Not at all surprising. For someone who is pretty noob about cars, the Aria does look like a 30-40 lakh vehicle, especially in white.

Re: Tata Aria Pride Ownership Review – TAI’s First!

@ Avindu Thanks bro , yeah i am using the 18-55mm kit lens , will upgrade to a better lens soon!

@ Ilango Maybe , but i don't find any significant increase in Chennai despite giving a 2Lakh discount! First trip in Aria , enjoyable indeed!

@ Raj Well i din't know that Aria is looking that much royal! And i was more surprised because he himself was a TATA driver and i din't expect that from him. I always see most of the Indica drivers turn and look at the car each time!

BTW Aria completes it's one year with us today. Same time last year i was at the dealership waiting for delivery![:D] Aria has clocked 23k KMS till now and not a major problem faced apart from few niggles.

Niggles i faced in one year are:

1. The chrome strips on the door handles are very fragile , they break easily! The strip in my rear left door handle has completely come out.

2. I faced this ESP and TCS error showing up on the MID twice. Both the times the problem was solved on the same day by TASS.

3. The MID started shuffling itself on its own one day but regained normalcy once i fiddled with the controls.

4. The audio HU hangs sometimes! None of the buttons work but the song keeps playing! Switching it OFF and ON again solved the problem each time. Nothing major though , in my one year of ownership this happened only 4-5 times. I have seen even BMW owners telling their i-drive hangs so i think TATA can be spared here!

5. The minor accident i faced where the rear windshield had to be replaced. Paint job was average but everything was put back well , no rattles or squeaks till now!

Apart from these i am a very happy and proud owner. The only mistake TATA made was make it look like an MUV and Innova like looks. I feel that if Aria was designed as a macho SUV with a flat bonnet people would have considered it more!People started comparing Aria with Innova as they look similar and started comparing the prices! Our's is still a market where space and comfort are given preferences over performance and features. So people started telling when i get the comfort and space at 14Lakhs why should i spend 19Lakhs for Aria without knowing what "EXTRA FEATURES" Aria offers over the Innova and my god the list is huge!

People call it a flop but IMO it's not doing well only because of its price tag which is made to look even expensive after the launch of XUV. If you don't mind paying the premium then Aria is definitely a great car and clearly one of the best from TATA motors! And also as a bonus for the premium you will get the exclusivity![evil] People started going ga-ga over Fortuner but once it became common people started ignoring it , nowadays even XUV 5OO is getting common in the streets , i see atleast 2 or 3 each day! But with the Aria , people still turn their heads wherever you take the car even after a year of its launch!

Happy Anniversary of your Aria buddy. As far as Tata designing Aria with flat bonnet, well then the X-over attitude of Aria would have been lost, though it definitely would have sold better since India people like SUVs like nothing[;)].

White has a charm of its own, i don't know what it is but there is something special. So does your Chariot (Sarathi) [:)]

The Car looks fabulous. Hope to see more.

I just got back from TASS on Hebbal ring road, had been there to get some nuts and bolts tweaked into my Ship, i saw two 4x2 Aria's being delivered today, these are slowly getting popular now. Had TATA's corporate guys got out of their A/C meeting rooms to do a reality check in real world this very competent car would have sold in great numbers.

OT, saw a Maroon Aria with Matt Black alloys i guess OEM alloys he got it painted Black, the combo looked deadly, sorry forgot to take Pic's [frustration]

@ Xover Thanks buddy!

@ junaidzsb Well i don't see any improvement here in Chennai , Aria's are very rare to spot. I would have also added after-market alloys to my Aria if this was my ride unfortunately it's dad car , he likes the car in stock condition!

cooldhaya - i think in this segment the Aria is the most royal looking vehicle, especially in white - i even liked the golden champagne color they displayed at the expo - but i hope people stop comparing aria to an innova[frustration] - aria is leagues ahead - no comparison to innova really when it comes to looks!!

Aria looks better than Innova even the facelifted one IMO(looks are subjective) , Aria performs better than Innova , Aria is more fuel efficient than Innova , Aria has more features than Innova , Aria has better build quality than Innova , Aria's interiors looks more upmarket than Innova(again to each his own) , Aria's engine is much more refined and NVH levels are far better than Innova , Aria's spares are cheaper than Innova. I feel Aria is worth the premium it asks over the Innova considering all the above points. Of course only an enthusiast will look at the above points , for an average buyer the points i have mentioned below is the main criteria and that is why people consider Innova more than Aria.

The only place where Innova is almost as good as Aria is comfort , space and ride quality.

And the only place where Innova beats Aria is maintenance and reliability!

Re: Tata Aria Pride Ownership Review – TAI’s First!

Specific reason for what buddy?

I recently got a chance to travel for a good 1000KMS in an Innova and have to admit the space , comfort and ride quality is almost as good as the Aria.

And when it comes to maintenance and reliability ask any Innova owner they will hardly face any problem with the vehicle. An Innova will go to the workshop only for regular servicing. See the previous page i have mentioned all the niggles i have mentioned in my one year of ownership. You can't question or match the bullet-proof reliability of Innova![:)]

And also i forgot to mention , i had to change both my tail lamp bulbs within one year! Mods if possible please move this point to the previous page post where i have mentioned all my niggles faced.

Why so much mouth to say good about Toyota ,what are you guys bitten with?

I can show 25000km burnt clutch and leaky brake Innova.same guy drove Mahindra major for 4 lakh km without any hassle.

Yes i am not blaming them , not all cars are niggle free and TATA always has had niggles in their cars. This is their first attempt in this segment , even Mahindra is facing so many niggles in its XUV. I like TATA for their VFM factor and that is why i bought Aria even though many cried its highly priced , now after XUV'S launch it's looking highly priced though.

@ Jayadev Yes there are bad owners too. But in my friend's circle and a few Innova owners like Raj and TSI Vipul are extremely satisfied with their rides. Even you forget Innova and take my Verna , i haven't faced a single problem in my car , heck not even a bulb fuse till now *touchwood, that is the reliability i am talking about! Don't get me wrong TATA are extremely good in mechanicals but in electricals they give you lot's of trouble!

add my Indigo to niggle free cars. TATA are VFM, have not so good service facilities, but again that is a good thing. You can service it outside in relatively competitive costs

Here are pictures of Innova and Aria together , couldn't capture better pictures because of space constraint! And also excuse the poor quality , it was taken with my mobile!
