Re: 9 Months Old Tata Manza – 3,000 Kms Ownership Review

I found , my rear bumper was , torn [15 cm], dented, on left side, with boot lid bent. Front bumper of a Maruti Alto coming with high speed , had collided , Alto's add on iron pipe bumper was bent towards its radiator, its bonnet bent, the driver was not able to come out due to jammed door.

I confirmed, that there was no casuality in side, He came out through passeger side door, I scolded him for his irresponsible driving. I asked him to come to Police station to report the accident.
These guys should be beaten black and blue for their irresponsible driving. Thank god that Police cooperated with you and made the Alto guy pay.

New car ,20 days old, accident, we were disturbed, returned back home at 1 am.yo
Very sorry to hear this. Thank god nothing serious happened to anyone. Hope your car is also back to its gorgeous shape. When my car was only 10 days old, in the parking a lady opened her car and her door hit my door and made a dent. I was fuming and scolding her. the dent was little smaller and since she was apologizing so much I let her go. 2 months Later while reversing I hit the lamp post and a dent in the boot door happened. I felt very bad and consoled my self because its mmy mistake. Due to others mistake your car has to under go so much damage I know how you will feel.

@Highway ranger, R_D, autosafari, t 78, thank you, for the sympathy, and consolation.
In pune it is obsolete to show sympathy, as such type of non fatal dent\paint\plastic damage accident s are so common, no car is spared in its initial 2 years, later on the suffered car becomes cause of such insidents.

I hope puneite TAI ans would agree with me.

@tornado 78, yes , it was tata's home made steel which saved us from more loss.,
I decided to to run the car , in same condition, for few days so as to diagnose any other
damage, as TASS men would have said, all other things are ok.

@ rudolf, I also had similar feelings, but refrained myself.
I request you to get the reverse camera (preferably with sensors )earliest, it is money well spent for wider and taller manza back, it helps us visualise animals horns, kids , behind car, also saves money on painting, denting.

My Xenos cam has nice night vision also. Tight parking spots start looking easy.

@ autosafari, no insurance covers only 50% of plastic\rubber.(united India)

I drove the car, for 3 days after accident , in same condition, to know, any unnoticed damage malfunction. found that rhs sunvisor is coming off., rear back rest is not locking.

I showed it to a local mecanic, he said , whole job would cost 8 K. Then I called up NAW TASS, they surveyed the car, took photo s, asked me to bring the car later on, as the bumper would come after 15 days.
Bumper came after 1 week, I left the car at TASS,. they said , would take 7 days to return the car. I had to arrange friend's car till then.

Meanwhile, received a call from TATAS, to know feedback about ` sound deadening system' experience. I told about power window noise, upper edge peeling of sunfilm, which began immediately after it. Then received a call from NAW TASS , the guy asked to bring the car to NAW TASS. I told him, that the car is with NAW since last 2 days.

After 4 days,NAW TASS guy told me that car would be ready at 1 PM. I returned my friend's car.

NAW TASS handed over me the car. Car was looking like as it was looking prior to accident. But 1) reverse camera was missing., They took back the car , installed the cam, handed over the car.
2) the picture was looking upside down[frustration] in the reverse screen. They took back the car, adjusted it.
3) sun visor was replaced but with a grey one, they could not arrange beige colored in 10 days approx.
It was 4:30 pm , without food,by now, lost the patience, went home.

Next day ,1) powerwindow noise reappeared, this time with to and fro movement of the glass while rolling up, similar to neck movements of Dhanush as seen in Kolaveri D song.
2) rear mud flaps were missing.

Tatas, asked for feedback, I told about mudflaps. Now NAW man said, he will call me after he finds the mud flap.

Re: 9 Months Old Tata Manza – 3,000 Kms Ownership Review

Recently, I attended a custemer education programme, organised by NAW dealer at Hadpsar showroom pune.

They told us to have look at various ASS facilities, talk with SAs , get all doubts cleared whenever we go for servicing. They said that It is just like whenever we are arranging marriage of daughters/sisters, we visit/inspect the house of the probable in laws, we talk with the groom, this ASS faciity visit is similar to it.

