods carrier vehicle for more than 5,00,000 Kms and they reach this mark in the time of 2years so this engine is well proved and there will be no issues.

The 1L Kms mark was the problem with the Old Indica DLS 98-2000 models and though the maintance was cost effective and the Indica is like Monopoly
Normally the TML Engine is made for cost effective parts performance and efficient as per the principle of MB
Where as
Bolero is having use and throw A/C
Noisy Engine
Vibration of the Vehicle is high
Poor quality of Body
Poor Seating
Worst Leg room in its class
Poor suspension
Modified ARMADA (which previously was a better option)
Uncomfortable seats

@ALL the M&M gives only 50,000Kms warrenty for its vehicle this is to be noticed and A/C are not included in warrenty

THE COMPARISON IS SHOULD BE BETWEEN TWO VEHICLES AND NOT TO CRITISIZE OR UNDER ESTIMATE THE MANUFACTURER

the same with my Manza. In 2011, We traveled from Trivandrum to Chennai, spent around 6 hours over there and travelled back to Trivandrum. It was around 1600 kms of journey. I was driving the car 90% of the time. Did not feel tired at all, so do my family members. I wud say the comfort in Manza is far far far better than Dzire/Fiesta Classic/Verito/Etios.

Re: Tata Safari Storme Road Test Drive Review

the odometer now shows 43796.

Im driving it for the past 3 years. My father uses it once in a while.
Since member maranprashant is boldly claiming that " ALL MANZA'& CLUB CLASS MANZA's " are having problems with AC and Un reliable suspensions .

Since you have used the car for 3 years and clogged 43796 Kms do you agree with his statements ?

Iam asking because it is important for readers to know if the problem is existing in all manzas claimed by maranprashant or not .

No.. Not at all. There is no problems in the AC till now. I have around 5 friends who own Manza. They dont have any issue with the AC or the suspension.

Recently there was a issue with the glow-plugs and I replaced the all four plugs. This issue was posted in TAI too.

The only problem that keeps me irritating in Manza is the rattling sound. Apart from it I dont have any issue with it.

Overall Im very happy with Manza. [:)]

Re: Tata Safari Storme Road Test Drive Review

- Manza AC is chiller, Owners or Vento/Rapid/Corolla who have driven/taken ride my car were taken aback by AC cooling effect. Over cooling AC cannot be stated as a problem in a hot country like India.

Kindly note, in India no manufacturer is perfect. Do you think issues dont crop in Maruti/Hyundai/Mahindra vehicles? The major problem with TATA is TASS and not the manufacturing per se.
The AC in manza is really Chiller in this segment. But the AC in Figo is really a CHILLER.

Major problem in TATA is TASS is 100% right. Infact, they are changing now. Can able to see it nowadays. Would say TASS is better than Mahindra, VW & Ford.

Re: What’s Wrong with Tata Motors? An Open Letter To Karl Slym

Tata Cars are comfortable to travel and there is no doubt about that. Almost all of the Tata Cars/UVs are the most comfortable within the segment and some of them like Manza go a level or two above the segment. Same can be said about ride quality.

We have travelled 1700 km in a single session - almost non stop except lunch break and fuel refilling stops - 3 times in last 2.5 years. During these within 24 hours long trips, none of us travelling in the car felt the need to come out for stretching or relaxing.

Done more than 28000 km in our Manza and no suspension issues so far. There was an ARB bush replacement last year which eliminated a cling sound from suspension while negotiating some humps.

AC in Manza is cooling the cabin within seconds and is a chiller.

TATA has improved a lot on the quality front over last few years, though some minor niggles remain.

If the TATA cars were not durable, Taxi operators all over India (including Mr Prashanth who started this debate) would not have opted for TATA cars.

Re: What’s Wrong with Tata Motors? An Open Letter To Karl Slym

The thing is, we are too arrogant to accept that TATA builds cars that are acceptable and are improving fast.

Just look at the reviews we find in the auto magz. TATA would have lost even before these "enthusiastic" journos have seen the car.

"PRECONCEIVED NOTION" Unless that change, nothing will change.

Then we must also look at 'Marans' complaint about the ICE. Remember him complain about the ICE not accepting his 16gb (or so) Pen drive/ not playing a few audio formats and stuff. Did he not know about compatibility. OR is he (and most of us) expecting TATA to do things like Indian mobile phone companies? Import from China, assemble and sell at half the price of the competitor. Well, if thats the case, then its us who will have to change and not TATA.

We should all be proud that an Indian manufacturer (lets also add Mahindra to this) is putting money on R&D. And not just giving us outsourced products. Give them time to improve. Having said that, if any one from TATA and Mahindra are reading this, the companies should also double their efforts in customer satisfaction.
