After the gestation, which invariably became longer than I thought

Finally have decided to fix my mind to Pioneer 5290SD as it gives the required features (of USB/ IPOD/ 3 preouts) that I need. Just that the Bluetooth is missing. !!

and comes at a price of 9.5k. Is that a good price to pay ?

Do also let me know if below are good enough for the price we pay

[just looked at these as options from Pioneer 5290 SD because it had bluetooth option]
Kenwood KDC-X7013 for 13K ??
Kenwood KDC-X8016BT is worth at 17-18K ??

Is the sound quality of Kenwood any match with Alpine/ Clarion/ Pioneer ? how would you rate all 4 brands in a scale of best to worse in terms of sound quality ?

Thanks Ilango, For the spec I am looking Apline hits out of my budget, planning sticking to Kenwood for now.

@aditya, I am comparing between Kenwood 7016 (14K)/ 7046 BT (13K) and 8016 BT (20K).

So confused as to what to buy. Any idea on the price do you think its reasonable price or costly ?

Might be a little odd to ask for the place of visit. One of my friend is visiting Bangkok, do you think head units will be cheaper to be sourced from there ??

Kenwood 8016 BT priced at 20K and JVC KD - R816 priced at 13K both almost have the same features.

3 Pre outs/ 4V output, IPOD/ USB/ Bluetooth, in addition JVC has a double parallel USB (you can connect IPOD and USB in parallel unlike Kenwood or any other brand). but a little skeptical about the audio (voice/ frequency and bass) output in JVC.

any suggestions ?

I would advice to stick with Kenwood since they are great in SQ.

JVC is cheaper & always been a favourite option for cabbies. It has everything at very low cost. You can't expect the same SQ from JVC.

Hey Aditya,

KDC-X7013U has the same features as a 8016BT, don't know if that's a replacement or region specific model name/number. The model name that you have mentioned is more specific to Singapore region and the one I mentioned is India specific.

8016BT closed to about 20K. I dint look at Pioneer as people unanimously told that If i was looking at Sound Quality/Clarity as the first and foremost criteria then I should have Pioneer at the last (Alpine/ Kenwood/ JVC and then Pioneer). Though JVC scores over and Pioneer marginally. Pioneer Boost's up frequency rather than giving the exact quality. So its more of the thump & beat which i wasn't much interested.

KDC-X7013U cost approx 12-13k its a last year model i am not able to find this HU in kolkata, if you are just looking for sound quality then go for Alpine its one of the best SQ HU available in india.
