Yes, we can expect this till May 2013 for sure.
I wonder how the price is decided. We got Alto k10 at 3.20 onroad last year.Does Petrol LXI Rs 2.99 lakh make any sense ?
@ surfer seriously in my opinion price is something which i can not digest.if cng top end is at 3.56 delhi then in mumbai it will be around approx. 3.60 +15000 insu.+approx 15000 reg.so total 3.90 OTR. Isn't the wagon r cng at 4.50(after 35000 ongoing discount) better option with k series engine of 1000 cc. ?
it would have been a better choice at 3.90 if the design and overall looks would have been much much much better..[frustration]

I have checked with the nearest Maruti showroom today for a test drive, but efforts are in vain as they say there is huge crowd[surprise] for new 800 and not possible today[cry]

Today I done test drive for alto 800...will post pics and short review later. Final impression is awesome and its lot more peppier than his predecessor.So, I booked it today and will get on 24th oct as the white color was not available.

Congrats man. It seems you were waiting just for the launch of this. Good even I have suggested to couple of friends but they wanted to wait for reviews and feedback.

I have checked the reviews on line and the specs and this seems to be a really good car at the price point. Space, ride, comfort, FE are all the positive aspects and probably will be a good replacement for the 800. Can only speculate the numbers Maruti will sell, but it will be huge (even with the price of petrol going up).

I had TD ed the new Alto 800 LXi just now. My colleague booked the car and the dealers arranged TD for him in my office. Meter had disconnected on the car, guess they will give the car to some other customer.As I had already late to leave office, quickly i shall share my views.
1. All the people near the car could hear the 'Khatak' sound while changing gear,not only in reverse every change. I noticed it while the sales guy started car to return. But it is not noticeable from inside.Gear shift is smooth.
2.Car is very spacious compared to old,comfortable leg room in rear and spacious luggage space. Even the car is 5 seater, Still accommodating 3 persons could feel rear seat very tight in widthwise.
3. Switching on the a/c couldn't felt any difference,but with 5 people and A/c felt sluggish. I pressed accelerator maximum in each gear, but it takes time to reach around 70km/hr in full load. Gear ratios are also comfortable.Anyway its better than old alto.
4. Felt driver seating position is very better than old alto. Rear seat more comfortable than A star
5. Power window felt very basic,it does not roll down in single push in driver side.
6. Brakes are just enough to stop the car. I tried hard braking at 70-80km/hr, and it does not skidded in the express way.car stops very slowly.
7.No space found for fixing speakers in doors,not found rear parcel try and parcel try fixing clamps.
Thats all for today. i shall share more details tomorrow.

I have been invited for a TD of Alto 800 by a nearest dealer tomorrow. I will see if I get time for it, if so I will post more details from my side[:)]

There are just miniature differences between the 2 cars. I feel that there are too many cars in this range for Maruti (including 800, alto, k10, a-star,wagon-r,estilo) and it feels repetitive and too much remodeling. I'm sure this is going to be attract the crowd, just by the 'Maruti' tag. I just feel its an Eon competitor, something to match up with the fluidic design. Just a few exterior changes to boost up the sales?

I was expecting this to be on Diesel. In that case I think it would have been different from all other cars mentioned above[Eon, k10 etc]

Hey, I just gone thru the comparison and I think it is great VFM. For Rs.1000 difference you get lot friend.

Probably not so much in India however includes the export markets namely Europe & L America either under the Suzuki brand or re-badged.

250000 Is quite possible buddy -
20000 * 12 = 240000
The alto sales avg 25000 PM check the old sales figures of last 3-4 years.
