Am I the only one?

The front end has a faint resemblance to the 'all favorite' ambassador.

Regardless of the looks the 28+ kmpl mileage and the availability of diesel AMT and all these new features means the new Dzire has the power to even cannibalize its own siblings the Ignis and Baleno
Bang on!, With the refurbished looks and a very clean one than all previous generations Dezire will definitely gooble up its siblings.

I personally liked the way this car is designed except for the weeny point of beefed up wheel arches as I hadn't liked it in the zest.

12 lakhs OTR for sure i suppose for top end [roll]

The design of new Dzire is good , the only thing I hate are the over dose of chrome, feels like its done in purpose to make the Dzire feel premium but in reality feels like a pathetic cheap trick from Maruti

But 12 lakhs OTR is too damn high, as per reports its expected to be between 5.9-10.5 lakhs ex showroom Delhi for diesel variants

I'm not questioning your credentials, just saying that things have changed a lot in recent history. In the US, especially after the 2008 recession - which drove firms to redesign their manufacturing from the ground up using Lean tools first explored by Taichi Ohno at Toyota.

Don't take my word for it, though. Feel free to read a book titled 'The Toyota Way', which talks about this.

Anyways, this has digressed from the topic of discussion. If you want to chat further, feel free to drop me a message.

Anyone has got any information regarding on road pricing for all the Variants ? If Maruti can get this one last thing right. It would become a superb product and a most reliable Automatic Diesel compact sedan in the market. Next to Ameo. Ameo is a superb product with that DSG gearbox but the DSG reliablility is the only thing that haunts me.

Thanks for sharing the book details. In my opinion self assumed policies by manufacturers throwing on to customers, leaving aside basics of engineering. Every research claim of A & B companies will be plus and minus either side. The question is quality vs demand correctly said by 1989rs500.

Rushlane has reported, safari has faced more damage. From the pictures it doesn't seem true.
Safar got struck with the divider first and then Dzire. However I can see doors of Dzire bad damaged and almost half. Bad/thin sheet metal?

Maruti cars have bad/thin sheet metal by default (mostly). This is my biggest grudge with maruti cars and one area they need to improve a lot.

They don't want to improve, neither do the buyers. They are going thinner year by year, upgrade by upgrade. In the name of high fuel efficiency and peppy ride, they're sacrificing sheet thickness. New dzire, with even lighter frame is said give 28 kmpl in diesel. That's why when you make a little heavy car (eg. Tiago/Tigor) with a similar 1.2 engine,(85 PS and 114 Nm at 3500 RPM of Tiago vs 84.3 ps @ 6000 rpm 115 Nm @ 4000 rpm of swift k10b) people call it a underpowered car.

I think prospective buyers in Bangalore should wait until July 1st for the GST to be implemented. GST may ease out the exorbitant taxes in Bangalore. Just my 2 cents.
