Hi,

Just a really quick query, I am actually planning to buy Kenwood X994 for ($300) in the US which is similar to that of the KDC-X8016BT (19K) in feature, Had a few question around the same.

1. Will the features like the FM frequency work in India ?
2. Ratio of Good to Bad experience buying it from the US to use in India ?

Suggestion of "Yes" or "No" to buying in the US and using it India would help.

I am primarily asking this as the warranty is void when the product is out of US and the 30 days return back policy also want work for me.

Thanks and Appreciate a quick reply on the same.

Getting one from us is good , if its a mp3 player ,
dvd's wont work here. (i mean almost)

Get a alpine mono and id subs enjoy the boom in ken x994.

But you will not get any warranty here. and shipping cost is almost 30% of the product price i suppose.

Buy through a reputed online stores , even i got my paint gun through online.

Hey Ilango, Thanks a ton for your quick reply.

yeah the X994 is a mp3/USB/IPod Player and does not have DVD as I did not want to risk with the region limitation on it. I already have GT5 S644 and Rockford Prime 12".

Yeah out of the USA the warranty is void. I checked in Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more and Home Theater, HDTV, and High End Audio at Bob & Ron's World Wide Stereo, which are reputed. Both are not charging me on the shipping as I am doing it within the US. So the net price come to $299.

But my doubt was over the
1. connectivity to Indian Cars (which i thing should not be a problem as the current supply will be from the Car's Automotive battery, which is mostly the same in Indian and US and elsewhere) do correct me if I am wrong in my assumption.
2. Secondly and Majorly was if FM Radio frequency would work in them

Do you think else apart from the above would be a problem, to buy in USA and use in India.

Anyways if someone has missed out to read this post .. one last time :)

Most likely there won’t be any compatibility issues with U.S based Head Unit in India as long as actual power source is 12v and it is bought from a reliable place. The FM Tuner should work fine as well, since it generally catches the radio signals according to the region but sometimes chances are that you may have to miss a few channels.

Drive Safe,

Pioneer doesn't have much bigger displays in single din system.

You can opt for 7" touch screen system which comes around 15K W/O bill.

In 1DIN unit check out 6150BT which is close to 11K here.
