A very happy new year to you.

Will suggest you to take your car to a competent service centre as the Aria System is very sophasticated. Its better you should check it in Bangalore with prior appointment.

Water Flow sound might be due to air tubulance under the car body but check out for resonatiing of some uneven sound by running your vehicle on Jack (controled environemnt).
I'll try to bring it to bangalore after a month.
My house is placed in end of a narrow street. The street has compound walls on both sides. So each sound is verymuch noticeable from the beginning of ownership. It was not there before.

hi friends,

i'm facing new issues day by day. Some of them are byproduct of each fixings. I'm loosing my cool and trust on the brand. Its very hard to manage the technicians and CRM, tatamotors. I think the stress is much harder than the rest matters in my life. I'm continuously paying for taxi bills after invest a huge on this car. Last time i gave them 5 working days, but they telling that i was not given needed time to fix the steering shake issue. For the last 3 months alone they tried to fix my car for more than 4 times. Each time they took 3 to 5 days. Now my car at their workshop.

Now tata motors has appointed a new CRM for our region. He is not good in my view. Each time when i car had issues, the old CRM used to send some technical people to look the issues. But the current CRM telling that, there is no such specialized team to look the aria issue. All issues are handled by local workshop only. Even he telling that they can't give an loaner vehicle when my car with them to fix issues.

Issues after my last post (New and Old):
1. Tyre alignment issue. Its pulling to left. Its there from 1K kms.
2. Steering column vibrating heavily after 80kms speed. repeated complaint
3. Car is jumping at below 60kms speed.
4. 2 front tyres are out in 11k kms
5. Tik..tik.. sound from steering column
6. Clutch giving "crich...crich" noice
7. Rear door rattling. repeated complaint.
8. I faced some kind of new issue. I drove the car slowly in 2nd gear to park the car on the side of the road. But the engine shown the sign of stall as jerking hard. I pressed the clutch, no change in the jerk and changed the gear to 1 to neutral. But no change in the jerk. The I switched off the engine. Then drove after 5 mins without any issue. This thing occurred around 8 times in the last 3 months.
9. Turbo whistle sound is hearing long time than before even after I took my foot from accelerator (Sound alike an ambulance following us with less loud siren. But the whistle is cute anyway)
10. Driver seat rattling. repeated complaint
11. AC cooling power is less after the engine issue
12. Central lock mis-behaving. repeated issue.
13. Gear slip to neutral when I drove in the uneven road or over the hump
14. Seatbelt holder lock not found in the right side of 2nd and 3rd row. It was broken by workshop people.
15. Un-natural sound hearing from roof, mostly in the afternoon, even when the car is not moving.
16. Some un-natural sound hearing from bottom when clutch pressed on uneven road.
17. Tata people assured me to replace right wiper under warranty. But it was not happened as promised.
18. The RPM of the vehicle is going up and down when idle. Mostly high in the morning.
19. Waterflow like sound from bottom.
20. Steering is very tight.
21. Sometime the reverse sensor not working properly.
22. Brakes not good after my last repair service.
23. Shocks giving me spring noice now. In the beginning the car never shown any boat like shake, but now it does.

The above list is unfinished till date after my last update. but the waterflow like sound was arrested and the whistle like sound was reduced a bit.

Our regional CRM told me that they will replace both the tyres under warranty as all aria tyres are claimable, if the tyre can't server atleast 30k kms. But now he is changing his voice. He can't change it under warranty as i'm not using the stack wheels. But my dealership gave me OEM safari alloy as a offer pack with the car. I need to fight with them each day.

Look a like my car has issues with all parts from A to Z.

My car just crossed only 13,500kms.

It gives me around 17.6kmpl at the speed between 80 to 100km in highways.

There seems to be some serious issue with alignment set up.Did you have it checked at any reliable authorised tyre store ? Get a detailed report of Camber, Caster and Toe settings from there,if possible from multiple places as well.

