Re: "SARAH" - Detailed XUV 5OO Ownership Experience

As bhvm has suggested go with P8HID kits. 55W 4300K color temperature, get it installed from a professional because the headlight assembly is too congested to even put your hand properly in it.

Do not use HID in High Beam. If you are keen for mroe light in High beams as well go for a 55W Osram Nightbreaker in the high beams but no HID.

55W P8 should not cost you more than 9-10k for a pair.

Majority of the Osram and Philips HID kits available in India are fake.

One of my friends is coming from US in couple of weeks from now, will it be good idea to get it from there and have it fixed here?
Any thoughts / suggestions?

installation is the important part as well. otherwise even the best kits would be ruined. I had to change the high beam bulb once... I had to remove the Battery, somewhat of air intake and what not. took 2 hours. very difficult

not a child's play.

Re: "SARAH" - Detailed XUV 5OO Ownership Experience

P8 55w HID cost me Rs.10500/- an year back including installation !

Installation on XUV is pure mess, get it done from a good installer ! [frustration]

About getting it from abroad, you can get but what if it doesn't work on the first run itself ? Can you get it replaced ? I would suggest to buy it from where you install it so in case of any damage during installation you don't have to bother.

Re: "SARAH" - Detailed XUV 5OO Ownership Experience

Thanks shreeni0403 will get a quote from them but do they cover the fitting as well or will I have to get it done elsewhere?

Does 55 W cause any damage to the low beam projectors? I understand Kinshuk.arya got upgraded so any observations so far would help.

Hi BHVM / all , I am thinking of getting this car top carrier, but not sure will it work with the rails on XUV in Indian conditions. May be I need to get clams as well. Since it is detachable, I am leaning towards. Please advise. I did not get a chance to use this stuff when I lived in US but have seen some using. Please take a look and let know your suggestions.

Shop for the Rightline Car Top Carrier 100S30 at an always low price from Walmart.com. Save money. Live better.

55w may cause damage in long term due to higher uv radiation. but that would be definitely 5 years plus.

i have a roof rack since 1.5 years. no issues. it's not fixed on roof rails actually. it fixes on roof via clams. (no drill )

I just got the quote from authorized distributor but purchased from a installer. Installer actually gave me at a discounted price as well. Including installation I got it for 10500. [clap]

Stock bulbs are also 55w and afaik Halogen heats up more than HID's. My gut feel is, if not better it should be as safe as halogen atleast.

In fog 55w HID heat might be more than 35w Halogen. But I hardly use fogs, so it shouldn't be a issue.

I was referring to this one [:)] detachable.
Won't this bag scratch the roof ?

?
this is where most people mess up. uv radiation is different than thermal (heat ) radiation.

still shouldn't be bad for 3-4 years
