No clue on what is VW strategy here. Both are sister concerns and they should not try to eat into each other's market. But by keeping these closely priced models they may be doing more harm than good.

This is the replacement for our Laura. It will be called the Octavia. It's based on the Jetta. Just posting some pictures for comparison.

Skoda Lauretta (Fabia Sedan) has been spied testing by Sirish Chandran (Editor of Overdrive). The company is testing this car with Volkswagen logo put on.

Seems like VW is fooling as by showing a new vento is coming.

Similarly if I recall,when vento was been undergoing such tests it wore a oval blue badge resembling ford,y fooling us a new fiesta is coming.

What is this VW?

Overall the new Lauretta looks very much similar to the Vento , i am not happy with the name though! Engine options are expected to be the same as in Vento and pricing is expected to be a tad lesser than Vento.

This month's Autocar India has a clean rendering of New Skoda Sedan. And as far as the name is concerned, I think it would be better if they roll back to Rapid.
