Re: Ownership Review: Polo 1.2 TDI Comfortline (Diesel)

In my opinion, the high security number plates look better than any other style that lies with accessories shops.

What is this emergency quota now? I can't imagine what 'bhasad' would be seen at RTO offices when it becomes mandatory soon.
Buddy, is the change of registration plates to high security ones, free or is charged? If yes, how much did you pay for them and what all costs are involved?

freakdude.
I paid 1000 bucks for this emergency quota through which you can order for high security number plates directly from the center irrespective of RTO area on urgent basis, you can get your number plates within couple of days with no paper work and no payment receipt though they will keep a copy of RC that's it. If you want they will show your vehicle registration number in computer with status high security number plates are fixed.

High security number plates are charged 250 Rs as far as I know. I am still not sure about the emergency quota though.
I think for newly registered four wheeler charges are around 36X bucks, we paid this amount of our new CNG waggy will post exact amount and bill receipt in evening.

1000 bucks is too much. How many days would the normal procedure take? Any idea?

I am really scared when these plates become mandatory, we will see them selling in black in really high prices, may be 10k [lol]

An emergency quota "fee" of 1000 against the actual fee of 250 can be digested, but don't you think they should do the necessary paperwork and give receipt of at-least 250. Are these real plates or just imitations.

Nopes these are real from the designated vendors, they will show your number status online on RTO list.

Below sites provides the address of vendors for each RTO in Delhi. Though phone number of these vendors are not working but the addresses are correct.

Even the status always shows - 'Order not received.....', and never gets updated.

Yes, for new cars, the cost of HSRP is around 364 INR. Sometimes the dealers include it in the OTR price list and get the receipt for you along with the RC, which you take to the RTO and get the plates affixed. At other times, they'll just give you a certificate along with the RC that you need to take to the RTO, make the payment for the above mentioned amount and get the plates fixed.

Re: Ownership Review: Polo 1.2 TDI Comfortline (Diesel)

Today morning i gave my Explorer-1 for general checkup to VW Delhi-West (World class automobiles pvt ltd) Motinagar. Why this general checkup? Me and my Polo will be heading for 2K km Rajasthan trip next week.

My SA recommended me for DO Campaign 17E6 & 72E3 for which i refused, in this they proposed to raise the GC by 25MM by placing spacers but after seeing few already raised vehicles i refused for this. Why i refused? first it effects the front looks of the car and second i am not facing any issues due to this.

VW started this campaign after requests made by few customers and this campaign is optional and free of cost till your vehicles are in under warranty after that one has to pay 1K bucks for the same. I also requested for a metal sump guard on which they will get back to me initial quote was 1k for same.

Will update more on all this in evening.

Can you tell me the uses of that please? My car does scrape it's bottom quite a bit though I have a feeling it is the hard mud flap rather than the actual bottom of the car that is scraping.

I am planning to take my car to Leh this or next year so was toying with this idea for long else for normal city ride i don't think they are required.

You felt it right they are mud flaps, check they might loosen few of the bolts.

Good that you decided not to go for the spacers to increase the GC, that would have screwed up the wonderful dynamics of your polo. also check out the sump guard in the outside market.

I understand since this driving dynamic is the most important thing in this car for me among many other things.

I don't think so.
Another member GM88 got the spacers and he has not observed any difference in ride and handling.
