Except the bling factor not much improvement in light output is there compared to the stock halogen. I will fix a 100/90 for the time being. Later will upgrade to projectors.

Thanks for the reply.

Are you going for 100/90 with a relay kit? Will it have any impact on warranty?
Of course relay is a must for any upgrade with higher wattage bulbs.

It should not void complete warranty but it may may void the warranty of the headlamp assembly if they suspect there is any damage to HL assembly due to excessive heat from the upgraded bulbs.

But lastly it all depends from the ASS/SA. I have seen SA paying no attention to these whereas another SA creating issue of it. So, make a friend in the ASC .

You have to purchase separate wiring harness with integrated relay and fuse for upgrading the bulbs to 100/90W. These also comes with ceramic holders to cope with the higher heat.
This will draw power directly from the battery and use the main oem switch to activate the relay only.
If your SA is not very friendly, you can always remove the harness and fit the original bulbs which will take hardly 10-15 mins before going for servicing.
Hope this helps.

Guys, need your help with this one. I had ordered a H27 LED fog lamps from a AE seller couple of weeks back. I just went through a few feedback's on the seller's page and realized that he is shipping H27 bulbs without connector. I sent a message to the seller and he replied back saying that this is how his bulbs are designed. Please take a look at the pic and let me know if this can be installed on our cars. I found this picture from seller's feedback section.

They can be.
Take your old H27 halogen bulbs, Break them so you have the connector part.
now take these wires and solder it to the inside of connector. Does not get safer than that.

Make sure you check the polarity before soldering though.

Yes, you gotta check these kind of little intricacies before finalizing the payment.
I bought a H8 HID kit for my fog lights, the bulbs of which were perfect for the housing but the H8/H11 connectors weren't there and had wire ends just like yours. Connected them and they were working fine but it was unsafe. Since there was no other option, I taped the open connections with insulation tape and ordered a better pair with metallic base and proper connectors. Though costlier, I know I am safe.

Shopping from Chinese websites can be a gamble depending on your luck. In my case, the seller did not specify anywhere that there are no connectors. All the sample pics in his listing has connectors. Anyways, i have sent him a strongly worded message that i'm not going to accept a bulb without a connector.

Bhvm Sir,

I own Skoda Rapid Style (facelifted) and Tata Tiago.
So issue with Rapid is that halogen projector which is used for low beam is just atrocious so wanted to upgrade without voiding any warranty. There is one more issue as there is literally no gap behind the headlights.
Tiago lights are useless too, but as my car is driven in day 99% of the time it doesn’t really matter. But for 1% I need to upgrade headlights/fog lights so that performance increases. In this case too I won’t like to void warranty.

Need your suggestions Sirji.

Hello GautamJ,
Your PMs bounced off because my inbox has hit the limit. BTW,

1. Projectors do no do justice with halogens. HID is what you need.
2. In my XUV i have to open battery and coolant resiorvior, Wiper fluid hose and hood retention clip. In I10 i have to remove entire headlights out.
Guess its common these days.
3. No wire splicing will be required. Just a small tear in Dust cap to pass wires. Skill of installer is paramount to preserve warranty.

I beg to differ. My Tiago headlights are much better than most of other similar priced hatchbacks; except the last variant of erstwhile Hyundai Santro.
It is the foglights on Tiago which are useless; just 19w.

I'm planning to go for 55/60w Philips Xtreme Vision Plus bulbs. Just plug and play. No risk on warranty. I have used them earlier in my other cars. These are slightly better in hi-beam than Osram NBs which are better in low-beams.

So finally got the LED fog lamps after an agonizing wait of 1 month thanks to a horrid AE seller. Bulbs came without connector. I had to seal the connection with insulating tape. Overall results are very average. To be brutally honest, it was not a worthwhile upgrade. Overall illumination is maybe 20-30% more the halogen bulbs at most but nowhere near my expectations. I'm still not sure if if i can attribute the poor performance to the bulbs themselves or the Hyundai fog lamp design.

Only positive i can find is that with both fogs and headlights on,area near the car is well illuminated so the potholes are very clearly visible plus LED fogs does enhance the overall look of the car.

I have decided contact AE to file a complaint against the seller for sending a bulb without connector. If AE approves the refund, i will junk these away and try a new pair of fog lamps from a reputed AE seller. Unfortunately my choices are very limited thanks to the brains at Hyundai who came up with their H27 design instead of sticking to H8/H11 like the rest of the brands.

1. buddy i suggest you ditch the idea of led and get 4300k 35w hid as I did for my i10. led does not do justice to reflelctors and especially awkward design of h27. yea it's an odd standard.

2. by the very design of Oem fog lamp this is expected. fogs are designed to illuminate the lower area below low beams so you can drive in fog at low speeds..don't try aiming these up. usually fogs end where low beams start..so they're pretty close. but with hid fogs these themselves are enough for city driving or spotting potholes on highway. again, make sure you really align after bulb upgrade and so that they roughly end at low beam area.

Happy to know I'm not alone. A majority of Tiago owners complain about poor headlights whereas I have always felt them (low beam) to be sufficient. I believe it's the relative brightness that they are comparing with, as almost all car owners immediately swap their bulbs to illegal 90/100 spec.
