If u want a car a particularly for highway run then I'm sorry to say you are in wrong territory broda go and get a swift because you'll get proper comfort which is missing in brio although it isn't bad either but brio tends to hop on the joint sections at highway speed ,I'm not questioning it's handling but comfort is something which is required at highway. But if u have made your mind then go ahead with Bridgestone's potenza g3 they will last longer then michelin's cos it is made of softer compound which is not well suited for Indian condition.

Hey All,

My BRIOs wind screen is been hit by some idiot in a movie theatre, because of which wind screen got cracks of 1-2 inch, and the point where it hit had a small disruption.

I checked whether water is coming in or not by pouring water on windscree, luckily water didn't went in.

Check with Honda Assure guy, and he said " if i want i can continue with that, and i can claim (ZERO dep insurance, so i have to pay some deductible) any time in future.

Also, suggested, if i want to claim immediately, then the cracks should be more wider.

Suggest me on what to do? should i continue or should i claim?

Post pictures wherein we could check on its severity.

Did this happen in the parking lot? Or did you witness the incident?

In case there was a CCTV in the vicinity, try getting the footage. Maybe you could nail the culprit. [evil]

Hi Anil,

My suggestion, get it fixed asap. I have seen many cases where a small crack eventually grows up to a bigger one as time goes by.

If you have zero dep insurance, just claim it buddy & get the windshield replaced. You will pay roughly 1k + tax for processing in total.

Alternately, if you don't have a zero dep insurance, and if the crack isn't that big, check with these guys.

Congratulations for you're new acquisition. Also do check the Manufactured Year. It should be February 2013 or March 2013.

Hi Guys,

My first post in this forum . All the information posted regarding the Honda Brio has been very useful for me so far. I feel very proud that I have booked my first car, an Alabaster Silver Honda Brio EX MT last week, and scheduled to get the delivery next week.

The on-road price in Mumbai for this model is 5.19 lakh. I was getting a good discount on this price, almost around 30k (10k loyalty bonus has i have a honda bike + 14k insurance free + 5k corporate discount). With some more bargaining the salesperson offered a further discount of around 5k-7k, and just then he told me that he had one Dec 2012 model in stock and he was ready to give a further discount (20-25k) on that. On consulting with my friends, who advised me that the Dec 2012 model will be as good as any 2013 model (except that the resale value could be a little less), I decided to go for this model which was in Silver colour (incidentally this was one of the colours i liked)

After some further bargaining, the final price offered by the dealer was around 4.6 lakhs, with mats, teflon and engine coating as free accessories. This was a good offer as compared to some other quotes which i had got from other showrooms and hence i decided to go ahead and book the car.

The additional accesories provided by the showroom are too highly priced, and I am interested in getting quite a few of those fitted on my new car but not from the showroom. The rates outside are almost half of what the dealer is offering. Following are the accessories I am interested in:

1. Keyless entry
2. Reverse parking sensors
3. Anti rust coating
4. Floor lamination
5. Seat Covers
6. Rear Speakers
7. Parcel tray
8. Wheel Caps
9. Door and bumper protectors.
10. Body Cover

Now my concern is, will fitting accessories like Keyless entry, Parking sensors, speakers void the warranty of my car? I have heard mixed opinions about this, with the car accessories shop owners saying it doesnt void the warranty since they dont cut any original wires provided by Honda. But then I am sure if I ask the showroom guys about it they are going to scare me with warranty issues if done from outside and ask me to purchase these from them. But then I met one of my friends who owns a Brio too and he got Keyless entry fitted from the showroom of Minda brand and they charged him almost 6000, whereas the same brand outside is costing me around 2500-3000. So how is it that when the showroom guys fit it the warranty is not void, but if we do it from outside, it gets voided? I feel this is sheer blackmail on the part of the showroom guys, anyways will try to speak to them and convince them about this. But what do i do if they still try to scare me with warranty issues if done from outside?

Also, The same friend also advised me to go for 0-dep insurance since it is my first car and I do not know to drive a car properly (Planning to enroll into a course or appoint a driver to train me on the car in the first few days). What i would like to know is what exactly is this 0-dep and how is it beneficial over normal insurance since the cost is around 3k more.

The last help I request from you guys: what are the few basic checks that i need to do when I get the delivery of my car / or before getting the delivery of the car? The excitement on the delivery date is such that many times we end up missing a few things. So would really appreciate any help on this. Thanks in advance

Hi Sudeep
Do we need to give the Brio for second service exactly after six months from date of purchase, or else can we delay.
If we can delay then how many days.
I have opted for 3 & 4th yr extended warranty.
The delay in service, will it have any impact on extended warranty?
My Brio done less than 1000 kms, is it oil change required during second service?

Yes, sticking to date / kms (whichever comes first) is necessary to keep warranty intact. Honda is particular about this.

2nd service, Oil change and filter change is what they do, and would come to about 1300/-

The crack might grow in size.
Since you have zero dep. insurance, i recommend to claim it and replace the windscreen.

Hi ameyk85,

Hearty congrats on your new ride man.
Brio looks awesome in silver. Please put up some pics of your new ride.

Now to your questions,
Honda is too particular about this third party warranty thingy. Nothing should ideally happen if you install after market good branded stuff like ICE & Autocop etc, however in worst case scenario if something goes wrong in the future, Honda will pin you on this.
Zero Dep insurance in my opinion is a must have for everybody, and even more so if its your first car. It will give you bumper to bumper 100% coverage and will help a lot to repair minor scrapes & cracks which is impossible to avoid even by a seasoned driver. A lot of discussion has already happened on this in this thread, personally all my friends whom I pushed to get zero dep insurance thank me today.[:D]

Since you are in the learning phase, close your eyes and spend the extra 3k, you will realize how much it it was worth during the course of ownership.

Wish you many happy miles ahead.
