^^^ Gurrala even i think so. as when Optimus came out of the wash some hard stains were still there 2 crow s*** stains and 2 from some kind of fruit that had dropped on the windshield. They were then removed manually by the person using a cloth. And the rest of them disappeared after the wax job.

@Arya,

If you search in Pune, you will find the dedicated car wash specialists like we have some in Hyderabad, they really do a through job better than services people(it is very routine from them)[:)]

@gurrala: the problem is I am new in Pune. have found some service ceenters which do wash them as required but the problem is they are way too expensive. ranging from 500-800 only for exterior cleaning for an SUV.

Normally I wash it myself but in my current housing society there is a scarcity of water.

There are people in Hyderabad like Carz who also charge around 250 for hatch and 500 for SUV, but they do a really good job exterior and interior too

yeah there might be some in Pune as well I just think that 500 per wash is a lot of money.

We have hired a watchman from our neighborhood apartment who comes and cleans the car every alternate day's with a clean cloth provided by us, by doing this we have managed to keep the car clean and save lot's of water. our car gets bath once in 45 day's.

We end up saving water, and all it costs is good 1000rs

Visran in the last 2 months i have washed my car only with 2 buckets of water, only once.

Most of the time it is covered by car cover.

People in Bangalore are facing water scarcity at this point of time.

Its a good move to save water, at the same time maintaining the ride too.[:)]

Have washed my car thrice in the past 2 months, twice myself and once in that car wash. I use around 3 buckets of water to clean my car including the soap one. Majorly its the dust in Pune which is cleaned with the Jopasu Duster. One time I didnt even use soap just wiped it with water and a microfibre cloth, used colin for hard stains and waxed it.

Went to the wash center just to check it out.

@Arya

If possible visit 3M car care and get it exterior paint treatment done to retain the original finish as it lasts for 8 to 9 months according to them. Since RED color fades faster than other colors under sun, I think it will be good for your car[:)]

Re: Say Hello to Optimus: A Tuscan Red Mahindra XUV5OO W8 FWD

I had contacted 3M car care for the treatment and it costs around 4-5k, which is a bit out of my budget if done every 7-8 months. for now i am planning on applying DG-105 paint sealant myself. will see how it goes.

for the color problem as of now I keep my car completely covered all the time and will be getting a covered parking shade next month.

Hello kinshuk.arya, to retain the paint, I suggest you to wax the car frequently (twice a month as yours is a big car, i do once in a month to my alto), also try to avoid parking your car in direct sunlight, i have retained my car color like new one with some gloss effect (mine is a dark blue colored car).

Optimus got a new set of headlamps for Low Beam.

Optimus now sees via a pair of 55W 4300K HIDs.

Will post the pic soon.

Upgraded it myself but was not able to take the pics. will make a writeup without the pics.