They telling me to keep the safari OEM alloys in the bay, which installed by dealership bundled with the aria sales. And also not giving replacement for my tires. i'm complaining the alignment issue even before install the alloys. It can be seen from my old review. Now they wash their hands off. Now i'm fooled by my cash.

you can very well complain to tata motors about it.

all of your changes were done by the authorised dealership , hence they cannot run away from taking responsibility of their deeds.

be persistent.

write a strong email , maybe with a help of a lawyer to put in your discontent with the vehicle and the dealership in detail.

this will help to build up a strong case in future if the situation further demands you to approach the consumer court.

Just go through this thread from beginning till now. We will see how a die hard Tata fan is FORCED to hate it. Shame on the Tata representatives who are dealing with justin. If Tata motors is listening, these are the people who are capable of failing whichever car you bring in market. Sooner you get rid of them, better for you.

@ Justin: As already advised by others, get in touch with Tata motors in a detailed way. They will listen to you. Twice I have faced issues, and once contacted, they were prompt to solve the issue.

Yes. all the accessories installed in my vehicle are installed by my dealership as a pack offer. The offer list also sent to tata motors for confirmation. Even the marketing manager from tata motors also reached me and confirmed me the same (offer and warranty) when he was there at the dealership. He told me that the warranty issue will not be an issue as the accessories are given from tata motors as a package offer. As per his version bigger discounts can't be given by dealership alone.

I just sent a mail to tata motors. And got an appointment from the MD of dealership to explain the matters before going for a legal way.

I remember JUSTIN always praising TATA and even giving a "highly satisfied" score in the TATA satisfaction survey we had in this forum. And now he says he has lost his trust in the brand is living with fear. If this is how they treat their ardent fans and repeat customers, it comes as no surprise that TATA is sliding down below Mahindra and Toyota.

Aria is supposed to be their flagship model and they should be giving a priority treatment to it's owners.

Anyways, as recommended by others, even I would suggest a strong worded email to the top authorities in TATA, including Mr. Karl. Going to the consumer court is a long and time consuming process.

I still love the brand as same as mahindra. But the staffs spoiling the party.

Hi there,

I have got your PM, so sorry to hear that you are in trouble again with your Aria.

1.) For Tyre and Pulling of the Vehicle: Get your Car Aligned and Tyres should be balanced at a well known and reputed place to check the castor, camber, toe and wheel balancing. If the problem persist than shift to OEM Steel Rims.
In this case they cannot deny warranty as the alloys were used are OEM supplier alloys and they come under warranty and all the alignments and balancing were done at TASS. So kindly check the quality of Alloys too.
One more thing, did your front shock absorbers were replaced under warranty ? If yes than they need to reset the alignment and balancing of the car. Same happened to my car as front shock were upgraded and they forget to do the alignment and balancing thus eated my front two tyres partially, I changed one from outside (due to aftermarket alloy, no warranty).

Note: Yes, uneven wear of tyres might gives you unbalanced ride quality, kindly keep the tyre pressure at 32PSI only.

Now wobbling issue is somewhat gone from my car, lets see when it will crop up. My Car has done 33500 kms and tyres has a lot of thread in it like may be another 33000 kms or so.

Kindly ask for replacement in warranty.

2.) Rattles in Door: Kindly ask them to adjust the latch and open the door cladding and tight all nuts and bolts.

3.) Driver Seat Rattle: Shoot a video and ask the warranty person to get it replaced under warranty, Quote my example. I have also changed my seat under warranty.

4.) Jerking: Change the air filter and ask them to check the nozzles. ask them to check with OBD diagnostics.

5.) Clutch: Ask them to bleed the clutch and if the problem persist then ask them to replace the clutch assembly (means pressure plates, bearing etc. under warranty)

6.) Jumping of Vehicle: Don't know what do you mean by this? sorry

7.) Steering: Kindly ask them to open the steering assembly and check for any wear and tear happen due to shaking, check the bushes and all, greese them.

8.) Suspension: If the sound persist than go for change of shock absorbers with a new one

9.) Just ask whether PTL bolt (peak torque limiter) is changed in your car or not or whether your car has new PTL or old design PTL. Mine had old PTL and they have changed that.

