Hey Guys,
Just a query.
I have got two minor dents in my car. I have zero dip insurance.
Do you think its better to utilize the insurance or to get it done outside at a cheap rate?
Anyway one of the dent is almost 6 months old. Hope there is no harm in telling them that its a new dent :)

Hi John,

Its difficult to estimate without seeing the dents. So get an estimate from your cheap outside source and then compare how much NCB will you loose if you claim insurance.
Then take a call.

If I were you, I would have got it down at the dealership through insurance without any doubts.

Hi Venky,

Sorry to say, but I haven't maintained any fuel logs. FE totally depends on your driving style, having said that I can tell you that on an average I have got 13.5 kmpl.
The main reason is I drive every day through bumper to bumper traffic in peak hours, i.e around 9 in the morning and 6 in the evening to and fro office, and almost always with AC on irrespective of the climate.
Thanks Sudeep..But 13.5 looks to be great in bumper to bumper traffic with AC. This would be the same driving pattern for me too..

Guys,

Recently i have replaced my BRIO wind shield. Needed a clarification on putting 3M-CR70 sun film on wind shield. I know sun film is banned in India [frustration], Reason behind asking this is on my recent short drive to my relatives place in this hot summer (total 4 adults in car), i hardly see the effect of AC in car. i had Blower at 3 all the time.

Any idea on whether we have authorized dealers in Hyderabad, and they are doing now?

Hey Guys,

Really good to see so many Honda Brio ownership reviews and soo many happy Brio owners.

Been almost a year now, and the pleasure of driving this lil Honda baby just keeps on going northwards.

So after almost 1 year and 2 months, the car has clocked around 4,500-odd kms. As we use it occasionally for city drives, the FE is around 15-16kmpl (with AC on throughout). Rarely the car has hugged the highway ..and we haven't really been on a inter-city long drive.

The car is due for a service this month. Last service was done in Nov when the car had clocked 3990kms. Doesn't make sense to change the oil within just 600kms, but I guess it's mandatory to get the car serviced within every 6 months else it voids the extended warranty. Correct me if am wrong here.

Got an anti-rust coating (1,200/- from a local dealer) done during the last monsoon. Is it necessary to get one done again next month?

Hey Anil,

I second the fact that it gets very stuffy without the sunfilms, and specially in our country where the sun turns the car into an oven.

Even with the SupremeCourt's ban on sun-films, many cars still sport it in Mumbai. Even mine does. I paid almost 8k for those and wont b peeling 'em unless there's a major drive by the RTO to get them removed.

There are many local vendors who install sun-films on cars here in Mumbai. I guess, same wud b the case in Hyd.

4 Lacs.
I pushed for max IDV. first year was 4.18 Lacs.
They will generally quote with 20% depreciation in the first year, however on request, they can increase the IDV.
Hi Sundeep ,

Even I have completed around 11 months and need to renew my Car Insurance . Guys , I have few doubts . So , please help me out here .

For 1st year , it was
I have Honda Assure - National Insurance - Comprehensive Policy
IDV - 422000 . Premium - ~10,000 , to be renewed by next month .

My confusion here is -
1) What is the benefit of taking the insurance from Honda Assure ?
For renewing the same policy , with 0 dep
IDV- 392000 , Premium -~ 15000 (National Insurance)

I got confused because I am getting lots of calls from different insurance companies like Bhatri AXA , Tata AIG , Bajaj ........
They are quoting 3-4 k lesser (around 11-12K) as quoted by Honda Assure .Also they are giving high IDV value .But I suspect , would insurance claiming would be that much smoother . I did claimed 2 times last year and it was completely hassle free .

So, need your advice here . So , I continue with Honda Assure or can take insurance from outside like TATA AIG .

Please advise .

Best Regards,
Anupam

Hi, anupamkamal [:)].

I would suggest you to stick on to Honda Assure, and also Zero dep (bumper to bumper) insurance.

Please check my thread for Honda Assure & Zero dep advantages.

http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...-brio-love-first-drive-8-months-9k-kms-4.html

Also, check with your dealership on which other insurance tie-up do they have, and accordingly ask for a quote.

15k for zero dep is tad high. 12-12.5k max for IDV value around 4.1L is the best deal.

Hey guys !!!

I Have booked the "HONDA BRIO VX MT" couple of days back. Awaiting its delivery on july 16th. Rally-Red is the colour i opted for.

So can i feel eligible to join this Brio owners family, here in TAI ?? [drive]

Been Following this thread for sometime now as it has a major role to play in the reason why i booked this beauty.

The only question i have so far is have i made a good choice by going for non-mettalic rally-red brio ?? Do you guys feel it will have some kind of disadvantage as such ??[thinking]

Regards and cheers,[cheers]

Hi Ajay,

Welcome to TAI & welcome to the Brio family. Rally Red is one of the best colours in BRIO, good choice man.
I am happy that this thread helped you in making your decision.
Also, there are no specific disadvantages with your chosen colour. The car is gonna be your companion for sometime, so as long as you love the colour, you will cherish it.

Wishing you millions of happy miles ahead.
Please keep updating us about your ownership experience as you go along with pictures, and do feel free to post any doubts/queries regarding the vehicle. We have a huge army of Brio owners in TAI who can help in all aspects.

Congrats once again man, Cheers!!

Hi Sudeep,

I saw another thread where you had posted photographs of the handrest and seat covers that you had put up on the BRIO. I see that you are based in Bangalore. Could you please confirm the place from where you got the handrest done?

Thanks!

Hey Man,

It was in this thread itself that I had posted those pics. Please find them here.

I am from Bangalore, but I had purchased my car in Gurgaon (Haryana), and had got the arm rest fixed in a local accessory shop there for less than 1k.

I am sure you will get the same thing, and may be a few more options in JC Road, here in Bangalore.

Hi All,
I have decided to purchase Honda Brio SMT (New) and I have already given the Booking amount to one of the dealer but I am currently getting an offer from another dealer in Hyderabad for Honda Brio EXMT, the offer seems very lucrative and it is : In EXMT they will give me: Rear Power Windows, Remote locking, Rear Speakers, apart from normal accessories like mudflaps, seat cover, car cover, mats and all and all this I am getting for 4.85 lk onroad but SMT new is costing around 5.3 lk

So please suggest me what should I opt for as I see there are features like seat height adjustment and rear defogger and few internal cosmetics are there in SMT compared to EXMT
