Re: Ownership Review: Polo 1.2 TDI Comfortline (Diesel)

I inquired about the Highline alloys at the time of booking, they told me that they don't come in accessories.

You are getting a good deal, for outside alloy please contact your nearest VW dealer or VW customer care for void warranty details. I think outside alloy and tyre size up-gradation will surely void car's warranty also you can face insurance claim issues in case of major accident as mods are not allowed as per the insurance clauses, correct me if i am wrong.
Yes you are rite, but if they have given them in Highline without tweaking the suspension then why not trendline/comfortline owners have them.
Also they write their clause like this .. it may void warranty just to be on a safer side , actually all depends on dealer world class automobile service IMO is spot on. I met an uncle who failed to even get their service done on time but still managed to claim the engine head assembly under warranty. [clap]
I am going to World class automobiles moti nagar tomorrow, would get this info from them for sure.

You are right in that, IMO until or unless a product matches manufacturer's specifications and standard there should not be a problem and you will not find many fully compliant product outside.

Re: Ownership Review: Polo 1.2 TDI Comfortline (Diesel)

This is how the warranty void case of alloy goes. If you put any aftermarket alloys from outside. Then it will void the warranty of your car. But if you put an aftermarket alloy from the authorised dealer, then you won't get the warranty void. Seems dumb, but it's true.

The worst part is that they charge a high price for the alloy which you can get it from outside for 1/4th of the price. While I bought the car, I enquired about an alloy & they said 80k for set of four [surprise]. I checked it & it was just a normal aftermarket alloy which might cost max 20k! Its just like daytime robbery [lol].

This is quite a wrong practice, manufacturer should be more flexible and pro consumer i wish some regulatory agency were in place to keep tab on such malpractice by dealers and companies.

I think manufacturers might be trying to protect their top end variant if we get everything from accessories shop then sales of higher variants may decline steeply just a wild thought [:D]

Not only Volkswagen. All the dealers/companies are doing the same.
If an agency was there, it would have been quite nice.

And yeah, the Volkswagen Keychain is available at the dealer at a price of 500rs. I have the fake one given by them for free. [lol]

Hmm. Can be! But still, there are quite number of people who buy it for a huge amount from the dealers. [frustration]

Yes even I am worried, would they be able to fix it properly.
I feel that I have got a bad piece [frustration] already I had gear box mounting changed under warranty
No repair of the seats, the whole seat along with the frame needs to be changed, I asked them why they said it cannot be repaired due the Airbags wiring.

Dear Poloman, I was experiencing same problem with my POLO's front passenger seats few days back.

What is it like- Do seats make 'kat-kat' kinda nose, more pronounced when car shakes for any reason like running over uneven roads?
Does it go away if someone is sitting on the seat?

I would like to know whether symptoms are like above. If yes, then the issue is similar to mine.

Exact. The issue was difficult to catch because everytime I showed them, someone or myself used to sit on the passenger chair and the noise was not audible then.

Looking at all these problems we're seeing on this thread.... can VW still boast of "German quality" ???? [surprise]
Or has my understanding of "German quality" changed recently?

Dude. I got the problem rectified yesterday only. Went to VW Atrica Noida and one mechanic was easily able to mend it within no time. I was not present when he did the job, but it must have taken tightening of few nuts and bolts only. The seat is completely mute now.

Take it to workshop and speak to some mechanic before speaking to advisor. People at workshop floor know better than advisors. I don't think they have to change the seats altogether for such small problem.

Ok , can you find out what was the problem and how they solved it, you would just need to make a call and they will ask the mechanic about the job done. This would help me as they are not able to find the problem and I dont want them to replace the seat.

Now that they have ordered my seat should I force them to rectify the problem or it is ok to get a new passenger seat. Would like to have your inputs...
