Re: Ownership Review: Polo 1.2 TDI Comfortline (Diesel)

Yes even I am worried, would they be able to fix it properly.
I feel that I have got a bad piece [frustration] already I had gear box mounting changed under warranty
No repair of the seats, the whole seat along with the frame needs to be changed, I asked them why they said it cannot be repaired due the Airbags wiring.
Dear Poloman, I was experiencing same problem with my POLO's front passenger seats few days back.

What is it like- Do seats make 'kat-kat' kinda nose, more pronounced when car shakes for any reason like running over uneven roads?
Does it go away if someone is sitting on the seat?

I would like to know whether symptoms are like above. If yes, then the issue is similar to mine.
Ok, still to face any such issues in my Polo but i am little surprise to hear all these problem they should not occurs at first place.

Looking at all these problems we're seeing on this thread.... can VW still boast of "German quality" ???? [surprise]
Or has my understanding of "German quality" changed recently?
You are right at some extent but i am sure VW India will overcome all these initial hiccups, they are doing their bit and doing everything possible to keep their customers happy and i am quite happy to notice this.

One thing we must agree build quality of the car is superb no doubt about that.

Now that they have ordered my seat should I force them to rectify the problem or it is ok to get a new passenger seat. Would like to have your inputs...
IMO if it is covered under warranty and your SA recommends you for a seat change then you can proceed, if you have to pay then request for repair. You can also take the opinion of other service center before taking a final call.

Seat replacement would be done FOC and the most surprising of all is that the advisor took no time in taking the decision, I was atleast expecting some try to repair before replacement. Is this ok, also I would like to tell you that there was some signs of rust when the seat was tilted all the way back where the bearing with the roller gets exposed.
Current POLO owners can look at this [frustration]

Ok , can you find out what was the problem and how they solved it, you would just need to make a call and they will ask the mechanic about the job done. This would help me as they are not able to find the problem and I dont want them to replace the seat.

Let me call the people there. Will let you know asap

1) Garware classic sun control films for Rs 1700 for side and rear glasses film has 45% heat rejection, quite effective till date.
Hows it. Does it give a darker shade to the glass or does it look just like the normal glass?

+1.
The problems would be rectified soon. After all, it's Das Auto [;)]

Re: Ownership Review: Polo 1.2 TDI Comfortline (Diesel)

Thanks I would be waiting, I dont want the seat to be changed .. [frustration]
I called the workshop. Couldn't locate the very guy who repaired the seat but spoke to another guy.
The guy says that there might be something loose inside/below the seat, he mentioned that there is some kinda lock, which becomes loose. Either some tightening job or fixing the slot with some material does the repair.

I think you should ask your service station people to call Atrica Noida. I guess your service station will benefit anthing from replacing your seat, and should be willing to take help from other servcie centers.

You can contact Atrica here: 01204716450. Ask them to let you speak to Dinesh (he is the one whom I called)

THANKS for the help, I would visit them and ask, rather the advisor there told me on phone none of the same issue came to us which involved tightening of screw.
Also I got update of my replacement seat and I was told that I would get only the seat frame shipped from Germany before 2 april, the seats would be fixed on that. Now I am a bit skeptical whether to get it done as earlier I was expecting the whole seat to be replaced.

I would suggest you to keep the replacement on hold. I think such rattling is not that big a issue and you can live with it for few more days.

If you can take sometime out, try visiting Atrica in Noida sector-63. Before that you can also visit a good car repair shop to figure out the problem. Don't get anything done but atleast you will get idea whether the problem is major or not. Experienced garage guys know it all.

I understand how frustrating it is to not have your vehicle at your disposal. Even if you get repairs done for free, no one can pay for the discomfort caused and wastage of time.

Hmm. As I expected, the seat is arriving from germany.
Since it comes under warranty, there is no problem. But if you need to fix it soon. Then try visiting some local garage. They might be able to help you!

Today, the SA called me and he told me that your seat frame is being changed due to rust. All polo owners can look a the deposition of rust after you tilt it backwards exposing the roller and bearing. If this is common and can be cleaned I would not like the original fittment to be disturbed.

@poloman
If it's rusted, then I insist you to get it replaced. Or else in the future, you yourself can experience problems which might not come under warranty! [confused]
Let me check the seat frame in my car. *rushes to the car* [:D]
