Re: "SARAH" - Detailed XUV 5OO Ownership Experience

Thanks Kinshuk, BHVM, - M & M folks have changed my head light bulbs this time. Also replaced the clutch pedal, when I took for a test ride with technical manager, he recommed to replace the clutch pedal. M & M have done this for free.

LED is going to be identical to what bhvm suggested? please continue share when you get one.

I am told, engine oil, coolants, refrigerants are classified as consumables and will not be covered. Unfortunately the policy does not say anything explicitly [anger] . Is there a way to get to bottom of it?

Kinshuk, things are not straight as you think. I get two different versions, customer service folks says consumables are covered under 0 dep bumper to bumper based on life of the car (usually till 5 years) and if we further stress they transfer to claims dept and you get a exactly opposite version. My renewal is due and I putting some effort to get this straight. However each provider will have different set of guidelines. Why don't they explicitly mention this on policy and make people know well inadvance what the liability is. Thanks for actively responding to my queries. Much appreciate your time.

I'm now using L&T and couldn't be happier with their top-notch professional services. They're flexible on IDV. This link has details on other recommended providers.

Somehow L&T was not their in my radar but I could get a sense from local M&M body shop that there is a preference to Royal Sundaram and ICICI Lombard at least in Chennai, going by the history of claim settlements. thanks for the link.

kinshuk.arya & BHVM - is there a specific brand you recommend for Hid h7 kit. Suggest me if I can buy online? Shoud I replace both Low and High beam? or Is ok to change low beam alone? My friend got it done on his new duster from a local dealer OSRAM 35 W it cost him close to 20k for both the sets. Please advise.

I have excellent experience with Royal Sundaram claim processing. Have got 2 big cash-less claims without any hassle. Bajaj Allianz is another good company. Have been recommended L&T for my new car by the dealer and will go for it.

20k is loot.
most decent ones are near 6k max. don't buy online as install is as important as product. hid shall be in low beams only.

Closing on my insurance, I went with ICICI Lombard this time. Since Royal Sundaram and ICICI are preferred at these service locations in Chennai.

BHVM - Can you please name any decent ones? The one my friend got is OSRAM Xenarc..35w, 4200..Should I leave the High Beam as it is then?

hid are not meant to be switched on-off so they can't be used in high beam. also the glare is horrible.

4200k is the correct colour temperature. stay away from 8000k or even 6000k.

I'll suggest you get p8 55w ones or Philips 35w ones near 6-7k rupees.
