Re: Ownership Review: Polo 1.2 TDI Comfortline (Diesel)

Guys, I am seeing a lot of Polo's with the front logo missing. There are a lot of cars in mangalore according to my sister & her husband. Even in Skoda Fabia's. It's very easy to remove from these cars when compared to the other. Probably, just 30 seconds. I searched it on google & read that it is happening in mumbai, pune (main) etc. Beware of that, and anyone know how to remove that thing? Coz I am going to mangalore today [frustration]
is it covered under insurance

Hey all , the new hyundai i20 launched today .. I am not feeling that good, the sportz version which i was confused with polo is now equipped with ABS and rear camera with display on the rear view mirror, now my Highline polo lacks more when compared to i20 sportz. not to miss they have added dual vtvt kappa mill which churns out 84 ps of power ,, i love polo but ... :stupid:
Thats how market behaves poloman.
The new i20's enhanced power and improved engine (as per your post) seems to be a good deal provided it falls in same range as POLO HL does. But i doubt if i20 still could beat the ride quality that polo offers.

Relax man, i think our car is too enjoyable to envy some other machine.

I read it somewhere- there is one screw that needs to be loosened and a clock/anticlockwise turn of logo would detach it form car body. Pretty easy it seems. The VW logo cost is about 1600 bucks. So best of luck.

And if its that easy, anyone can do it, even you can.[;)]You know what I mean..

hmm. I tried out something liking turning it anticlockwise but didn't want to break it myself! Anyways reached home safe, drove around 310 kms total.

Well, if you are saying that, then you could have gone for a Indica Vista which has many features and that too far far cheaper than a polo! [;)]

Hmm. All features you mentioned above are pretty useful and are not there on POLO. I certainly wish I had these features on my Polo.
But..have you driven i20? Without any offense to any i20 owner, I personally felt that car is quite boring to drive. Even after all the features you mentioned above, I guess the element of fun would still be missing in car.

@jihu123, nice to know that logo is still there.

Also the FM roof antenna is easy to remove and they both cost between 1500-1800 each.

Both Hyundai i10 and i20 is plagued with steering noise problem due to some serious design flaw till date they are not able to repair the said problem in reported vehicle to satisfaction of the user. Also there is some serious under performance of AC reported by i20 users.

Hyundai still has to solve my i10 steering noise problem, those jokers never accepted the real cause, they repaired my steering four times till date and the noise still persists on top of that steering now becomes quite hard to operate.

VW and Hyundai are pole apart, most of the manufacturers can only dream of German quality and engineering.

My advice: Stay away from Hyundai i-10 and i-20 till they find any solution for the reported issues (steering noise problem and ac problem) google it for more details.

These features are of no use with traditional steering noise in both i10 and i20 and low performance AC of i20, this will irritate the owners only, stay away from i10 and i20 till Hyundai find steering noise problem solution google it more info.

Oh. I haven't noticed that one. Sometimes they even steal the back boot opening logo which costs rs 8000 [cry]. But it's not that easy as the front one. Frankly speaking, Volkswagen didn't know that there were small scale robbers in India [lol]

Did you read my i10 reviews, those jokers still have to find solution for my wife's 8 months i10 that too purchased and serviced from company owned HMP outlet car is spending most of the time in workshop.

All my money went into drain, they now made my steering useless.

Similarly i have yet to find any issues in my Polo diesel which is nearing 5K mark in less than 2 months.Steering mounted control is quite useful feature, apart from that i want auto transmission, cruise control, satellite navigation system in my diesel polo.

Did you have diesel or petrol Polo? When you are posting your ownership review?

We all are waiting for same.

Re: Ownership Review: Polo 1.2 TDI Comfortline (Diesel)

Few stats from my Delhi-Amritsar trip: My Polo diesel gave me 17KMPL fuel average with AC on all the time, i stuck in few jams too lasting 1.5Hrs at max. Polo had 4 passenger on board and mind you my Explorer-1 (my Polo nick name) performed quite well, amazing high speed stability, car gulps small potholes with quite ease, strong build quality, silent cabin, effective AC, nice stock music system in CL polo, comfortable rear seat, good driving seats, good visibility. I find all this after driving 1054KM, 10Hrs nonstop each time for both up and down journey. Overall a true star performer.

Hey guys, find below few pics taken during my Delhi-Amritsar trip:
