Dealers usually keep there stocks in open yards, cars stocked up for months in open are prone/bound to rust and other issues if they are lying unused (especially in open) for so many days. Near coastal area this problem is more serious.

I advice everyone to refrain themselves from buying too much old/stocked cars for sake of few bucks which may give pain to you in future.

Above are my personal opinion which may differ person to person.

Good you had not purchased an stocked car, i think in Chakan plant cars were parked in open saw this in booklet containing plant pics. I think majority of manufacturers in India parked cars in open, correct me if i am wrong. Important thing is for how long they parked car in open.

Did you decoded your VIN number what is the manufacturing date?

You should opt for latest manufactured car
every car manufacturer has expiry period of vehicle. It means that before expiry period expires dealer has to sale the car otherwise he sends the car back to vw and they recycle the car and I guess till the time car is in plant it is as good as new. My only concern was dealers stock yard

I slightly differs from your view, IMO all time matters irrespective of period spends by car at Plant or dealer yards, vehicle remains unused and rests in open (in most of the cases).

Poloman both are area of concern.

Well toughguy I don't think that the manufactured cars would be left just like that in open in Chakan plant until they are dispatched to dealers. Even if the cars lie as inventories, huge investment still goes into maintenance of such inventories.

I can fairly assume that Volkswagen Chakan Plant is not a confectionery store to disregard the unsold stuff.

My polo was manufactured in June and Poloman's polo July. We both are experiencing the problem of rattling. Going by that, may be some part is faulty in the batch. Even then, why haven't the Delhi dealers come across similar issue from other buyers?

I have not figured out the cause of rattling noise in my polo, neither has poloman. But for me, this idea of manufacturing date, cars lying in open areas etc. is certainly not buyable.

Cars which is left open for a long time is not good IMO. It can damage the vehicle. Just take the case of a wood or a plastic kept in open space for a long time. It shows gradual change in color due to temperature. And results is damage.

And have you guys got any info on how many polo owners are there in TAI. What about starting a new thread like "Polo Owner's Club" where one can get all the information regarding the vehicle in one spot including queries, problems etc.! [thinking]

You both seems quite unlucky, in future try to avoid purchasing 6-7 months old car for mere discounts irrespective of its storage, why should one take chances with hard earned money that too after knowing everything.
