Wow this is a great feature,never knew that such a feature exists in Aria.This explains why your turbo didn't fail because of high engine temperature.Kudos to Tata's engineering team for designing such smart engine/turbo protection system.
On the other hand Tata needs to use better quality parts,a new car should not have these issues to be honest.
Yep check engine light should come up and the temperature gauge/needle should go in the red zone if the engine temperature is high.

BTW,was that metal tube suffering from some sort of blockage because of corrosion or was it suffering from some sort of leakage?
Do you check your coolant levels regularly,was there any dip while you were suffering all these issues?