I narrated them (NAW educators) about 'SA knowledge' about running in period [:D]during 1st servicing visit, also told them to read my ownership review at TAI, about various TASS issues faced by me till now.
Mr. Tejas Patil promised me that he will look in to the matter.

One custemer, complained that his , recently delivered Aqua manza doesn't have body colored door handles, orvms. .when educators looked clueless, I told custemer to go through TAI manza threads.

All custemers were given dinner by NAW., but chose to leave without it.

Same as with other models also. Before March 2011 manufactured Aqua cars had those features. When I asked SE that in website there are some features but in cars in stockyard its different. He told that himself was not aware of it. As TATA keep changing features.[frustration]

Re: 9 Months Old Tata Manza – 3,000 Kms Ownership Review

Few more pics, recently done a Mahabaleshwar hill station trip. Actually I had planned to visit a beach on the maharashtra coastline, but I had to cutshort the trip as my brats suffered from sore throat.

The route chosen was from Pune-NH4-khambatki ghat-surur-wai-pasarni ghat-panchgani-Mahableshwar.

While going , it was daytime, car cruised superbly, overtaking almost every car swiftly. We reached khambatki ghat, I wanted to know , cars performence, on this one of the difficult ghat(7kmapprox) in Maharashtra. I could overtake every car, truck, container, on my way, without switching off AC with minimal gear shift s.

I tried to keep the rpm@2 k, whenever I wanted to overtake a vehicle, I just pressed the peddle to increase the rpm@2500 to 2700, and enough. Really loved the ride which was effortless, noiseless.

On highway, I really missed the ABS. Car cruised @120 kmph. Suspensions works fine. I missed lhs driver handrest. Reverse camera is helpful at the time of night time parking at new places.

GURUS, is it possible to get an after market ,reliable ABS option?

Then it was pasarni ghat section (10 km approx)climbup, which I wanted to test, as khambatki was oneway.
Pasarni ghat road is narrow, and twoway, so whenever someone wants to overtake, there was a possibility of vehicle coming from opposite direction might compel you to cancel the overtaking. In such scenario, manza again overtook the vehicles from low speeds superbly.

In Mahableshwar , we stayed at a hotel, next day kids were unable to swallow the food properly, so we returned back in the night, otherwise I would have got a chance to test the car on 40 km climbup and down on Ambenali ghat section.

Back bencher was more comfortable than the old indigo.
While coming back it was night time, I found headlamps adequate, but' six lane widening work in progess' gives some anxious moments in absence of ABS.

Overall, good driving experience.

Tornado,

As far as I know, it is not possible to add ABS as an after market fitting.

To have an ABS system, you should have selected a car with ABS while buying the car (Aura ABS in your case)

I am curious to know when and where you felt that you are missing ABS.

Tornado,

Me too.

Though my current model has ABS, I have been driving Zens for more than 10 years, and on highways at high speeds.

I never felt the absence of ABS. ABS come into play only if you are braking under an emergency condition where the tyres loose road grip and tend to skid.

I drive my zen fast (over 110 kmph), but have never had to brake in a way were the car skidded even once.

That said, ABS is always good to have, as you do not know when it will come handy and maybe save injury or even life.

Re: 9 Months Old Tata Manza – 3,000 Kms Ownership Review

I was down with viral fever, now better. So little late here
On 4 laned NH4, 6 lane widening work has begun in Maharashtra, when I was driving on on lhs/rhs lane, suddenly there, used to come a board\flag man (work in progress) in my lane. The way out of it was , either to move in other lane urgently, which was many times impossible as speeding vehicle coming from behind was likely to collide or to brake suddenly in same lane. In every such situations I felt in absence ofABS , if car skids little bit on sudden braking, it was likely to graze the closely passing vehicle.
What I felt was imaginary, but true.

The car has completed 5200 km now, It is time for second free inspection\service. I called up NAW TASS custemer care man Tushar, one week back, told him about pending issues (rubber, plastic), to get them before I bring the car for service. No reply prompted me to call the GM NAW TASS. he referred me back to Tushar. Till now no call from NAW.
