Congratulations [ clap ]. They say the 'Reserve' is 4Ltr

Did you get the fancy number for 3K? What fancy it is? Is it just the Odd number (7,9) or something like 2255 [ :) ]
When I asked during my car registration, they were asking 6K for odd number (1,3,5,7,9) and 30-60K for the number we like. If I get the number which I like for 3K, can very well go for it. Not worried about odd/even etc.

I booked Thunderbird 350 on Last Saturday (9th March). Waiting Period is 8-10 Months. Heard that if you have some letter from ministers or influential persons, we get it on a priority. They will send the letter to Chennai. Once they approve it, we will get accordingly.

Has anyone tried 'this method of influence' ? I booked in BSK 2nd Stage HSR Service showroom.

Regards
Congrats on your booking.[thumbsup] It is really worth waiting 8 months. I never regret my decision to take delivery of my cancelled TB. Yes I paid 3000/- for 4140. I was offered to select any number starts with 41.
If you had gone through my experience, I think influence is possible. I got my vehicle in 25 days time (though he offered to deliver in 10-15 days) after having some heated arguments with the showroom people.

Oh God 8-10 months of wait for a bike[surprise], that is too much and it really surprise me to note that bikes are delivered on priority with political influence[ lol ]

I wish you get your bike very soon buddy !! and in this case GNS is lucky
even people waiting for their bike even after 14 months in Bangalore. I have seen few people booked for Classic in 2011 coming and enquire about status when I went for delivery of my TB.
For me nothing to regret, after waiting 8 -10 months, you are getting a bike which makes you feel proud and confident.

@gls

Thanks for the reply. Your case was different right?
Thanks for clearing my doubt about Registration.
Anything done about wobbly speedo/tachometer ? I feel that shakes a bit ?

@Gurrala74,
What to do bro. That is the reason I cancelled by order 1 1/2 year back. (That was booked in my native. Did not even take that 1000rs back). Feeling good of that decision (2012 model).

I am personally against taking favors from people ! This time, I may even do that [anger]

Some how I feel it is bit too much to wait for 8-10 months for a bike in present space age, do you know how many things happens within 8 to 10 months. Any way its my personal opinion and I respect your love on the TB and wish Appus get it fast with some way or the other

Yes, it shakes. But I think it was made that way. They are using rubber washer in between to tighten meter console to its base.
I think this rubber washer was used to avoid breakage of that leg connecting meter console to base.
If you remove the rubber washer (about 2mm thick) , you can stop shaking of console, but there are more chance your speedo meter may come out while riding through rough roads/potholes.

Completely agree. No other options. That is why less number of bullets (RE) on road. If they had reduced to one or two months, sales would have doubled.

Its like people going for apple products. Feels like you are getting a quality product. (personally I am not an i-fan. I like android device)

Got an Activa and Access for the moment. Still Thunderbird is Thunderbird.

Regards

My mate has crossed 490Km today. The MID started to indicate "Service Due" symbol from 451 K onwards. Yes, Service due on 500km and I have already booked First Service for tomorrow.

As per Service manual, Oil change and General service is due on first service. Other than General service, I need to get the following checked.

1. Chain cover provided on rear has already broken. It was thin PVC cover which got cut while washing rear wheel. Need to replace it. No idea how much it will cost.
2. There is humming sound from both the breaks. Its so irritating while applying breaks at low speed. Got to get this checked.
3. Will ask for if any adjustment possible for rear shocks. Feel bit bumpy while riding alone. But with pillion, its perfect. However want to conform with the Service people.
4. Got to check if adjustments possible on Low bean throw from headlamp. I think complete headlight assembly needs to tilt downwards for proper focus on Low/High beams.

Other than above, I am pretty happy with performance of my beast.

Update on mileage:
ODO on last reserve : 268
ODO on latest reserve : 466
Petrol filled : 5.14L

Mileage: 198/5.14 = 38.5 kmpl.

Hope this will improve after Service.

This can be sorted out by simply cleaning the brake pads and the disc which anyway the service guys follow it routinely.

The FE numbers are very impressive

First Free Service finally over.
Free Service did cost me Rs/- 1056.00 including replacement of damaged chain guard.
All my complaints except shocks adjustment has been done and TB seems lot more smooth now. Gear change became easy.
Fair amount of wobbling/shivering at low speed has been reduced and I can clearly see every one appears on my RVM.
Chain guard has been replaced for Rs/- 95.
Humming sound from brakes has disappeared. But rear brake became weak. Technician said it will be good enough once the disk gets dry.
Head light assembly tilted slightly. Need to check light throw in night

How much do you expect for a free service? I was expecting only the cost of engine oil. But surprisingly the bill was as follows...

Engine oil - 629.75
Oil Filter - 77.86
Chain Guard - 95.00
Consumable - 84.27
Lubrication - 84.27
Polishing - 84.27

Total - 1055.46

However, I am impressed with the performance after first service. I can feel it, the ride became lot more smooth.

Nice to know that most of your problems got solved.

1065RS on First free service. My Swift Dzire never crossed 1000rs on free service [:)]

Chain Guard in one month - Charged again.
Polishing / Lubrication also charged extra. Way to get the actual service charge even in free service.

Thanks for your update. Happy & Safe Driving !

The Oil change will be charged for, Oil Filter will be replaced on every service so will be charged for as well, chain guard since its broken (you said it happened while water washing can't believe it) consumable? wonder what are those, lubrication of what chain?? (shouldn't cost more) unless they used a chain lubrication oil & polishing of the whole bike or just the Tank & the side panel covers?

I was too shocked. I was trying to put my hand inside for washing wheel and chain guard. I was in an impression that the guard was made of metal. But it was a thin PVC/Fiber piece which breaks easily. I have to wash carefully to avoid pay again.

I had an argument with them regarding this. They said they are charging for Kerosene, petrol, grease, cotton waste etc... used for washing. Anyway, service was done at Teknik Motors at ORR near Agara/Iblur. Will check with other service center next time.

polishing of the whole bike or just the Tank & the side panel covers?
Polishing was done for whole bike including wheel, tires, Engine parts etc....

Latest update on FE
Petrol filled : 10.2 L
Mileage : 376 KM
Efficiency: 376/10.2 = 36.86 Kmpl

Though I did expect the FE to increase after first service, for my disappointment it is going the other way down.

My Bike has covered 850 KM now. I took him for a 50KM (one side) ride through Sarjapur road towards Hoskote today. The ride was ok if comfort is concerned. But I felt it lacks power. Overtaking needs to be careful on highways. Pickup is bit less when comparing with my old pulsar. I understood TB is a cruiser and not a speedster. I still needs to get used to its Highway behavior.
From today morning, I could hear a weird sound while releasing accelerator. The moment I release throttle, there was a kind of "tick" tick sound from somewhere close to its engine unit. I took him immediately to Teknik motors and asked them to check the chain. My guess was true and that sound disappeared now after tightening the chain.
After tightening chain, I can feel some change in the power delivery as the bike is moving fast and wobbling has reduced promisingly. I think the loosened chain was the cause of that powerless feeling on my way to Hoskote.
However, even though I tried hard, I could not take him beyond 90kmph. Though many says it can go upto 110-120 kmph, I think it is too hard to take him beyond that.
