Re: 9 Months Old Tata Manza – 2 Months / 5000 Kms Ownership Review

@HR, I also do the same, now searching flat bottles in the market as cylindrical bottles may damage the pocket sooner or latter.

Ideally tata should have provided door pockets with swelled up rear ends, like dzire.
Yes Tata cars generally have small door pockets,in my XETA's door pockets you can not put any bottle larger than 1 lt.

Though my friend puts these 1 lt. bottles in front of the gear lever in his Vista,is this facility not available in Manza?

Manza should immediately borrow door pockets from xeta.
Leave aside 1 lit, even if half lit. bottle if placed in it , falls inside horizontaly , making its removal difficult.

Tata have left unnessesary space, in between the seat edge and the door pocket, which could have been used for 1 litre bottle holder.

@gypsy,500 ml can can't fit snugly in the front bottle holder.

Re: 9 Months Old Tata Manza – 2 Months / 5000 Kms Ownership Review

Let me clarify certain misconceptions about manza water bottle holders.
Manza has water bottle tray underneath the front left seat where three 1 lt bottle will fit in & the tray is provided with a lock for safety.

The holders are not for bottle of any kind, they are cup holders 2 in front of gear lever & 2 on back seat arm rest, at max you can put a coke can but not to be used while driving as both cup & coke can will spill off, its assumed that these will be used for short breaks on stationary car not while driving.

Since I do long trips often I do understand that you want to drink water without stopping but that is not what car designers want you to do, it can be fatal for you as well as other road users. Family members sitting behind cannot access the front tray so they do feel the need, I wish that tray had both side access from back & front. I am planning to get seat covers with side bottle holders that's the best solution I have found.

Re: 9 Months Old Tata Manza – 2 Months / 5000 Kms Ownership Review

I enquired some guys doing seat cover if that can be done. They all said that they will not do it.

Even my laptop bag has a side net pocket which holds a bottle without any problem.

As far as the storage place under the passenger seat, it cannot be accessed while driving single. But we always keep 2 /3 bottle in it when we go on long trips in addition to the on in the rear pocket of the passenger seat.

Although, keeping a bottle in the rear pocket sags the pocket, it makes it easier to put the bottle back without taking your eyes off the road.

@Tornado : All the features you say about your AURA are mouthwatering. What a pity they have removed many of features in the new AURA. Mine is July manufacture. The seat does not have pockets in the back. though I have installed seat covers which has pocket in back of both front seats.

About the rubrails. what a pathetic finish they have done. Mine only 6 months old the right side rear door's rubrail has come out. They ahve clips to hold in the three holes in door. It fell off. By luck it fell while I opened door. If it had fallen somewhere while driving then i have to buy it seperately. I m now giving it for free service next week. Would be telling TASS to fix it.

@rudolf, There is nothing to feel sad about the feature reduction, as it's common marketing gimmick to to give some discount and take away some features in all type of bussiness( cellphone prices, branded shoes monsoon sales).
It was not possible to get BS3 registration @ bengluru, chennai address in your case, otherwise dealer would have given you the option.

BTW how much discount you got?

About the rubrail , please visit TASS few days prior to free servicing, show them and ask wheather it needs replacement or repair.
If replacement, then they will get time to make it available, paint etc. That will save you from undue delay.

Tornado: I m not too sad for it and Just mentioned about it. Though I felt happy that i got only 2 months old July manufactured car when i bought in September.

The rub rail would not require any replacement. There are 3 clips in the rub rail & 3 holes in the door. Just they have to fit the clip in the holes and the edges have to be put some 2-side sticker or some similar glue. Some old glue is still present in door where the rub-rail edges was present. Again the replacement, if not present, ordering will take more time. If they fit the present rub-rail properly , that would be fine for me.

Re: 9 Months Old Tata Manza – 2 Months / 5000 Kms Ownership Review

Few days back received a call from tata, I told them about predelivery color loss patch, rubrail chrome insert misalignment issue . They said, tata will contact the workshop, and the issue will be sorted out in 72 hr.

