Re: Flipkart the Great India Diwali Cheat cyber cell offer

This is definitely not good all this time I thought Flipkart sells authentic products but after reading this I guess I will never buy any electronic product online.

Re: Flipkart the Great India Diwali Cheat cyber cell offer

Certified buyers in that lists who complained were minimal though ! (who actually bought from them)

Sorry to be harsh.
To all guys who do not know how most of the online shopping works.

They either allow others to sell on their websites or they get from distributors. (even directly from companies too)
Flipkart or any other distributors/seller would not open and check each product and see it is working or not. So, they do is replace with a different product.

If they had got a batch full of product which were faulty from Nokia's end, what Flipkart can do unless they know about it ?
Do you think Flipkart wants to earn bad reputation by selling these kind of products which do not work for 2 hours ?

Let us not blame any one for not theirs fault.
If you get an open piece which is checked by flipkart, we cry saying 'i got an open piece used by someone'
If they send a brand new piece and was not working, we say 'selling products which are dead'

Escalate the problem especially with electronic products which they do not even check.

I had bad experience with Flipkart. That does not mean that flipkart is cheating customers by knowing the product is bad.
They have 30 days replacement guarantee

An example:
I purchased a CPU from flipkart. Got a motherboard from local store.
Fixed it. Installed it and found the performance not so great. Returned the CPU to flipkart and bought a higher end one.

Should flipkart throw the product which costs 12000rs? Or sell to someone when it reaches them back ? I would love to see them selling at a less price than the current market price with 'Open Box' tag. But, that is not happening here like USA. Then, they may start charging stocking fee etc. (The above scenario is a real incident - the price was bit cheap from local market & did not complain as it was working well).

If I had got a phone which looked like an open piece, I would have rejected it then and there. If i had got a dead phone (DOA) , I would have asked them for a replacement

@Arjitb
If you make 30K purchase on your 1Lakh credit card, It shows 70K as available credit limit. That will increase every month after paying every month.

At times, when the bank interface get some problem, the amount gets debited in a shot. You just need to call the customer care of Online store and ask them to do it. I had faced the same problem with Homeshop18 twice. Later they credited the money & deducted as EMIs .

While i agree they have been known to raise prices and offer "discounts", i do not agree they sell refurbs online.

You can get enough testimony on ebay for each dealer/seller.
many of them are mostly shop owners who trade in wholesale mobile selling business.

Whenever you receive a product make sure that you receive a perfectly sealed product.
no refurbs are available off the shelf which are also completely seal packed unless the company wishes to sell refurbs disguised as new products. in that case the onus lies on the manufacturer in this case nokia.

@ appus
I am not saying flipkart is bad but almost all the phone sold under the offer are faulty. How this is possible?

blame lies with the manufacturer - nokia. And if you want to abuse anyone, it should be NOKIA.

flipkart is just a medium. flipkart or the matter most online companies give 15/30 days money back guarantee. So nothing is lost yet. But yes the fun and excitement is gone when you face such an issue. I would put the blame solely on Nokia and its QC for letting such a lot pass through.

and remember only those people vent their frustrations who face issues. Flipkart must have sold thousands of phones during this sale. If a handful have issues they have every right to complaint but you cant blame the retailer/seller when the product itself has manufacturing defect.

Hi,

My cousin also had bad experience with Flipkart. He had also purchased Nokia Lumia 920 on Diwali offer from Flipkart. He also had similar experience of bad performance from the phone. At first Flipkart didn't reply to emails from my cousin and on contacting their customer care they said a technical team will get back to him on the issue. After waiting my cousin decided to act and he posted the entire ordeal in FB. Once everyone started to take notice Flipkart contacted him and agreed to replace the phone.

My cousin swears he will never buy from Flipkart ever again.

Sankar

@surfer,
Your post title was about 'Flipkart' cheating customers by selling non-working products. It is NOKIA who made the faulty devices. Believe me, even Nokia would not like to make bad products/devices like the one sold. It is them who should take care of the phone when customer complaints.

@sankar,
Nice to see the power of Social Media.
I had bad experience from

Shopclues - Purchased more than 50-60 items. Had problem once or twice
Tradus - Purchased 50-60 items. Had problems many times.
Homeshop18- More than 75 items (from clothes to laptops) - Had problems few times
Ebay - Bought 50Rs item to a lakh worth items (more than 100s with two ids)- Had problems too.
Pepperfry - Less than 20 items. Had problems.
Flipkart - N number of items. Had problems few times.
Snapdeal - 30-40 items. Had problems many times.
Fetise - Bought 1. Problem with that itself.
Groupon - Bought 20+ , got problems couple of times.
futurebazaar (bigbazar) - Bought twice. Faced problem both times.

Not faced problem so far
Grabmore (India) - Bought twice.
Medplus -Bought twice
Amazon - Bought twice
Indiatimes - Bought two - three , never had problem (you read the worst reviews for this particular site)
Yebhi - Bought 20 times or more . Never had any glitch. The best so far for me.
Rediff - Bought twice. No problems (Another hopeless site by most of the regular shopping people)

I have left few shopping sites where i have purchased. These are the names I remember now.
I might have forgotten few sites for sure (remembered few more while typing and added).

