Re: Ownership Review: Polo 1.2 TDI Comfortline (Diesel)

@GM88: Below are procedures i just found from the internet. As i said earlier i am not sure if VW will do this or even approve of it.I am just hoping there is someway to save my vehicle from the damage.
Adding extra leaf in leaf spring blade
To all polo diesel owners, regarding ground clearance:

Today I went to workshop in Noida for replacement of my rear light which broke few days back. Saw a polo diesel with broken sump guard with from which oil was leaking out. I was discussing with an advisor about ground clearance and stuff, to which he told me that VW new diesel polo batches will have improved ground clearances of about 2 inches (quite a lot I guess!) and VW will be providing remedy or modification to current owners too. He said that they will be adding extra leaf or extra spring to the shockers which will increase the GC to great extent. The approved process of modification will start from about 15-20 days from now as per VW's instructions.

So, all you guys thinking about things to improve GC, may like to wait for few more days and get in touch with your workshop people.

Looking forward to it soon even if it costs a few thousand bucks.

Surely this is good news for all existing Polo owners. Do let us know Rightnow whenever it comes to your knowledge as and when VW starts the process.

Today workshop guys delivered my Polo at my in laws place total bill was 11xx bucks only which includes around 280 bucks as delivery charge and 500 bucks as insurance access charge. Will post pics and more details once I reach Delhi in few days.

Regarding GC I am sure it will not be 2 inches and secondly I doubt that introduce any such scheme that too free lets wait and watch for any such move by them.

I am happy with current setup and will not opt for this even if they introduce it. Increase in GC will for sure effect dynamics of the car in my opinion.

It won't be 2 inches, may be 2cm, may be he used the wrong units. I also asked him about ride and handling he said there won't be any side effects to it. Well its his job to say so.
Still, if there is some amount of truth in the whole information, I am happy that vw is thinking about the customers. I will follow up with him and let you all know.

If its 2cms, is it gonna make a difference?

Neat work done ToughGuy. Your Polo is looking gorgeous as ever. So they changed the bumper or repaired the old one only?
On a funny note - I'm sure your insurance guy will also be praying you don't come again for any more claims.[:)] Drive safe!

Thanks GM88, bumper was replaced as old one got few cracks because of the impact caused due to the collision.

I am very happy with my Insurance provider, they obliged all my claims without any fuss kudos to them and VW service center for facilitating the same!
