Re: Tata Aria Pride Ownership Review – TAI’s First!

I was pretty sure the Aria would come out trumps in the comfort department and ride quality - i do feel the Aria has the best suspension set up in this segment.
+10. Aria feels the best on highways. It has an amazing stability at high speeds & the ride feels flat at all times.

But now that you mentioned the GC issue are u hinting the suspension is softly set up with a full load ? or is it the long wheel base tht is more of a culprit for the mud flaps to hit these so called back breakers?
Aria's suspension is set very soft. So with full load, the car would bog down & may scrape. So, i dont think its a GC issue.

Also surprised u found the overtaking a tad cumbersome - great if u can elaborate on it. What speeds on an average were those overtakes ?
Blame the turbo lag for this. Dicor engines have an annoying turbo lag issue.

Also, they are geared to give good fuel efficiency rather than good performance.

Re: Tata Aria Pride Ownership Review – TAI’s First!

@ Mukesh and Appu Am really sorry guys , been very busy lately! Will post the pictures ASAP , i am feeling lazy to re-size the pictures![evil]

@ Master Thanks buddy.

@ Iron Rock Yeah as Raj said Aria comes out with flying colors when it comes to ride quality and comfort! I drove for the entire trip and never felt any tiredness.

Yes the Aria's suspension is a little soft , not extremely soft like my Verna though. There will be a slight bobbing motion while going for small undulations over road. Don't get me wrong though with only 4 people on board the GC is very very sufficient , i drive over potholes and bad roads with the same speed i used to take them in my Safari. I feel only because of the soft suspension the rear mudflaps kept hitting big speed breakers. But all this happens only with full load , that is 7 people and a fully loaded boot , else no issues. The front rubber strip beneath the airdam doesn't get hit even in huge speed breakers. It came loose in our car because we drive it in almost non-existent roads sometimes , blame our profession!

About the overtaking , i am telling in speeds around 80-90kmph in full load. If i plan to do a quick overtake even after doing a downshift the engine response is just not quick enough. I think i am spoiled by my Verna! But the Aria is not under-powered by any means! Hope i have answered all your questions , if you have more feel free to ask![cheers]

@ Xover 1. The people in the last row you can call them short buddy , though they din complain they were not in comfort!

2. Yes definitely i would love to have more power atleast to differentiate the Aria from Safari. With the new Safari Storme having the same engine and few more added features , the difference between Aria and Safari is nothing phenomenal!

@ Raj Thanks for answering on my behalf buddy!

Yes most of the premium cars are AT these days. I will be happy if they offer the same even in MT and also if possible do some tuning to help the previous owners too!

@ Mukesh Thanks buddy , yes that is Pamban bridge. My Aria also went on a trip to Rameshwaran and Kanyakumari in December. Man , you missed the beauty of the bridge then! The wind speed is tremendous at the top of the bridge , you will have to push real hard to open the door against the wind!

@ Raj Thank you buddy!

Re: Tata Aria Pride Ownership Review – TAI’s First!

Gave the Aria a nice thorough wash today!

Thanks Appu , err i don't have any more pictures! Glad to know you like the City , there are few modifications done to the Interiors too. I have two pics though with Aria and Innova side by side , nothing great though because of limited space i couldn't capture it better!

We also have an Endeavour in our apartment , the model which came before this facelift. Both our cars were side by side idling and i literally couldn't hear my Aria's engine! Aria's engine is super refined when compared to Endeavour , maybe the new facelift has better refinement! But Endeavour's stock ICE rocked better than my Aria!

And also one thing i forgot to mention i guess during my recent trip. At speeds above 100kmph both the ORVM'S slightly start shivering(vibrating) , it's very very minimal not a hinderance but still it has become loose now , previously it was rock solid.

Also one more design flaw or manufacturing defect right from the time the car was purchased. Both the ORVM'S don't close or open simultaneously. The right side ORVM has a slight delay , not much but still . . . . It's perfect in my friend's i20! The right side ORVM also makes a creaking noise while closing or opening after it was forcibly shut by my younger brother by mistake! I din't bother complaining this to the A.S.S , i don't want them to remove it and make it any worser!

Another funny conversation which i had with a driver in a restaurant parking.

I was taking some pictures with my camera and suddenly a driver of a TATA Sumo approached me.

Driver: Are you coming from Chennai?

Me: Yes! What matter?

Driver:This car costs 40 Lakhs right??

Me: I was shocked!! No , it costs only 18Lakhs!

Driver: Oh(equally shocked)!! What company is this? BMW or Benz?

Me:(Smiling) Your very own TATA(pointing towards his Sumo)!!

He quickly ran front to check the logo in my car in a state of shock!

Me: Which place are you driving? Haven't you seen Aria in your place?

Driver: No!

That is when i understood Aria sells only in major cities! Am not surprised though i saw only one other Aria in my entire trip to the south of TN!
