Congratulations Honda Machine , the HU is looking stylish!
Thanks Dhaya

one question what about warranty as you have imported from US sorry bit lazy to read old post
@mastersquall, the warranty would be void. But the differential in pricing is closed to a 9K-10k buying it in India and US.

The dependable factor is that Kenwood India will take in the head-unit bought outside of India for service with a Cost attached to it. (as the warranty is void in India)

I happened to talk to one of the service engineer at Kenwood, asking him in a worst case scenario if the system is dead has to re-undergo a service. What will be the cost of the costliest spare inclusive of labour. He came up with two options.

1. Costliest spare within a x994 head-unit would would be 3.5 to 4k inclusive of Labour.

2. Non-Reparable state where you will have to throw it off literally [if this was the case I planned to send it back to US from the same buyer as there is a 30-45 days exchange policy, where they replace the system and give you a new one]

With the brand name Kenwood I don't expect it to conk off. Hoping it to be best at least for two or three years.

Thanks
Sudhan

at long last..got the X-944 Kenwood fixed in my car

Fixed at TMC Electronics (East End Road, Jayanagar 9th Block) by Vijaykumar. He was the person who recommended this Kenwood sound/music reservoir, the time I was confused in which headunit to buy i just happened to hop into his shop this guy spent a good 20 mins explaining to me about features in the different headunit and why Kenwood is the second best to Alpine and this headunit in particular.

To what ever I spoke and understood seems like Vijaykumar is a audiophile.[thumbswink]

a Special Thanks to cooldhaya on confirming and reasserting that the Sound Quality would definitely change from a single preout to a 3 preout head unit. Believe me its like amazing change of sound quality and output. Thanks to all of them who had helped with their valuable suggestions. [thumbsup]

It sound amazing, now I am able to feel the difference. It like a change over from simple speaker system to a Dolby/ DTS surround system [:D]

My Earlier Double Din - CDA-W560E (Apline - Factory Fitted from Honda)

The Kenwood X994 works perfectly well on

IPOD/ I-Touch
USB Flash Drives
USD Hard Disk Drives [320GB] (with the help of extra power through the car inverter to the Hard disk)

Bluetooth HandsFree enabled through the head-unit and the mic given along with it grabs the voice signals wonderfully well.

Radio works well (as this was bought from US)

Amazing Sound Clarity and numerous options.

Car Inverter
there is a socket to the side which helps you to connect the USB there.

Re: Now, Need Advice on Head-Unit

I have connected my 320 GB HardDisk through a Y Cable, the longer end "Y Cable" is connected to the USB outlet of the head unit and the shorter one to the Car inverters USB at the rear panel of its box.

The Car Inverter is in turn connect to the cigarette lighter charger to throw enough power for the USB HD to work.

All my folder is accessible through my Head Unit (X994).

Re: Now, Need Advice on Head-Unit

Dear TAIn's :help:
My Head unit certainly stopped working. I can see a small red led blinking after removing HU upper part (don't know what it is called)
