Re: Tata Motor’s Cars – The Ultimate Reliability Survey

Hi guys,
This is my first post in TAI forum. Iam very much satisfied with the TATA CAR. Its my first car. Before that i have driven my friends cars. I know what iam buying and how much i pay. I won't race.My preference is space and VFM. Till now iam very much Satisfied.
Actually i booked Swift Dezire first, waited for a month, took multiple test drives, because of limited backside space, i cancelled and went for TATA INDIGO CS with lesser price.(Around 1.5 lacs). But its fun and effortless to drive swift Dezire.

1) Car Model : TATA INDIGO CS LS TDI
2) Date of Purchase : JUL 2008
3) Kms travelled : ~46000
4) Build quality : OK.
5) Customer service experience :GOOD from TATA.
6) A.S.S Experience : Good- if you know the right SA otherwise BAD.
7) Warranty issues : Excellent. No questions asked.
8) if the car has been vfm : yes..100%
9) issues and niggles faced so far: Small regular issues...rectified
10) satisfaction levels (-/10) : 8 . because of ASS .

The only problem with TATA is ASS. Not the product. Some SA's are really capable, but finding the right guy is difficult for normal person. Also most of the time they are overloaded. I have experience in Bangalore ASS only.

Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Tata Motor’s Cars – The Ultimate Reliability Survey

If we go throgh the JDPOWER Associates `custemer satisfaction {ASS} surveys' It is good to see that TATA has improved by 17 points in 2012 over 2011. Also their ranking is improved from No 7 to No.6.
But mahindras have improved by 44 points to take themselves at No.5 slot in 2012 from the bottom slot No.13 of 2011and are marginally ahead of TATA.
So pace of improvement is by leaps and bounds for M&M as compare to TATA.

The 2012' Sales satisfaction (showroom/buying experience)survey' shows that TATAS are at the nadir in India , this explains why they have to come with whopping discount scheme s most of the time. Smart buyers are availing these offers and neglecting the one time poor buying experience.

But taking clue from M&M , if TATA improves faster , I will not change the brand while upgrading my car.

I am now having second thoughts. [confused]

While I am very happy and satisfied with the car as such (space, ride quality, comfort, equipment level, pickup, drive-ability, etc) , I have some reservations about the reliability and tASS.

Going by number of parts that have been changed and niggles faced in this car in under 2 years and around 30,000 kms, I would say that quality is not Tata's strong point. (that the parts have been replaced promptly in warranty, is besides the point)

I tend to compare with my previous 2 cars, Maruti Zens that I had for 13 years (one did 53000 odd kms and the other did some 62000 odd kms)

How many times and what parts were changed in your car ? After replacing them did they break again ?

Hello all
I agree with Highway ranger. Because I have similar experience.
TATA designers have done excellent job in bringing out cars like Manza. But quality control is not upto the mark. And enough has been said about TASS. Though they are improving, lot has yet to be done.
What I have understood (made out) from my TATA vehicle ownership, is that though your TATA ride will keep on giving you small niggles, it will never let you down.

Re: Tata Motor’s Cars – The Ultimate Reliability Survey

Great thread guys, tata cars well nothing to say about the space tata gives inside their cars, amazing.
Ownership report, well owned tata indica dls,2005, silver,
kms: 56850
not a single break down in this 8 years of ownership
yes small niggles, loose screws, nuts, timing belt loose,
twice battery changed
once tyres got changed which is like routine wear and tear department
But overall i am a satisfied tata owner, at the price of 3.4L on road price 8 years back, i loved my indica which continued to serve me superbly, older DI engine which kept giving me regular 16-17kmpl in city and 19-20 kmpl on highways.
But my issues as like others shared are with customer satisfaction at their dealership and ASS department, most of the people are half knowledgable,no promptness, small issues has to be rectified couple of times, these small niggles puts u off from this brand, other then that the journey atleast if i compare with my indica till now is commendable with improvement in products each passing year, hope they does the same in better much better and speeder way at dealership,ASS department too. They have their products to compete in top level, need to pull up their other departments too.

I too some times get such feeling as some rattles come up and go , but the fact remains unanswered that competition is also not able to give better product
at same price. If we deal with TASS intellegently, the reliability is not big issue IMO.
