Congrats on your new Brio. It looks lovely in THAT blue!

Please get the door side mouldings painted in body colour - they are looking ugly unpainted.

Refer the owner's manual for running in instructions and follow them to the hilt. For a start, don't exceed 2500 rpm in any gear and keep varying engine speed in all gears.

Looking forward to your ownership review wiith lots of snaps.

All the best and take care of your car.

even the bumper protectors are in black, strange as to why did they not give them in the body color like mine

Hey Sam and Nitin,

Yep, i had a thought about it initially to paint them in body color. But, what if there are some scratches on them [confused], and then decided against it.

how much did they charge you for both the side protector and the bumper protectors in black.

purpose of both are to protect scratches only.

@ Anil Kumar ; Congrats !! & welcome to the Brio family [:)] The Brio looks charming in Blue.
For the first 1.5k kms, try to maintain a speed of 60kmph or less ..and between 1.8-2k on the RPM.

@ Nitin ; Yeah 1.6k includes body paint as well.
I asked him abt bumper protectors, but he said those were unavlbl. Even tho you have mentioned, can you pls state the cost for those from the dealership?

Man, thats a lot. I'll have to wait a while to get 'em installed.

Yesterday while on the way home a biker tried to overtake me from the left. He came speeding from nowhere. At the last minute he found out that the space is too less for him to pass through, but he still tried. In that, he managed to scratch the door a bit.

Luckily there are transparent autographix edge protectors (a set of 8 which cost me 800/- from a local vendor) which bore the brunt. But there's a faint scratch on the body. Tho' it's not much visible, but for me it's apparent that it exists.

Is there any quick fix solution for such scenarios?? How do we manage to mask such scratch marks??

i called them when i was taking my car on the highway. The service engineer told me 80/90 shd be good irrespective of how many kms the odo has clocked. He told me to try and drive maximum with the green light on to get the best of mileage.

Its another matter that i took her above 120 :p

With work pouring in just like the rains, havn't had much time to post updates here. It's really good to see the Brio brigade growing and as Sudeep said, we'll definitely have our own TAI Brio meet soon [:)]

A few updates from my Red Riding Dude, after almost 5 months of ownership;

a) Didnt miss the rear viper a wee bit whilst driving in the torrential rains. The large rear hatch is a big bonus.

b) Dont miss the auto ORVM adjustment at all. You don't have to keep on adjusting those after doing so once before the start of the journey.

c) The famous "Average" factor. To be honest, I've stopped bothering abt that now. Used to, while the car was new ..and so was I to the driving world. Not anymore. But what the hell!! In the city, the FE meter reads between 12.8 - 14.2. On the highway, it goes above 16 - 17. Mercurial tho. But best in comparison to any other.

d) It's a sheer pleasure to maneuver the car in heavy traffic. As I have always stressed, its like drivin a dashing car thru the circuit. The steering is super fun ..and the gear shift is highly smooth.

e) Yep, the AC takes a tad longer to cool if the car has been baking in the sun all day. But once it's on, it's a chiller even on blower 1. Rarely have I adjusted it to blower 2.

f) After a long time, added side (or door) protectors to the car. Got them installed for 1,600/-. Pics have been added.

g) The car's up for its 2nd free service in Nov. Has clocked 2.2k kms so far.

Sudeep, your thread is like a Bible for the Brio. I'll keep adding my 2 cents here itself, along with pics of whatever add-ons I treat the Brio with.

Cheers to all those who have shared their valuable information and advice. Makes it so easy for others when it comes to choosing, negotiating and finalising the deal. It sure pays to be 2 steps ahead to get the best deal outta the Dealership/Service Centre, etc.

[:D] Happy Miles & Endless Smiles.

Those body colored bumpers looks cool , did you fit it from honda dealer or from outside local shops ?
The honda dealers charges like hell.

Last week I was out to fit parking sensors for my car, two of the Honda dealers were quoting 5.5k for a simple LED based parking sensor.
Called the third dealer (Magnum Honda) and he quoted 3.5. Went to the dealer, did the work and he billed only 3k on the spot [:)]
So I guess the honda dealers just take advantage of the brand name and over price most of the accessories.

really sorry to hear this incident. it is indeed frustrating :(

u can try Formula 1 Scratch Out which removes light scratches only.