In the above list, few are blacklisted as per my experience. I will never visit fetise.com whose MD is following everyone in twitter. I have taken a break from Tradus as per pathetic customer support (will visit and check it later). I had to tweet to Munde (CEO) to get it noticed. They gave some 300 Gift voucher as a compliment which I wont use it. They think customers easily get everything forgotten if they give some thing free (even 50rs).

Flipkart easily resolved my case. Will visit there again.
HS18. They do not respond to mail. Once you tweet to them, they take care immediately and solve it. (if it is above 10k, you have some one assigned to you).
Ebay - Big purchases came without any surprises. Small purchases had surprises (duplicate items etc). When it is less than 200Rs, I sometimes do not even care writing endless mails. Once I had escalated and solved to my satisfaction.

Shopclues - Tweet works. Email hardly works.
Snapdeal - They were ready to help and i was lazy to send products back. They refund more than replace.
Pepperfry - Tweet works. Got refunded without much fuss.

Online shopping - Use wisely.

Clothing - Go for brand products than unknown brands which gives surprises.
Electronics - Make sure you get a box piece which is not opened.
Big items (TVs, Washing machines) - Go to a local dealer and see the product. If the difference is not much, buy it from local dealer. (Mostly big items are send from that city itself)
Most importantly, check for the TAX paid bill which can be used for warranty.

Remaining - your luck [frustration]

I agree with all your points buddy.
But my point is how can they ship 100+ of faulty mobiles?
And even how can Noika pass 100+ faulty mobiles?

I got new mobile now and its working fine ...
I appreciate quick replacement given by flipkart but how can I believe that my phone will last longer ?
I can see than everyone who posted review got replacement phone , and some of them even got issue in replaced phone.

So how can be trust ? or its always luck ?

PS: I am using my old nokia phones since years without issues. I think then I am lucky. [:)]

Is that a problem with flipkart ? Or is it a problem with Nokia ?
I see it as a problem with Nokia.

If you get a worm in a 5-star which is made in oct-13 , will you give police complaint against the small shop who sold it or against Cadbury ?
If the shopkeeper gives you a samosa / sandwich made by them, you should go back and shout at shop.

Same way, Flipkart buy materials as a whole 1000-10000 pieces and Nokia supplies. So, It is the Quality of Nokia questioned not Flipkart who gave it at a lesser price.

And, again - It was not only Nokia 920 they sold on this festive season. They have given offers on all the products. So, do you think they sell second hand/refurbished clothes / HDDs / watches / TVs/ mobiles during this season ?

Will you accept a piece which is opened and checked (tampered seal) by Flipkart ? I would not !

OT : The 1TB HDD purchased from distributors (Seagate) crashed in one month. Whom to blame? Seagate / Distributor or myself. !!!

For books and other stuff flipkart is the best.
That’s what I’d have preferred but Flipkart is selling it for twice of its real price. Anyways received the book but with a layer of dust as if it was buried under somewhere deep.

I think there is paperback and other editions. See the MRP of the book. If it is less than what you are charged, go to consumer court [evil]. I mean it.

These days, I search books in amazon, homeshop, bookadda & flipkart. Buy it where ever it is cheaper ;)

Both the merchants are offering hardcover edition. Price mentioned on the book is in USD but it still turned out to be cheaper with Rediff although at a cost of delay in shipping.

Agree - but flipkart should send a message to Nokia that cos of your product we are getting balmed. Its not only me but everyone is complaining about flipkart!!
Please go through this - Reviews Nokia Lumia 920 Mobile - Latest Review of Nokia Lumia 920, India | Flipkart.com
PS : Read till past 10 pages

See why there is doubt in mind , lumia 920 is selling at 23k still , and certainly flipkar is selling it ofr 17k. Hence people doubt why certain price drop ?
Flipkart might have bulk orders etc ... hence they are managing price that's ok. But as many people are complaining then flipkart should also be blamed. Or atlest they should clarify from their side.

And, again - It was not only Nokia 920 they sold on this festive season. They have given offers on all the products. So, do you think they sell second hand/refurbished clothes / HDDs / watches / TVs/ mobiles during this season ?
Might be I haven't gone through other reviews.
PS: The special price offer was only on very selected products and not all products.

Will you accept a piece which is opened and checked (tampered seal) by Flipkart ? I would not !
Ofcource not!

OT : The 1TB HDD purchased from distributors (Seagate) crashed in one month. Whom to blame? Seagate / Distributor or myself. !!!
Seagate
But if it breaks on day 1 then? and also there were same issues faced by 100+ people then?

My cousin swears he will never buy from Flipkart ever again.
See people are blaming flipkart and not Nokia !!!

if deliveries are late as with 350z then he has full right to register his protest with rediff ( as his case ) but when the product is faulty as in the case with 920, you dont blame the messenger.
