Nice one Kinshuk just one word of caution, if you use start stop actively , be careful as the engine kills itself but the HIDs will keep running, that will kill your battery, Always keep the lights on only when the engine is on.

Cheers

Yeah IR. I used to keep that in mind even with Halogens as they might fuse at a sudden start.

the only thing I need to take care of now is the instances when the low beam turns on when either locked or unlocked.

One more thing I want to ask. When giving dipper does the Low beam turn off and only the high beam turns on or both should turn ON?

Yes you need to minimize the "lights on battery" situation now (all the follow me, lead me lights). The projector beams remain on in both hi and lo mode.

Very nice mate. They seem too bright. Please answer me as follows-
1)Any issues with Functions Like Auto Lamps, Follow me Home, Find my Vehicle etc?
2)Can i have a comparision between halogen (stock) headlight and yours?
3)How about the Heat compared to Halogens?
4)Do you notice a shadow till about 5 meters in front of the vehicle?
5)What was the cost for the same.

HIDs wont Kill the battery much. They're same as your halogens. But Start Stop WILL kill your HID as HID bulbs hate On-OFF-On stuff. They get mad.
Whole Start Stop Idea is scam. I read an article on How stuff works.com and they said the extra strain on Starter, battery and engine far offsets any benefits. Plus it makes the AC turn off and then it has to work harder again to cool the cabin. More negatives than positives.

You can simply put the Light joystick in OFF position rather than AUTO position and these functions won't bother you.

Not in High Mode but in dipper mode?
By lo i meant dipper - projector remains on

The Projectors ARE the low beams. They stay ON along with High or by themselves on "Dipper"
Dipper, low, projector are all same things. Just the High beams (reflector goes on and off)

1. no issues as such now with these functions only thing is I have to use my remote twice to turn off the headlights if they turn ON.
2. sorry dude dont have any other XUV owner near my place
3. Heat I think is lower than the halos.
4. No shadows as such you can see the pics on page 7
5. I got it from a friend of mine at a bit differential pricing.

My Joystick is always in manual mode. but still these functions are there will search through the owners manual to turn them off.

I also thought the same that during Dipper just the high beams come ON but after HID conversion whenever I am using my Dipper the mow beam turns OFF and the high beam turns ON it didnt come to notice before as both are the same color temperature and we dont use the dipper for more than a fraction of a second. I also searched for the same in another forum and found a post which says that above function is as intended. Can you guys check once?

Still, What is the pricing you got? A friend of Mine is ready to offer 55W kit for the same price of 35w one.
My joystick is always in Auto mode. I love those functions. My sister in law arrived yesterday and was asking about "follow me home" function. She drooled if there was some sensor that lets you cross the road and then turns off the lights. I showed her the LRS and she was all ga-ga..

For your High Beam, Now that's something serious. Low beams off mean there will be darkness in immidate front of the vehicle and this can be very dangerous as Indian road conditions are very random and there are potholes, Beggars sleeping on roaads, Cows and what not!
On my Stock vehicle, The Low Beams stay ON when we engage the High beam. However If we Pull the stick to "Flash" the lights, low Beams go off for the time being you have pulled the stick. Confirmed the same behaviour from 2 XUVs (both w8)

Hey Kinshuk, Congrats on your ride. And thanks for the useful information. I too have had the good fortune of picking up a XUV earlier this year. I am quite impressed at what you have managed to get done with the Head Light Upgrades. I would like to upgrade to the 4300K HID's too. Would you be kind enough to share the details of the equipment that you used for that?

Very well written review followed by nice updates. Your red cheetah looks stunning (I may be bit late here though).

Wish you happy miles ahead :)

thank you rnharish.

The current update is that Optimus has completed close to 9000km of ownership now. and so far now no issues except for a slight noise while turning the steering to extreme left. Have to get it checked.

Will be posting some pics soon enough of the terrain and a complete review of my recent drive.
