Re: Tata To Rename New Aria as Hexa (Codenamed Eagle)

TATA HEXA will straight rival of Ssangyong Rexton and Toyota Fortuner for lower end variants so TATA price it between 11.50Lacks to 16Lacks depending upon variant
Hell no! Tata motors ain't foolish enough to increase the price.
They will price it within 11-16L I guess, to rival the XUV, Innova (The Innova is around 20L On-road now!) and replace Aria.
I don't think they will continue the Aria at a lower price as there have been news about a new MPV on the X1 platform to rival the Ertiga, Lodgy, etc.

but compare to TATA ARIA price TATA HEXA price will be 1.5Lack higher i guess because of list cosmetic changes and features current ARIA pure LX price is 10.50Lacks so HEXA will be around 11.50L or 12L for base trim Basically TATA ARIA platform is more expensive to build compare to Old Safari and Xenon thats reason behind TATA HEXA will competite with Rexton

Re: Tata To Rename New Aria as Hexa (Codenamed Eagle)

Tata Hexa likely to get a six-speed automatic gearbox

The Tata Hexa concept was showcased at Geneva motor show in an almost production-ready from. The Crossover-SUV concept is expected to become the precursor to the design of future Tata SUVs as well as enter production with the production model getting almost identical styling as the concept showcased.

The production ready Hexa will be powered the 2.2-litre Varicor diesel engine from the updated Aria generating 154bhp and 40.8kgm of torque mated to a choice of a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The Hexa, when it goes into production, will become the first Tata to receive a six-speed manual and automatic transmission with the most gear currently offered by the company being a five-speed in both manual and automatic cars. The Hexa will also get a torque-on-demand four-wheel drive system. A twin-turbo version of the 2.2-litre engine generating around 175bhp is expected to be in the offing but it cannot be confirmed if it will make its way to the Indian spec car.

The crossover-SUV measures in at 4,764mm long, 1,895mm wide and 1,780mm high and has a wheelbase of 2,850mm making it the longest in Tata’s SUV segment.

Up front the Hexa gets a new front-end styling featuring automatic projector headlamps, a new bonnet, grille and front bumper. On the sides the glasshouse bears resemblance to the Aria but the car additionally gets flared wheel arches along with black cladding and ‘HEXA’ badges. At the back, the car gets all-new horizontal tail-lamps, a new rear bumper with faux skid plate and rectangular dual exhausts while brushed aluminium trim is sported all around the exterior.

Inside, the Hexa gets a dual-tone interior, seating for six, mood lighting, chrome-ringed dials in the instrument cluster, the Harman-sourced infotainment system from the Zest and Bolt as well as steering, climate control, dedicated four-wheel drive switches and Tata’s version of JLR’s Terrain Response System.

The Hexa is to the Aria what the Bolt is to the Vista — a major evolution in styling, performance and quality. Tata aims to gain a strong foothold in the SUV-crossover segment with the new Hexa and in a bid to not repeat earlier mistakes, it will also look at pricing the car aggressively.

Re: Tata To Rename New Aria as Hexa (Codenamed Eagle)

Tata Hexa SUV to get 6 speed AT from General Motors?

Tata Hexa will be the first new SUV, which will be launched with inputs from Land Rover.
Slated to be launched with automatic and manual transmission options, it is now leaked that the 6 speed automatic transmission for the new Tata Hexa will be manufactured by GMPT or General Motors Powertrain, a 100% subsidiary of General Motors.
Expected to debut in production ready guise at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, Tata Motors has outsourced the manufacturing feasibility of their Hexa SUV to LG in South Korea. This will help them achieve better design, and in turn deliver better top speed and fuel efficiency.

Tata Hexa crossover to be launched in India later this year.

Tata Motors says that the Hexa is an all-new vehicle and also has an uprated powertrain. The Hexa has a beefy grille and looks quite imposing for a crossover.
Under the hood lies the familiar 2.2-litre diesel engine. However, unlike other Tata cars where this engine is used, in the Hexa it makes 157PS of power and 400Nm of torque. In the concept it was mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

Re: Tata To Rename New Aria as Hexa (Codenamed Eagle)

All the best, but unless Tata concentrate on QC, you are not going to win back the Indian customer; recently read on a website that the new Safari Storme test car suddenly went dead without waning!

Also, Tata can also plan on providing more that one engine option. This is imperative if the are planning to become a global player.

Re: Tata To Rename New Aria as Hexa (Codenamed Eagle)

I think Tata this time around will come out strong..seeing the quality improvements they have been making off late with Zest and Bolt. I expect this one to be the same if not better in terms of being on same quality if not above in comparison to its competitors

I guess this talks about the GM sourced gearbox or is it something else? Anyway, does LG got any manufacturing expertise for automotive components?

Hope TML won't do a Safari Storme here (eeee....extensive testing) and will be able to launch Hexa in the current year itself.

LG Korea had some operations in automotive sector they provide body panel pressing tools for selected vehicles and also they produce body panels for different cars in contract bases.

So here TATA Motors first time they are out-sourcing some parts of Revised ARIA aka HEXA. TATA did some sheel metal changes in TATA ARIA body shell so for that tata outsourcing to keep development cost low.

Yup hope they price rationally. Guess TATA plans to pit the hexa against the likes of XUV500, the current macho in the segment. There's some weird thinking creeping out from me that the recent xuv facelift was because of the fear instilled by hexa (just kidding:lol!:). Engine was never a problem for TATA and they have worked out a good tune for the hexa and if 400 Nm is real, then easily the class leading torque. Just bring those old safari styled inspiring ads, back the car with well qualified service staffs and am sure a new cult will follow. Still in love of those safari ads.

PS: I even love the old indica ad (LOBO, When I saw you standing there)[:D]

I have a gut feeling they are messing up the front design again with a rounded vista look[cry] or it is just because of the camouflage .

Definitely NO. Tatas have learnt a hard way and I know they are not that foolish to repeat the same mistake again. If you look at the bonnet line its clearly same as the concept showcased in Geneva.[clap] So this Hexa is definitely going to be very similar looking to the Rangies. Wow waiting for it to be launched. Hope this version of aria is well accepted.

Now on a different note, the Hexa is basedon the aria platform I guess the Aria will not be discontinued. both the cars would be sold so I am expecting this car to have premium over aria and may touch around 20L for top end. However the instrumentation, interiors, and the sporty range rover type exteriors I guess it will definitely be a worthy car competing with the likes of XUVs, Fortuners, Rextons.
