250000 Is quite possible buddy -
20000 * 12 = 240000
The alto sales avg 25000 PM check the old sales figures of last 3-4 years.
Yeah those calculations are correct buddy, but you know why I was laughing..

Say there are 10 popular manufacturers in India and each will have say 3 popular brands and would like to sell 2,50,000 per year, then see this

10x3 = 30

30x2,50,000 = 75,00,000 units per year adds up to the existing cars in the country..where do they drive[lol] funny calculation

This advertising is not very convincing for me as the word "Trend Setter" which more suits to M800,Alto old version already with their success and sales. So Eon is a follower of them already.

The differences show are really minute and doesn't matter much. The price difference is not shown in the advertisement.

Apart from the above, Eon just started selling bit well after a year of its launching where as Alto 800 is just filled with mind blowing advance bookings.

Other important thing is that service part and spares, where Hyundai will always eats away your pocket and no need to mention about Maruti here.

I have driven the Eon already as my brother owns this and not happy with its pulling power where I felt M800 is much better than this. I am yet to drive the Alto 800, hence I am limiting my comparison over here[:)]

I have sat in the new Alto, before the launch, just as the dealer received the stock. Felt it definitely more comfortable and spacious than the older one. The design seems better too with some cues especially the headlight from the A star.

Kudos to Maruti! Seems like a good replacement and at the same price as earlier.

I just checked out the new alto 800 day before yesterday, to say it feels same like the old alto but with some changes.
Another disappointment is the OTR of the LXI(with airbags) in Bangalore is 4.08 lakhs(LXI which costs 5 or 7k lesser), which seems to be on the higher side.

To whom would the car appeal to?
Only to people who plan to upgrade from old 800 and first timers, current alto(normal 800cc) owners wouldn't feel too much of change.

True and Eon is not peppier than my alto too!

The 800 will notch up some Eon numbers and will probably also eat up some from the high end Nano segment. Price for the base is enticing and given its a Maruti with lower cost of ownership.. its actually a no -brainer for a segment of buyers.

@100% true that most of the nano users [High probability for high end nano goers] will go for this if not lower and higher am sure for the middle variant.

200 New Alto 800s Delivered to Customers in a Single Day by a Kerala Dealer

In a mega event conducted at a Kottakkunnu authorised Maruti dealership, the company delivered as many as 200 Alto 800s at a single go. It is claimed that this is the first time in India when so many units of any car model have been delivered to customers at the same time.

The more interesting part here is that all the 200 customers who received their car in the event had booked their Alto 800s before they had seen any images of the car. They did not even have any information on the car.

The keys of all the Alto 800s were handed over to the customers by Mr. PK Kunhalikutty, Minister for Industries and Information Technology, (Kerala).

I feel that Alto 800 is going to kill other alto models like alto k10 as having a price difference of over 30% between alto 800 base-model to top end k10 model spoils the interest of buyer looking at higher end model. The name should have been different as alto is alto, who really bothers whether it is 800 or k10.

Imagine Nano being sold as Indica 798 [lol], Indica sales will surely be hit.