10.) Important: Be a member of their Facebook page and try to write down a message first to them about your problems and secondly than go public on their forum if problems were not solved.

11.) Get your vehicle repaired in a big service centre.

12.) AC: Get your car AC serviced at TASS and ask them to check the Gas level and check for any leakage.

All the best, if any other info required than please ask me.

And at present My ARIA has no problems at all, I have gone for a long trip in snow and it performed very well.

1. Get the alignment checked at tyre centers. The TASS or any service center dont have qualified (enough) people to do that. Also get the balancing done on all 4 wheels. Usually they do it only on the front tyres. AND do this balancing and Alignment every 5000 kms. AND also frequently if you notice this pulling and wobbling thing. If you travel through rough roads, then this will be more frequent. Wheel alignment is a delicate thing. If you crash into a small speedbreaker it will be off.

2. Again BALANCING. If the balancing is not done correctly, then the chances are steering column vibrates at speeds. Try some tyre center for balancing. Try some authorised Bridgestone outlets.

3. Some times faulty alignment can lead to unsettled suspension. But cant be sure about this.

4. Balancing and alignment.

5. If this is coming from outside the cabin, then probably it is due to worn out tie rods.
Check for power steering fluid level, If it has gone down, then check the underbody and steering rack area for oil leaks, if there is a leak then chances are that the steering rack is damaged. If the steering rack is damaged, then change under warranty.

6. If this noise is only when you start the engine and shut it off, then ignore it. This sound is due to clutch system activation. This engine uses hydraulic clutch activation system. When the engine is off, effectively the system is off. BUt if the sound is persisting then I cant be sure about it.

7. Has to be hinges or latch. Get it aligned and tightened. This can be done by local mechs also. ASS guys usually miss on these things as they are minor. Though it is irritating for us.

8. Cant comment on this too. Without experiencing it. If you are talking of engine trying to stall, then I guess its natural. Maybe you were too low on rpm for the 2nd gear.

9. If it is that loud then you have to check it. Blow off valve should be faulty. Change under warranty.

10. They should change this under warranty.

11.12.These two things are as a result of ECU coding errors. If you are visiting Bangalore, then go to Concorde and get the ECU flashing (updating) done.

13. The gearbox is fine. The problem is with the external linkages. My Santro also had the issue. Get the linkages changed under warranty.

14. If you keep your mouth shut on these issues, they will certainly take advantage of you. Just bash them for doing such things. Come on, why should they ever fiddle with the seat belt lock mechanism.

15. hahaha, your car is haunted man. You need a tantric. Well on a serious note, are you sure there are no rodents in your car.

16. Is it a rattling sound?

17. Why dont you do it yourself. Wipers are not covered under warranty. Only wiper motor is. They think promises can keep a customer happy IDIOTS.

18. Is the rpm itself ids going up and down or is it only the Rpm meter needle. I think you should check your throttle pedal assy. checked.

19. My guess is that this sound is from the intake. Like a hush is it.

20. Check for the power steering fluid level. Steering will get harder if the fluid is low. And a damaged oilseal in the steering rack can lead to reduction in steering fluid.

21. Change the censors

22. Have you raised this issue. If they have changed the Discpads then it should work properly. If they havent then ask them to change the discpads.

23. Is the air pressure correct. TATA says 30psi. Ideally 30 or 32 psi should be good enough for any condition. Low pressure in any tyre will lead to boatiness.

Tyres are covered under warranty for manufacturing defect only. Uneven wear and tear is not a manufacturing fault. Hence even if CRM has promised or told you any thing its a lie. How do I know this? Well, I am a person who sells 2 wheeler tyres.

Thats one healthy engine man. Then what engine problem you are having? My Grande gives me only 12 on highway at speeds upto 130kmph. And only 14 kmpl between 80-100.

I've given you a few pointers, hope it helps. But without seeing the thing in person cant be sure of any thing.