No call , nothing happened till now.

Meanwhile, powerwindow noise reappeared and disappeared after few days , this time on rhs front window.
Yesterday, I received a call from NAW TASS (Madhuri), she said TATA has called up them about pending issues.
She gave me appointment on monday, to bring the car and get the issues sorted, till then she will get the nessesary paper work done.

Let's see...

Powerwindow noise has reappeared again on rhs front.

Re: 9 Months Old Tata Manza – 2 Months / 5000 Kms Ownership Review

Now ,my car has covered 20,500 km. Last week I got the 4th free service(labour ) done.
I was very busy for last 6 months ,could not open the net even, leave aside posting here, sorry for the same . Meanwhile following things happened.
1) Pune to goa trip via NH4 ,Panhala ,Kolhapur , Uttur, Amboli Ghat, vengurla, terekhol fort then goa with car on boat (10 minutes) then goa, back to pune via goa mumbai high way till Chiplun , then karad , pune.(3 N/ 3 D)

2) Pune to Harnai murud beach trip via Mahabaleshwar .

3) Third (10 k km) free labour servicing.( Rs 4500 approx.)

4) One visit to TASS for pending issues .

5) second visit for repending issues at the time of previous visit.

6) Got a bang on rear by a hyundai i 20, when my car was standing iddle at a signal at night. Apperently there was no damage to both the cars. Next day I discovered slight misalignment of tailgate and minor continuous irritating vibration sound at rear , which led me to take my car to
TASS . Insurance claimed for hammer work, resultent paint damage (cost Rs 6742,)

7) 20 k km fourth free (labour) service ,cost me Rs 6700 approx.

Welcome back Tornado.

You were missing for last six months.

Its second time that somebody rear ended your car.

Hope you and your car are fine now.

Please post a detailed review of your 20000 km experience.

Also change the title to something more appropriate. (you can do that by reporting your first post and suggest a new title)

Re: 9 months old Manza Qjd Aura : 9 months/ 20k km. Ownership Review

@autosafari, xover , I too missed all of you , the whole manza club, espesially during 3rd, fourth, servicing s, and two more TASS visits, but could not even open the net, so much was the workload.
@xover, I have started writing on the tata car relability thread.

My driver side rear tyre got punctured last month , first punctre in eight months /18000 km .puncture guy removed 5 nails from the same tyre, repaired the tubeless punctures. And filled in normal air as he didn't had nitrogen. My remaining tyres contain nitrogen.

At the time of fourth servicing(20500 km) at NAW PUNE, the SA told me that the tyres will be rotated as it is important to do so. And wrote so on the job card.
In the bill ,they have mentioned that the tyre rotation is done but no charges areapplicable as it is free (labour ) servicing.

Today I came to Sangli, for personal work, as it was going to be long drive, I decided to deflate the air filled tyre and fillup nitrogen. When I reached there, I remembered that tyres have been rotated, The problem was , how to identify the air filled tyre? Then I remembered that It is the lone tyre with punctre repair marks on it. I started searching for it ,but couldn't find one. Suddenly , to my horror, I found all five punctre marks on the same tyre i.e. driver side rear one!!!.

I couldn't control my emotions, [gun][shock]hence posted immediately here, to who else I can disclose my car related sorrows?

Re: 9 months old Manza Qjd Aura : 9 months/ 20k km. Ownership Review

Thanks everybody for sympathy .

@ Rudolf, It was the 'puncture repaired ' tyre which exposed the tyre rotation fraud done by NAW TASS .
The puncture repaired tyre was fitted at the driverside rear wheel prior to TASS visit (for tyre rotation and servicing), I found it at the same location after the TASS (tyre rotation) visit.[roll]

When TATAS (lady)called up me for feed back , I told them that TASS men are fraudand lie.
So she finally asked me what rating will be given by me for the TASS Service? I asked her to enlighten me on, how to rate fraud and lie.[angry]
She was speechless thereafter.
