Very detailed and nice writeup suhaas. This is the most popular colour on xuv.I myself own a red XUV.Love its colour but dust is easily visible on darker shades. The name chosen is a personal choice, but it has soft and delicate undertones to it.Do you think xuv is more tough and sturdy compared to the name it is given by you.? By the way, your descriptions are very informative, and I like them. Please post the pictures of average you get on the infotainment screen.

Re: "SARAH" - Detailed XUV 5OO Ownership Experience

Updates,

Sarah got new looks with full set of Bridgestone Dueller tyres.

Left side pull has been greatly arrested but steering towards left is a bit stiff at the moment when compared to right side.

When driving uphill - in 1st gear the vehicle traverse backwards with bumper to bumper traffic it took away my confidence. I could see a problem but M & M specialist claims it is due to the natural gravity of motion the vehicle moves backward until clutch completely disengages. I have asked for their professional to accompany for a test drive in Chennai preferably to St. thomas mount. I have not turned on uphill feature when I experienced the weird behaviour. It is second or third time I faced the issue. 1st time during my Munnar trip[cry].
Has anyone seen this weird behavior? or have you come across this issue in any forums?

Feedback after 1st servicing:

Vehicle cruises very smoothly after 1st servicing.
Cleaning was not done properly the body is completely rough.
Inside panels looks like there was a hush rush wipe off with a wet cloth and LCD panel and interiors are hazy in appearance.
Reverse camera stopped displaying as a side effect of servicing

more next week,

After the Bodyshop, the bonnet is rough unlike the past, not sure why it is that way but escalated to M & M. Any guess??

are you able to feel tiny spots on the bonnet?
It is because of the dusty, dirty and oily environment or may be because they might have parked your vehicle under a tree.

Try washing a small area or wipe it down with a wet MF cloth.

Try buffing with ScratchX or similar Swirl remover before escalating. It could be just dust adhered to due to dried Shampoo or Tree/Bird Grime which was Half-wiped. Or due to wiping with Contaminated Cloth.

There are no visual spots as such, but when I run hand over the bonnet it is rough. I was under the same impression, a proper wash it should go away.

I setup a test drive session with M & M sometime this week to simulate the transmission issue, will go for a drive to St. Thomas mount in Chennai. In 1st gear, the vehicle traverses backwards (especially on a slant surface (uphill). It happened this week during my trip to Tirumala. Will post you if the issue turns out to be my driving style or anything wrong with gear engagement.

You have to "ACTIVATE" the Hill Hold control by Double Tap on Brake pedal!
Its not mentioned anywhere and I learnt it by pure chance. Do it. You'll love it![roll]

Hill Hold Control works only for the first time when your vehicle stops on an incline.

I dont know if the double tapping will work or not will have to get it clarified.

limit of hill hold is only 4 seconds. I wish it was more. after vehicle rolls. such little perks are mentioned in my thunderbolt xuv review.

I need some suggestion, I would like to upgrade my headlights - what is the best option? I followed BHVM and Kinshuk.arya discussions - those are too technical and they browsed diversified options. I really appreciate if you could share some thoughts or point me to the post. My low beam lights have completely deceived me last time I drove to my home town.I need to upgrade ASAP.

How much is the warranty currently? I guess its 3 years for old cars. The First batch got 5 years.

But now the 2014 models are back to 1 year and you have to BUY extended one. I'll say its worth it if something expensive goes poof. My music system has been repaced twice under warranty and is still bugging.

Get 55W ones. better glow inside the projector. I am also planning to go for an LED bar in the front. WE should be able to buy the extended Warranty even after sometime.
