Hi Sumesh,

Did you get the LED fog lights and could able to install those? Can you please share your experience?

I own a Xcent and in search of upgrading the fog lights. Your kind inputs will help me. Thanks.
I got the bulbs a few days back but i'm unable to install those. Seller had sent H11 bulb which doesn't fit in Grand i10's fog lamp housing. Connector is a perfect match but the three mounts on H8 bulb is different size than H11. I have sent an email to the seller and waiting for his response. Most of the LED bulb listings in Aliexpress shows H8/H11 as the same but it doesn't appear to be so. here is a pic for reference :

if this Is a Hyundai, more than likely your bulbs are h27..not h8

the halogen bulb in your hand appears h27. however the specs are very close and difficult just to eyeball. sometimes a little sanding /grinding the tabs will help them fit.

You may try filing a prong on the bulb so that it goes into the housing. Be careful while filing as they seem to be made of plastic.
Also the base (with the prongs/tabs) of the LED bulb seems bigger than the halogen, so do check if filing will really help or not.
Hyundais do use H27 for fogs. Take a look at the user manual or the back of the halogen bulb to know the proper bulb type.

@Sumesh - Thanks for the reply. Hope you could manage to install the bulb. Please share your feedback.

All Experts - I am looking for a good H27 W/2 881 LED bulb (preference is without fan) for my Xcent. I got below options in Aliexpress. Can you please suggest which one would be better.

These could well be h27.

Some posts online mentioned that Grand i10 uses H8 bulbs and hence i choose them.
I went trough the user manual but Hyundai has not mentioned the type of bulb used in Grand i10 [frustration]

I have returned back to Bangalore for work and left my car back home so there is no option to open the housing and check the bulb type currently. If the seller refuses to refund then i might try to use the H11 one's by shaving the tabs and try to fit them in somehow. Since the tabs are made of plastic, a sharp blade might do the trick i believe.

Hi Raj,

How did you conclude xcent uses H27 bulbs for fogs? Is is mentioned in Xcent's user manual or did you take the bulb out and checked?

Hyundai is infamous for only using h27 for fogs. They started with Verna and now entire lineup has them. My i10 has them. H27 is a pathetic standard as far output is concerned (27W, 540 Lumens vs H8 35w, 700 lumens or H1 55w 1100 Lumens). Optically they are OK though.

In your case , it looks that Shaving might not help. The central shaft (Circle) itself is larger on LED compared to H27. Shaving works between H8 & H11 but not for H27.

Thanks for the reply. I reviewed your posts on your cool boy. I used HID Kit in fog light and it had to be installed with extra relay kit. Then the light was throwing every where. Somehow did not like it and taken out the set up.

I agree with you that HID probably will give better output but wanted to try Led bulbs. Please suggest to pick one. [:)]

Raj,

Among the links you posts, this one looks good :

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/CRO...4425-4689-a33a-5240c3d84d3d&priceBeautifyAB=0

It looks similar to the one's i bought for my headlights and they are simply brilliant.

Thanks Sumesh.

I had a picture of my Xcent's (Dec 2015 model) OE fog light bulb. Posting this here just in case it might help others to find details of the bulb.

850 was a chump change. So cheap.
I believe the return shipping itself would cost more than 850.
See if you can re-purpose or sell it for use it in other cars. It was'nt seller's mistake anyways.
