The reason Dzire is not too high in sales is simply because Maruti is clearing stocks of existing Swift. I expect in AUgust Dzire will reach 25K sales if not more. The new Swift can be launched anytime as both Dzire and Swift are the same platform, I expect the new swift will be lauched around November- December.

[lol][lol] Man! on the Bold part in quoted text, I'm seriously asking whether you're writing your final exam or given to a lottery prize? Come on it's your money and you ought to get what you desire!

Finally getting what I dzire. I understand where you are coming from...but its difficult to come back to the same level of trust when the delivery timelines have been as dynamic as our share market. Nevertheless 25/08 new journey begins.

Is this rumour true that the upcoming swift is going to get the in house 1.2 litre Diesel? I am afraid that the power of the car will dip. Previously there was an in house Diesel in the celerio and now could it be the Swift. Is the Swift going go the Grand i10 way with 1.2 litre Diesel ?

This is a big surprise. No where else I have read this before. I can believe this to be true as Maruti is good with experiments and this time they might want to create a USP for Dzire by offering it with a 1.3 litre diesel as against the 1.2 in swift. Maruti has to start somewhere by ditching the Fiat engine and introducing its own engines thereby saving on the royalty

Oh no no Maruti [frustration], I wish that they should replace it with 1.5 Diesel instead. I pray that this never happens and this rumour should remain as a rumour. If it comes with 1.2 Diesel then I forced to look at Dzire Diesel AMT as my next buying option. On the contrary even Ignis was rumoured to get the 1.2 litre Diesel engine, but that did not happen. So based on that, there is 95% chances that the Swift comes with 1.3 MJD. 5% chances are there for 1.2 D.

This would be just a speculation for a 3 cyl diesel unit derived from the celerio 800cc 2 cyl unit, I don't think even swift could afford such an experimental diesel engine in our market.
I beleive Suzuki won't make any compromise other than the safety on the swift brand in India,Also they are clearing off the pending orders for Baleno prior to the next block buster to prevent booking order cannibalisation.

ACI does a shootout of the compact Sedans . Dzire is the pick of the lot.

Performance and refinement

Dzire is quickest all around. Xcent is peppy in town. Amaze has mediocre mid-range. Ameo and Aspire offer fair performance. Tigor is slowest. Xcent is best insulated. Dzire and Aspire decently refined while Amaze can get quite noisy. Ameo sounds gruff at times but Tigor is noisiest.

Dont find the shoot out is correct.

Agreed Tigor is slow because of high weight but it is adequate enough.

Well mileage of 10 - 13 is wrong.

I own tigor petrol and gets mileage of 16 in city and 22 in highway, also highway performance is good too.

Its a true VFM at the price.

Strange my new DZire is giving a mileage of 13 on HIGHWAY and 11 in CITY and its at around 1500 kms now.

Don't know what the hell is going wrong?
