Re: Tata To Rename New Aria as Hexa (Codenamed Eagle)

They should price it in the same price range of Aria now and get confidence from customers. They should learn the pricing strategy set by XUV.

Design looks good in the prototype. Hope they follow in the production avatar too.

Re: Tata To Rename New Aria as Hexa (Codenamed Eagle)

Well the horrendously expensive pricing by the likes of Hyundai and Suzuki and Honda is justified when their "little larger than Hatchback" cars are costing close to 17 lakh on road. And we want Tata to launch full blown SUV/crossover with premium look and accessories cheaper that these cars and still call it premium?

Yes Suzuki and hyundai have created a very very strong brand and can demand anything they wish for from customer and customer blindly accept it. tough time for tatas. Mahindra seem to have gone past this stage.

they should launch an introductory pricing and then increase the price. but then there would be people blaming tata for price increase. Ford did the same with ecosport. prices were increased by very small amount at regular intervals and now we have ecosport which is more than 1o lacs OTR

Re: Tata To Rename New Aria as Hexa (Codenamed Eagle)

Well if they can launch a product that offers the levels of equipment seen on Zest and add few more gizmos like the XUV and price the product a little lower than XUV as introductory price and maintain the quality levels it will be a hit irrespective of Tata Brand.

But its sad that people can accept a hatchback marketed as premium cross over at 17 lakhs but expect a full blown suv from a Brand like Tata at 5 lakhs less.

Re: Tata To Rename New Aria as Hexa (Codenamed Eagle)

IMO, the hexa must be priced just below Innova/Scorpio.
It will be a good vehicle and amazing VFM.

Tata to regain its customers confidence has to get that pouring number of buyers.
And the only way to do that is by pricing it cheaply, if not dirt cheap.

Re: Tata To Rename New Aria as Hexa (Codenamed Eagle)

Well Tata did it with Zest. Pricing below the i20 elite. This is by far the cheapest sub4m sedan. Are people flocking to buy it? No. People still have apprehension on the TASS. Whos ASS is trouble free? I have experience MASS and TASS and feel that TASS is much softer and adjusting that MASS. But still TASS is bad boy. no matter what pricing, what product the perception doesnt change the sales for capable vehicles will not be there.

Yes but starting point would be good pricing slightly below competition or at par with competition with higher features couple with great ad campaign showing the class and premiumness. Ads have to be hammered just like alto k10 automatic ad are hammered.
and now Nexa. Its not SCross but Nexa ads that are promoting SCross. ( i dont know what that ad means :stupid: ) However, hammering is done very well.

I bet you even if they price it much lower than the xuv people will still not buy it saying that " itni sasti hai zaroor kuch kharaabi hogi" so i don't have any hope of this beast selling in good numbers,i mean look at the zest it selling a thousand units a month.

Re: Tata To Rename New Aria as Hexa (Codenamed Eagle)

Ride Quality of Aria is equal if not better than Innova but the problem with Aria was poor marketing coupled with high price (No introductory prices) and lack of bling. Let's hope they get the product right and market it the way Maruti markets thier products (for e.g. look at Ciaz)

not only marketing tata failed due its dull design and people confused in product position when aria launched most of the people dont have good idea about what is CrossOver in every aspect ARIA lag behind competitors but now things changed now they came up with SUV form not MPV or CrossOver with big powerfull engine hope that upcomming HEXA will balence good power and mileage.

But to be frankly say if we consider other side ARIA not totally dead product in market its selling acceptable numbers according ARIA size its almost much bigger then innova interms of lenght. So most of they buyers dont prefer super big cars in every day life thats too one reason behind low sales, we should compare with rexton sales [evil]

Re: Tata To Rename New Aria as Hexa (Codenamed Eagle)

Since Hexa is based on the current Aria with similar dimensions I will give my perspective as an owner of Pure LX. There are a lot of misconceptions about the Aria one of the reason being the lack of exposure to this vehicle to the carbuyers because of low numbers. Now those few who have test driven and ridden it have difficulty in believing that it is a fantastic car but don't acknowledge it publicly for the fear of what everyone would say as this is considered a FLOP.
I bought this car after multiple test drives from the day it was launched and the 150ps model now is finally matured to be considered a long term buy? It comes with a default 3years/100000km warranty extendable upto 150000/4years by paying just 7850 doesn't it show the manufactures confidence in the product?
One misconception is that Aria is a long car or it's a big vehicle difficult to handle in traffic , I would say to the contrary this is much easier than driving a Vento, sunny or ecosport? Once in the driving seat the vehicle shrinks around you (characteristics of well thought out interior design).
Comparing to an Innova this comes with a 4wheel disc setup that means the ABS is a 4 channel one acting on all 4 wheels. Mileage is better than Innova if driven at around 100kph 15kpl is the norm and even at 120-130 kph it gives decent 12.5 with all rows AC switched on! 2wheel drive Aria has just 5.6m turning radius and I never faced problem driving in traffic?

Tata-Hexa-Concept-1.jpg

The Tata Hexa will be launched this year in November 2015 around Diwali. This will be the second new product for the brand in 2015. The first one was the Bolt and that was in January. However, the deliveries for the Hexa will not start before January 2016.

Tata Motors will commence the production in December, while the deliveries will start in January. The Hexa will get features like touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, reverse parking camera, six airbags, ABS and a lot more features. The Hexa will be coming with a 2.2-litre diesel engine that will be producing about 165bhp of power and 400Nm of peak torque. This will be made available with a five-speed manual transmission and other option will be the six-speed ZF automatic transmission.

Tata Hexa will be priced between INR 12-17 lakhs (on-road) and will be based on the Aria platform. Tata Motors will be launching the Kite range of products next year at the Auto Expo. Tata has been focusing on the recently launched new products, the Zest and the Bolt. The Hexa is a part of the HorizonNext program and will get a major upgrade like the Zest and Bolt have been developed.

Just love the design details here. The finish of the metal on the grill and the fog lamp enclosure.
Source: Indian Autos Blog - A Global Auto News provider based in India.
that fog lamp design section is inspired by Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Discovery Sport

Re: Tata To Rename New Aria as Hexa (Codenamed Eagle)

I read in other forums and articles that as per the spy shots seen recently the hexa would miss out on fog lamps shown in the concept ... But no, I found patent done by Tata for same set of fog lamp enclosure which was misunderstood as kite's fog lamp.. Attached is the pic of patent part:

Re: Tata To Rename New Aria as Hexa (Codenamed Eagle)

So Kite launch delayed ? Just started seeing the test mule. Still no confirmation on new engine and AT gear box. Also is it like Kite will be tested more with it's new engines ? Narain not happy with dynamics ? Anyway I can't believe Hexa getting launched in November.
