Hi , I am interested in buying the Brio SMT.First of all, I d like to thank Sudeep for a very informative and helpful thread.
Anyways, the dealer has offered me insurance free + 7500 Rs cash discount. Needed some help in picking the colour. I really like the red one but am scared of it looking too girly since Brio is a small cute car. I also like the white one.
Also I would like to know what other accessories shall I need currently. The dealer said he would be giving Teflon coating. As this is my first car , I have absolutely no idea about all this. Also I have not opted for extended warranty (I ve heard we can get it later on at the same price) and RSA. Are they required? Mostly I will be using the car in Mumbai city itself and very rarely on highways or out-of-city.

Hello everyone. I just received the delivery of my E.Blue Honda Brio VMT on the 6th of September.

Car: Honda Brio VMT, Color: Electric Blue
On Road Price: 5,54,545
Car Dealership: Solitaire Honda Andheri
Car Registration: Navi Mumbai
Discounts: 1) 35k Cash 2) Free Insurance
Freebies Offered:
1) Teflon (They just apply a single coat and dont give any invoice regarding the same. According to me it is pretty useless. The other day I was at 3M looking at sunfilms. I found a single use car wax sachet. It was for Rs.50. The salesman told me that this is what the car dealers do when they offer this. Try bargaining for a warranty card and invoice for the same, I didnt get any)
2) Floor Mats (Boot not included) I got third party floor mats. Try bargaining for original Honda Rubber mats. The offer the best of both worlds (not slippery like plastic and water proof and easy to clean unlike the carpet mats)
3) Body Cover (Again third party)
4) Side Mirror Locks.

Add ons pruchased:
1) Zero Dep Insurance: Rs.3400 over the normal insurance cost.
2) Extended warranty (2+2 years): Rs. 4900
Really ?
I have booked S(O)MT at the same price as of your VMT.
Discounts: Free insurance+Accessories:15K+Exchange bonus:5K

i purchased Brio S red on 31st July, had to bargain hard and got
10k cash discount
Gear lock free
Door Mats free
Anti Rust Protection free
One teflon coating free
Insurance free

teflon coating is a waste, so better try and get something else in its place. U can visit my thread to see what accessories i purchased from them.

happy buying :)

Hi all, Ive got a slightly off-topic question here. I am planning to buy BRIO EMT. My budget is 4.5L and as of now I could get EMT for 4.4L . So I thought of adding key-less entry to it. But on asking, the showroom guys are advising me not to do that because some of their customers have experienced problems with the power windows after installing key-less entry in their BRIO. They say that the circuits of power windows and central locking messes up with each other. Anybody here is having such a problem? They said its a problem with the EMT version only.
Thanks [:)]

i dont think that should be an issue. anyways you will be getting power windows in the front and back side would be manual. I would suggest you consult autocop guys and not trust the dealer.

I have Brio S and i got central locking installed from autocop for added safety.

Has anyone seen Black Brio. I haven't seen one till now. I TD the Brio today and boy it is just amazing. The Smoothness of engine,Slick Gearshift,Communicative Steering all impressed me. I have finalized SMT and the dealer is offering me Free Insurance + 7000 Cash discount. On Road price comes to 515000. I like Red but dont want another car Red (Swift) which i currently have nor do i want White (Jetta) which my father has or the Blue (Fortuner) which my brother has. I am not interested in Albaster Silver. So it will come down to Urban Titanium or Crystal Black Pearl. Will be booking on Tuesday.

Thank you nitin_k.. I asked the dealer again today and she repeated the answer. [surprise] It feels bad when you can't trust the dealer right...

With work pouring in just like the rains, havn't had much time to post updates here. It's really good to see the Brio brigade growing and as Sudeep said, we'll definitely have our own TAI Brio meet soon [:)]

A few updates from my Red Riding Dude, after almost 5 months of ownership;

a) Didnt miss the rear viper a wee bit whilst driving in the torrential rains. The large rear hatch is a big bonus.

b) Dont miss the auto ORVM adjustment at all. You don't have to keep on adjusting those after doing so once before the start of the journey.

c) The famous "Average" factor. To be honest, I've stopped bothering abt that now. Used to, while the car was new ..and so was I to the driving world. Not anymore. But what the hell!! In the city, the FE meter reads between 12.8 - 14.2. On the highway, it goes above 16 - 17. Mercurial tho. But best in comparison to any other.

d) It's a sheer pleasure to maneuver the car in heavy traffic. As I have always stressed, its like drivin a dashing car thru the circuit. The steering is super fun ..and the gear shift is highly smooth.

e) Yep, the AC takes a tad longer to cool if the car has been baking in the sun all day. But once it's on, it's a chiller even on blower 1. Rarely have I adjusted it to blower 2.

f) After a long time, added side (or door) protectors to the car. Got them installed for 1,600/-. Pics have been added.

g) The car's up for its 2nd free service in Nov. Has clocked 2.2k kms so far.

Sudeep, your thread is like a Bible for the Brio. I'll keep adding my 2 cents here itself, along with pics of whatever add-ons I treat the Brio with.

Cheers to all those who have shared their valuable information and advice. Makes it so easy for others when it comes to choosing, negotiating and finalising the deal. It sure pays to be 2 steps ahead to get the best deal outta the Dealership/Service Centre, etc.

[:D] Happy Miles & Endless Smiles.

Are these original Honda side mouldings or did you get tem installed outside? Rs. 1600 for OEM mouldings is a good deal methinks.

Got 'em installed from my local vendor. The dealership charges quite a lot for all accessories/add-ons. They want the customers to foot their AC bills [anger]

Got the delivery of Brio VMT yesterday. Total onraod was 5.65 (14% life tax).
since the showroom is in LB nagar hyderbad, to return home i have taken Outer Ring Road, and god you can't control the speed on these roads, i have maintained speed @ 65 to 80 KMPH. As said by so many brio users, This car is real fun to drive[clap], I will create new post very soon with all my experiences. For now attached couple of pictures which i have taken during the delivery.

One quick question, what are the speeds that are recomended by Honda during Run-in? what is the run-in period?

Congrats on your new Brio. It looks lovely in THAT blue!

Please get the door side mouldings painted in body colour - they are looking ugly unpainted.

Refer the owner's manual for running in instructions and follow them to the hilt. For a start, don't exceed 2500 rpm in any gear and keep varying engine speed in all gears.

Looking forward to your ownership review wiith lots of snaps.

All the best and take care of your car.

wow !!!! your red car looks hot and sexy!

i did miss the rear wiper once while travelling on a mud covered road but the OVRMS's came in handy, Honda has got it wrong by not giving us rear wipers, maybe they did not want to spoil the rear beauty and offering 2 wipers would have made the car look horrible !!!!

red side protectors look awesome. I paid 5055 bucks for the red protectors and by paying not even 1/3rd of the oem price , you made a killing :p: no one can tell they are not OEM's, does the cost include the red paint as well. I must add he did a great job!
